Actually that 1000 heartless battle only has about 15 AI running around at once, and about 985 ultra low poly ultra reduced resolution textures dummies on a path. Also pretty much everything in that game is low res and low poly. Those particular heartless actually basically just have a grey map on them, not even any texture. This allows for less system memory used, but the heartless all look unbelievably simple. Reducing the number of poly's is not worthwhile. Yeah, it can be done, but it will be sloppy, ugly, and maybe even game breaking, unless they want to spend almost as much time developing the ps2 version as they did with the 360 version. Do not expect this to get ported to anything other than MAYBE the ps3. That would just be silly and probably not generate any revenue, making it a stupid waste of time. You're just going to have to trust me on this...it's what I do for a living.

I don't know much about this battle in KH2, but it sounds from the previous poster as if it's still a different situation. It may be much more going on in terms of sheer numbers of entities on screen, but number of entities is unimportant compared to a measurement such as, say, number of drawing primitives. Even if toning the graphics down would make it possible, I don't think we're talking about something simple like losing a few polygons here and there. Does the 360 version of GG2:O have local splitscreen multiplayer? I've only seen videos of online games.

Well, that would be venturing into stuff that I really had no way of knowing, so ya, I'll take your word on it. I just have the general idea of how its done and can postulate such things, but I havn't actually done anything like that yet (Its what Im going to be doing for a living).

I still stand by my original 2d DS idea tho. :eng101:

I thought the game had local splitscreen up to 4 player, and up to 4 players on live? This is just what I gathered from video trailers I've seen. If the 4 player online games were splitscreen...that would be a bit weird, but I think I have seen videos with 4 player splitscreen. I might be wrong.

Oh yeah and the other point I forgot in that KH 1000 heartless battle was...if I recall correctly, the battle takes place on literally one giant plane with no real environment, all one solid colour. It's like a tekken 2 arena or something, only larger. That means no lighting involved, and the ground is probably just one face, making it extremely easy for the ps2 to render.

Don't get me wrong, that was the most epic scene in all of the ps2's history, it's a brilliant piece of game design, however from a technical standpoint, it's still nothing compared to what GG:O has going on in the more intense battles, with all the particles and lighting and high poly characters and environments. Yeah, it can be ported to the ps2, it's just not worth the effort. Although, when they brought GGX to the GBA, that confused me alot, and didn't seem worth the effort...did that game actually turn a profit? They redid all of the sprites for it, basically a new game from scratch. The ps2 port wouldn't be THAT hard to do, but the question is will it be profitable?

GGX GBA had the much sought after COLOR EDIT mode. So Im sure to some fans it was a boon. I probobly woulda bought it back in the day.

Judging from videos its only online multiplayer (up to 4 people). There werent any splitscreen vids that I could find. Theres a fight the cpu mode tho.

@Sephi_hatu If that's your way of justifying the possibility of GG2 on PS2 keep in mind that there's bound to be slowdown and considering the graphic effects of GG2 I'd say that'll really affect it. A better example would be Zone of Enders 2: 2nd Runner.

Lots of graphical effects, but also lots of slowdown. No way GG2 can be handled.

>_<

I gave on the ps2 argument already, that one guy told us how it was, no need to rub it in.

Hmm, maybe the 4 way splitscreen I saw was just showing off multiple characters at once in the video...I'll try to find it, I'm almost positive I saw it though. I'll really be turned off of this game if there isn't even a 2 player split screen option...although I could get my friend to buy a copy and play it sorta splitscreen...picture in picture mode on the tv...with two 360's.

EDIT: Here, this video shows at least 2 player split screen, I think.

I'll try to get it in as high quality as I can, give me a bit of time (later today).

That will be awesome man :D That Man's theme song rocks.

I have been searching on google for the Volume 2 tracklist, but only find the same tracklist that Suzaku posted. I haven't find any other new songs added as he mentioned. =/

Geh, I was going through the youtube videos and trying to translate though the dear Dr. Bird (Dragon!) is using too much kanji in not very clear visual. Of course, my Xbox and copy of GG2 just arrived but I'm working this week, moving next week, and need to play it on a bigger screen (using a dinky old TV right now) to be able to read the text. Jeez, the text is small. XD

And I need to get the hang of Blast Drive. <-- NOT a gamer. :vbang:

Best guess/translation to Cube [According to the Doc, it is an artificially created isolated "space" (area) within the Backyard that "rejects" everything external to it. The rejection has something to do with its internal composition I think which is based on the elements/composition of this world <-- part of that kanji and whatnot I couldn't make out. Paradigm believes it was created by that man, since you can't think of two people existing who can do the impossible. And if it was created by That Man, then one has to wonder, per the Doc, what has/is he doing inside of it.

EDIT: Oh and it was Doc who provisionally named it "Cube". He lives in the same world/plane as the rest of us actually. He just managed to peek into the other side. End EDIT

And that in That Man's perfected GEAR cells (whether this refers in particularly to the 'culminated' GEAR cell in Justice or just in general I'm not sure) there is enough hardware access remaining to the Backyard access programming that it can be analyzed to formulate a means to enter the Backyard. Generally magic is, per Sol, too "soft" (I guess it is already in a higher programming language) to be used to derive that.]

Mission #16

Sol, Izuna & Sin happen upon a whole mob of Valentine's servants. But then Ky and Dr. Paradigm arrive to help out. Also Ky's Army shows up too. Then Ky & Sin have a talk . . . and Sin says something about his mom . . . I think. :psyduck:

Then the mystery portal opens up and Ky & Sin have another moment with sad piano music. :8/:

Mission #17

Sol, Izuna & Dr. P are confronted by That Man and Sol obviously gets super pissed and goes full Gear mode (it ain't pretty) and beats him up a bit. But That Man leaves while keeping open a door to what I assume to be The Backyard. Our heroes run in . . .

Sin's costume under Val's control is badass. Does the player have access to that color too? Hell, it should have been his OG color's. I'm kinda disappointed in Sol's gear form. I wanted it to be scarier and bigger. But it looks good though.
