rallamajoop Posted February 9, 2008 Author Posted February 9, 2008 You say "non-player" characters, but what about the Playable ones? I need to get as complete a listing as possible for Sol, Ky, Izuna, Sin, Valentine, and Dr. Paradigm. I have most of them organized and listed in my Quote Database already just a matter of translating it. (which I'll do later). That includes Movelists/Summons/Servant Moves/etc. Most of that's already up at the Japanese Wiki - move lists, Servants, moves used *by* the Servants - the works. Let me know if you have any trouble navigating and I can point you to the right sections. They've got a decent chunk of voice data on this page too and they've gradually been updating it, though it's a long way from complete.
Akselziys Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 If you guys want to see, I could provide a small sample of the full cover art
Hatred Edge Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 You ask as if we will say no... Post up!!!
Zazz Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 did one of the recent patches unlock Sol's Dragon Install? i was just watching a vid on niconico and suddenly i see Gear Sol plowing through shit and just gunflaming the fuck out of everyone (video was done by some poor Ky player) edit: http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm2303695 he shows up at about 2:34
rallamajoop Posted February 13, 2008 Author Posted February 13, 2008 did one of the recent patches unlock Sol's Dragon Install? i was just watching a vid on niconico and suddenly i see Gear Sol plowing through shit and just gunflaming the fuck out of everyone (video was done by some poor Ky player) edit: http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm2303695 he shows up at about 2:34 Wow, you're not kidding. There was a balance update that came out just yesterday, but I can't see any obvious mention of Gear-Sol in the file for it - or the update before (but maybe I'm just looking in the wrong places or something). Sol has had a version of his Dragon Install since the start, for the record - it's one of the abilities you have to buy with mana, but I'm pretty sure it didn't do THAT last time I saw it. @Akselziys: Thanks for the scan - looks like they had the best part hidden on the back. (Sol's the only one there who's anatomy doesn't scare me. >.>)
Hatred Edge Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 Here it is Sin:"Hi Papa!!! Look what I can do!" Ky:"Son you're bringing shame to the name of Kiske." Sol:"More than you collecting teacups Ky?" Ky:... Sol:"Yeah, I thought so." Sol:"Stand aside. I'll show the kid one place he doesn't want a pole." Ky:"Vapor Thrust?" Sol:"..."
DonMungMung Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 Here it is Ah, that's amazin', thank you <3 Well, this illustration kinda destroys any doubt as to who Sin's parents are: kid's got the blonde hair and love of white 'n blue of Ky, and ridiculous sexual-innuendo poses of Dizzy Gawd, Sol looks fuckin' hot and kinda Asian, or is that just me? (Jesus Ishiwatari, pick a race for the poor guy already!)
rallamajoop Posted February 13, 2008 Author Posted February 13, 2008 Well, this illustration kinda destroys any doubt as to who Sin's parents are: kid's got the blonde hair and love of white 'n blue of Ky, and ridiculous sexual-innuendo poses of half the female GG cast and quite a lot of the male cast too. Fixed that for you. =P Sol does indeed look hot there though. *g*
Overture Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 For some clarification, what is dubbed as the "Backyard" is essentially a higher dimensional plane which holds great sway over the laws of the physical world. What is known as "magic" is actually the manipulation of the Backyard made manifest in the physical plane; the power it holds is so strong that carelessly manipulating it could result in the world's destruction. The Backyard has no "ties" to the Gears, or "That Man", (or anyone really), it's just one of several planes which exist in the GG-verse. I know its late but.. Does the Manga still counts to the story? Maybe what im posting makes no sense...if so, let me know and ill delete it.
Suzaku Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 Yes, it should. The Backyard is just the technical way magic works, and it seems like it probably isn't common knowledge. What mankind discovered was a way to tamper with the Backyard, whether they understood that or not, which produces the results of "magic" in the physical world. Think of it like... Well, you're playing a game on your computer. The game is like the physical world. But if you were to get into the code running the game, that's like the Backyard. You could alter the code to make something happen in the game. The Backyard is basically like the "code" for the real world.
Zazz Posted February 23, 2008 Posted February 23, 2008 GG2 can't be THAT unpopular in japan . . . not when there's DANSEN!
Necrosis Posted February 23, 2008 Posted February 23, 2008 As with the mugen thread, I'd love to watch that, but damnit I can't figure out how nicovideo works. No one told me there either.
calintz Posted February 26, 2008 Posted February 26, 2008 wow... what a huge thread... i found the demo on the Japanese Xbox Live Marketplace - and its about 700mb... is it worth downloading and playing?
bungiefan Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 As with the mugen thread, I'd love to watch that, but damnit I can't figure out how nicovideo works. No one told me there either. The tutorial posted on NeoGAF has been linked here in several threads linking to NicoVideo pages. It's not that hard to figure out. The last link to the tutorial I remember was in this very thread.
Akira Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 First championship: Burst Out Concert http://www.famitsu.com/game/news/1213993_1124.html
Sephi_hatu Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 First championship: Burst Out Concert http://www.famitsu.com/game/news/1213993_1124.html Actual concert or is that just the name?
Akira Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 It's just a name. All that I could read is that the tourney will be held on April(lazy to read more now XD)
Zazz Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 another clever/silly parody based on GG2. this time its code geass. http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm2535746 now who wants to kill some 11s?
Zazz Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 This has been long overdue, but I found it, courtesy of MiKowaii over at Animelyrics with a little help from Arc System Works User Support. Raven fans, enjoy! nice. did you ever get that full gg2 artbook? i've been looking for full artwork of That Man and anything else that hasn't been seen
Zazz Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 Full artbook? If by that you mean the Dengeki Maou scans, that's been available for a while, I assumed you have those already. Those are the only ones I know of that have That Man and Raven in them. well the scans i've seen don't have That Man i'm referring to the guide where this art came from. Akselziys called it the "GG2 Complete Guide" Here it is
theria Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 I did get it. And I think someone already posted up previously that though it does have some of the drafting art, they're pretty much what was put out in that pamphlet thingy at Comike, scans of which were briefly linked awhile back. The only really significant "new" art was the cover. Oh, and no quote listing as far as I saw, Blade.
Akselziys Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 Here's a sample of the art of That Man/The Man that Zazz was asking for
Suzaku Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 More, please! I don't care if it's the same art that was published in Dengeki Maou, the printing looks to maybe be a bit better quality.
