unsanctifier Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 i stopped, more quitters everywhere, play at night?
OmniSScythe Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 If I'm not busy then sure. For some reason I only had 1 RQ, didn't CC state that rage quitters was going to get paired up with each other?
Xtra_Zero Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 Hsien-Ko assist is awesome. Hsien-Ko by herself is kinda ehh. Her normals are good but god her airdash is so bad. Any advice for Hsien as point?
faultydefense Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 you need a team that will keep her from getting zoned out. I know gong reflects projectiles, but if u get the life lead a good chunk of the cast can run from her without having to attack once or take much chip dmg if you see someone spamming the invuln hko assist, same thing, just run away, use fireballs and ranged supers to kill her safely as opposed to trying to duke it out imo she's scarier on point cuz gong completely shuts down most attempts to rush her down, but she can only be played with good assists, having her for the invuln assist is relying on the other person to not adjust or leaving it up to chance
Blade Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 Well, got some more time in this afternoon but it's gonna be a while before I "get" this....since I'm broke. Zero's pretty good for Rushdown, even if his HP isn't that great. I held a lot of people down with his pressure, which is better than Wolverine's IMO (which is wrong on so many levels). Team Aircombos are pretty much freestyling to me (unless you can think of a reason why bouncing someone off the ground or further into the air does more damage?). Arthur and Amaterasu are fun in their own ways, although they don't look like they take rushdown very well (aside from Advancing Guard I mean). As much as people like Dante, I still find his normals awkward to get used to. Ryu and Akuma seem okay now that I've gotten used to how their normals work (though I miss Ryu's Roundhouse). Akuma's Hyakkishu (that leaping move thing with air options) seems vastly improved for rushdown purposes. I like how Akuma has beam and shotgun versions of Shinkuu Gou Hadou, both do different kinds of damage depending on if you're in the air or on the ground, which is actually nice. Beam works better in the air, shotgun works better on the ground. I'm a little miffed that only Viper got a Focus attack ability, Ryu needs that for Shin Shoryuken, IMO. Storm was fun when I played her, but her big Typhoon moves feel delayed and don't work in some situations to me...also Lightning Storm's range seems wrong. I'm having a lot more fun with Morrigan too, since 22+AA and her Flying ability just makes her combos feel much more freestyle and fun (more noticeably so vs Sentinel or Hulk). Just wish she still had her old Bat Beam Super as that one just looked better. Sighhh....still no word on DLC character info...I think I'll wait a bit longer (maybe BBCS2 will come sooner so I can be distracted by that).
Afrikaan Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 (edited) I can't believe I'm saying this, but there's an assload of phoenixes online. I've yet to see a single one do anything other than spam her jabs/magicseries and random Phoenix Infernos. Usually paired with Sentinels, which IMO doesn't make too much sense considering 50Sent can be a massive meter hog. Thanks to my nigger-ness I think I'm actually somewhat decent at the game after like 340+ matches played (86% win rate). Ranked is still a clusterfuck of random spammers of one-trick ponies (Oh boy, Hadengeki mixups, like I haven't seen and been blocking those the past year or so in TvC) With the occasional kick-ass player but it's getting there, and Player Matches tend to be lol and where I train characters I hope to use in the future. I HATE how Player lobbies are done, I get to watch two ID cards hump each other for about 5-10 minutes until it's my turn and have to deal with 1 second input lag. Personally, I think everyone in the game has a claim to be absolutely ridiculous, yes, even Ryu. Obviously some stick out more than others but I won't say any names (Except Sentinel) We'll see who ends up winning the eventual arms race that is the game evolving (They've even already found the game's first true infinite in Akuma's J.S air tatsu loop.) but as for now at MvC3's base metagame prepare for a shitload of Sentinel. Personally I think anyone with a teleport fucks his game up hard but obviously the Sentinel player can account for that.. EDIT: Also, fuck Capcom, the RQ counter system is still horrible. I still play the same people over and over who continue to ragequit and I've yet to see anything happen about it. It's a failure just like TvC in my eyes. MOAR EDIT: Hsien-Ko's Armor Assist is sweet, but some people need to realize she STILL takes damage. I've literally killed a couple through sheer damage because they got hit by Legion Arrow/HSF supers trying to chip them down. Edited February 21, 2011 by Afrikaan
Prototype909 Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 Didn't Capcom try to go out of there way to remove and prevent infinites? lmfao.
DogsofWar Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 Any overheads in the game? (Aside from jumping in )I find if someone low blocks my combos i can't get do anything to get decent damage out of it. I use Morrigan, Felicia, and Dante... and i havent found any mid-combo overheads.

There are a few select characters that have command overheads (Deadpool, SS, Spencer) but usually certain characters have mixup gimmicks like Magnetos deceptively quick Fly-j.S overhead that force their opponents to be on their toes or die.
Afrikaan Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 focus attack is retarded lol Sweet mother of the Odindick this. I'm surprised more people haven't caught onto this, It's so freaking gdlk. At first I was like:psyduck: then I lol'd :yaaay:
Linear04 Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 I'm surprised more people haven't caught onto this, It's so freaking gdlk. >can dash cancel >absorbs everything >YOURE FUCKEDDD only way to get past it is if your character has a command grab and they can just dc it lol. risk/reward is too broke yo

ATG Warlord Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 viewtiful joe's 6M is a 13 frame overhead :/ ... thought makoto's was fast, this is even faster beyond human reaction limit
JinSaotome Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 Oh man, Arthur's level 3 X Factor + Gold Armor + Scatter Crossbow is the silliest thing if the opponent has no teleports (or is down to their last character) thing does like 10% chip damage, 30% life on hit, and gives you like 25% meter on block and is horribly spammable. Absurd.
OmniSScythe Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 Finding a self-ambiguous cross up with Dante: Fuck yeah! Finding a self-ambiguous cross up unblockable with Dante and Wesker where advance guard can't interrupt the set up: Yes! Yes~! Finding out that I can mash jab for MORE damage mid-combo with Trish:
