blk_mage Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 Also, I am going to be able to go for sure so I'll be able to bring my set up.
Chun Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 The good news is the Microsoft representative got back to me. We are getting 2 XBOX360s, Controllers, and One Copy of BlazBlue. However, they were not able to supply us with Sticks, Displays, or any other material. So this will be on standby for casual setups to get more people playing one another. No $. Sorry for the lack of updates, I would enjoy it if the first post was edited. ~Chun
Mystic d Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 does this mean we're bringing 360 setups as well? or just ps3 still?
Chun Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 Still relying on the setups brought by people, PS3 preferred.
Spirit Juice Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 That's kind of cool I guess, but I'm not sure what they hope to gain from giving us those things.
Mystic d Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 That's kind of cool I guess, but I'm not sure what they hope to gain from giving us those things. it's microsoft's way of supporting the giants
Crosell Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 Well we can just bring an our HDD and a copy BB CS and we will have two more set ups, even if it is just for casuals.

I don't see whats in it for them to do this unless we actually SAID on the stream this is supported by Microsoft, is this person you're contacting... legit? Or kinda shady? Either way I guess thats good news. TODAY'S DROPPED COMBO, BROUGHT TO YOU BY MICROSOFT :3
CopperDabbit Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 I have a question: what is the benefit of keeping our next NCI ranbat the weekend of nov. 5th? A fair number of players are going to be in SoCal for SCR, and the akicon tourney is happening in PNW that weekend as well. It seems to me like the stream is going to be minimal at best anyway. What is the harm of pushing it off a week? Also, WOOO SPONSORS!! I don't give a crap what is in it for them. I will pimp the shit out of microsoft if they're giving us free stuff.
Crosell Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 I do believe because it was suppose to be on the first weekend, and its not just a BB tourney. Gotta give love to those GG and MB players

Well no money from norcal for you.
Dacidbro Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 Yeah, I asked about it a while back, they said the tournament is traditionally first saturday of the month
Chun Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 Keeping it logical; 1/3 of the games do not decide the other 2/3s. Ultimately it's on the tournament organizers for what days they wish, and all of them said the 6th is fine. It has nothing to do with tradition, it's reliant on the people that are organizing.
Honnou Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 Keep it on the 6th. It's also inconvenient to change the date without more notice because many of us have other things scheduled and we all plan to keep the first Saturday of every month available just for this. And yes, ^, the above is true and that it is ultimately the organizers who have the final say. I MIGHT be able to make the 6th now again, depending on whether or not someone can take my shift at work, but the following week is utterly impossible (class I CANNOT skip that is 9am-5pm).
CopperDabbit Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 Ok, I can agree with that assessment and I apologize if I made it sound like I was insinuating that BB was the only important thing at NCI, that was in no way, shape or form what I was trying to communicate. My concern was simply for the number of viewers on the stream, and nothing else.
KatanaDash Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 The stream is for fun, the tournament is what the event is about.
Spirit Juice Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 It's not a big deal if we don't have a lot of viewers on the stream or no stream at all.
Shining Aquas Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 Stream certainly not needed, but much funner times tend to ensue when stream is involved. Is it still at SJSU this Saturday?
Chun Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 Yeah, that would be correct Aquas. I'm tired of the non-updating of this thread so expect a new thread later today.
OrionXElite Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 Well the thread was started by John who is effectively gone and I'm guessing Scott never knew to update anything :P
RinHara5aki Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 Hey Chun, could you remind me what your HDTV was that was pretty much lagless that scott approved of?
