Zeromus_X Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 ^Or Cockatrice. Ryan you could always borrow a deck from me if you ever want to play in FNMs. I highly recommend trying to get into EDH though, it's super fun.
Chumaralupa Posted August 2, 2013 Author Posted August 2, 2013 Ryan, mind if I drop off those magic cards you picked up from my pile to your place tomorrow late afternoon?
LegendaryRath Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 Ryan, mind if I drop off those magic cards you picked up from my pile to your place tomorrow late afternoon? I uhhh... Took them with me to Vegas. Those must be someone else's cards. thinking about it though, free cards are free cards. If you'd like to give me free stuff, I'm always down. I'm working like 8am to 8pm though, so... just keep em.
Chumaralupa Posted August 2, 2013 Author Posted August 2, 2013 Oh god, I think these are ray's. There's a Planeswalker and half a delver deck here.
Theupstreamer Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 All it needs are runechanter's pikes and that's about it.
Zeromus_X Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 Finally, news on +R patch. Granted it's Google translate, but looks like it should come out this month!
Orrax Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 Finally, news on +R patch. Granted it's Google translate, but looks like it should come out this month! Yeah, "finally" is right. And all the Xrd stuff as well -- looks like this should be a good month for Guilty Gear.
Greyvangelist Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 so it looks like +R is going to be a free patch?
Orrax Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 so it looks like +R is going to be a free patch? Looks like it, yeah.
Zeromus_X Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 Not sure how I feel about FRCs possibly not being in the game, although I would certainly welcome less of an execution barrier. On the other hand, it looks like Ky has steins "grinders" he can launch with his Stunedges which sounds fucking cool.
Greyvangelist Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 "Using a Roman Cancel during a projectile's recovery slows down time while allowing you to move freely, enabling combos even from a distance. Same meter cost." This sounds pretty weird but kind of cool. But if there aren't FRCs (really hope to god they didn't get rid of that) normal RCing a projectile sounds really silly. also why are there only 7 character spots
Zeromus_X Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 It's a loketest and they're still early in development, so I'm sure they'll put in more characters in the final game. Though we may not get all 25 at first.
Orrax Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 (edited) I'd rather them not get rid of FRCs, but I'm not going to be that upset if they did -- the "yellow" RC mechanic seems similar, but more flexible, with the extra meter cost there to balance out the flexibility. Depending on how it's implemented, I could see it possibly being a suitable replacement. I was honestly more afraid that they'd introduce wide throw-break windows and ground teching, and I am very glad to see that neither of those are mentioned in the system mechanics. I'm currently more worried about being able to YRC anything. Like doing Riot Stomp full screen and waiting until the last moment to YRC, using the "slow down" effect (which I'm still not sure I understand) to see if they twitched, and then Volcanic Vipering them. I'm assuming there's something to account for such stupidity -- like limits on when you can YRC and not (some people have suggested that it only works with projectiles, but the way the translation is worded makes me think it's an example of the mechanic and not the only instance of the mechanic) -- but I guess we'll find out for sure in the loketest. And, as Erik said, it's still being developed, so who knows what might change after the first loketest. Edited August 2, 2013 by Orrax
Lutrano Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 The way I read the wording it seems that slow down RC only works for projectiles. This would make a lot of sense to me as a replacement to FRC's because, at least in my opinion, the lack of projectile->followup would be the biggest loss from removing FRC's. Half the non-projectile FRC's just reduced the meter cost for comboing with those moves, which wouldn't be a huge loss as long as the numbers on the move reflect it (which they will). The only thing That will be really missed is moves that you can FRC on whiff for safety or mixup. Basically, It wouldn't surprise me if they removed FRC's for the execution barrier. Also i'm not sure how the slowdown works, but if everything including the projectile slows down and you move at normal speed, you might be able to get a sweet ambiguous crossup with gunflame FRC.
ThienKieuTam Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 You guys ready for Blazblue Alter Memory anime this fall?
Zeromus_X Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 You know I almost forgot they were making a BB anime lol. This fall is gonna be an Arcsys overload.
Chumaralupa Posted August 2, 2013 Author Posted August 2, 2013 You guys ready for Blazblue Alter Memory anime this fall? Awwww yeahhhhhhhhh
Tempered Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 Ill be hosting today again. Starting at 4. Come for games, though there's a good chance ill end up just watching The International all day.
Orrax Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 I may stop by; I haven't decided yet. I am in the mood to play some GG because of all the recent announcements, if anyone else is down for that. Although I'm also down for MB or P4A as well.
Tempered Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 Well if you see this let me know before ya'll come over.
Orrax Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 I was going to say that if no one else is going and Tempered's planning on watching The International anyway, I'll probably just stay home. But if people are going, I'm down to play some games; just let me know. Otherwise I might just stay in and play Portal 2 (because I finally got around to getting it).
Chumaralupa Posted August 3, 2013 Author Posted August 3, 2013 Otherwise I might just stay in and play Portal 2 (because I finally got around to getting it). Once you pop you won't be able to stop, at least I couldn't. I love that game so much.
