PCP today? I am so down.

And they still have one monitor for games. Just have to hope it's not taken by the time you get there to use it lol.

I was thinking of heading down, but I don't think I can get there before 4:30. How late are people planning on staying?

Too much work' date=' would rather stick with GG and play easier games on the side.[/quote']

But Arcana's not even hard. You mash D to fly around to get in on your opponent. And you mash D to get out of pressure. The hardest thing I can think of is burden of knowledge when it comes to the actual Arcana, but most of the time you don't need to care about your opponent's Arcana.

EDIT: AND YOU PLAY PETRA

Uhhhhhhhhhhhh have fun getting blown up mashing homing trying to get out of pressure. Arcanas movement system may be a bit hard at first, but it's the least of your problems when you need to deal with tight mixup. The game's not exactly a walk in the park.

Arcana is actually pretty up there in terms of difficulty; probably close to, if not alongside, GG. If "mash D, land a hit, win" was all there was to it, the game would be braindead and everyone would be a champ. Turns out the opposite is true. The extra movement adds a whole layer that isn't present in most other games, which makes up for the simplicity it has in other regards. Having to factor in the varying speeds with which opponents can come at you (or vice versa), the trajectories, coupled with the opponent's hitboxes on top of that...that's a lot to have to deal with before you get into the nuances added by the absurd number of character/arcana combinations (though you rarely see more than a handful of combos per character). Blatantly appealing to a niche population is only part of the problem with the game's inability to cultivate a large player base.

Also, I played Time Petra (lol); that's not really a combo where you can mash D whenever you want.

Most of the time you can hit 4D to force a C move to whiff. If someone is approaching from a j.D during pressure, 4D causes their jump-in to whiff if you time it right. You're right: literally mashing D will get you blown up, but what I meant is pressure is easy to deal with thanks to the homing mechanic. It was a hyperbole.

And fine. I'll let you admit that Arcana is as difficult as GG, Carlos. That's so unlike you to say, though. I thought nothing was as difficult as GG! /sarcasm

Because Jewpuncher is old and busted. Wafflepuncher is the new hotness.

Also anyone using a c move in pressure in AH3 is asking to die.

You can do it with B moves as well, depending on the character. Akane gets blown up if she uses 5B and you guess right and 4D it. Also, when DOESN'T Scharl use C moves?

streaming equipment... HD PVR is pretty good. Should have one now that runs on HDMI for about $~200, I think. Other's I've heard about are AverMedia and BlackMagic (haven't tried either of them tho). That plus maybe xsplit and you're good to go. Oh, and a good comp, obviously.

Get an avermedia live gamer portable. I used a hauppauge for two and a half years and it's a pain in the ass. Even if they use HDMI now, you'll need an HDCP stripper to use it on the PS3. If that's not an issue for you, then you'll need to deal with it's rather large size and horrible software.

I got the avermedia a few weeks ago and it's pretty sweet. Very easy to set up with simple and good software. It even comes with a component cable that converges to a single end. I heard you can even use HDMI as the output from the avermedia, in addition the component as input. I still use HDMI both ways though. To strip the HDCP signal you can use this http://www.amazon.com/electronics/dp/B007WR0CHU . It's only $25 and works fine for me.

What kind of stuff are you planning on streaming? It'll help figure out what's best for you.

Also, if an old first gen hauppauge (Component cables only) is helpful at all to you, then you can have mine. I'll likely never use it again. But then again, to be honest... You probably don't want it. For streaming, they can be quite... Frustrating.
