Oh.. That's Ky's son alright. straight homo poses like Ky's Isuka art.

Ky looks like "Dammit boy stop doing that!"

but yeah i'd love to see some scans. i wonder if any old characters show up in the art.

Yeah, Ky looks kinda shocked 'n embarrassed (I would be too, if I was the papa of Sin haha double meaning zing~!) On a side note, Ishiwatari's coloring has gotten so much more professional <3

I like where his style's gone overall. It's very pleasing to the eye, especially when you compare it to his old stuff.

...Though I adore how he shaded the wrinkles on Sin's crotch. :v:

Guilty Gear 2: Overture Complete Guide is out.

Anyone gonna buy this and scan the artwork and other possible interesting tidbits?

I love the artwork.

btw. i think most girls like to look at pretty guys, doesn't matter if they are gay or not.

Expect ... my best friend, she falls for man with a beard :SL::KL:

I still can't understand her... XD

"A true man needs a beard!! "

I'm actually a fan of his old lineart, but his current coloring is much better (perfect world would be messy/energetic lineart with smooth colorin *_*) Personally dig Ky's hair; been working with markers, and it's really difficult to get that kind of blending!

Anyways, before I get too out of topic, I hope this book has some sketches and clear images of the backgrounds; from the little I've seen, it looks like a lot of time and effort went into those designs.

In real life colors blend; so why shouldn't your marker pen?

Out of curiosity, do any of you guys know if Ishiwatari uses copics? Because his stuff kind of looks like copics, and those blend deliciously. *huggles own set*

I believe I once read an interview with him about his artwork and don't quote me on this but I think he does indeed use Copics.

in the back of the 2000-2007 Guilty Gear arts book he lists himself as a Copic artest. from what i can tell he uses Copic Markers and watercolor pencels.

'Cause Prismacolors bleeds like a woman on her period, and no marker should ever have that kind of characteristic

In all seriousness though, I probably just need to practice more >3>

Anyway, in the pages that rallamajoop scanned from the new artbook, there's a picture of Ishiwatari with some markers that look like Copic pens...

As a huge GG fan, I just buckled down and bought the book to snag any art it may provide :yaaay:

Oohhh, hooray! :yaaay: I might get it myself, considering I don't spoil myself nearly enough. (And I have artbooks/doujins for my other two main fandoms, but nothing for GG.) ...where'dja get it off? I don't usually order shit online. :vbang:

Copics do that too, though to a bit of a lesser extent than Prismas. (I've used both. I switched over to Copics 'cause I'm shit at controlling all media other than Acrylic :vbang: )

I think the problem might be your paper. You should use something slightly heavier--maybe not Bristol Board, 'cause that stuff's expensive, but yeah.

I usually buy all my import books off of Amazon Japan :eng101:

Concur'd. It's really all about the paper whether your copics will bleed or not. It's sad though, since it oft means you have to fork out the extra cash for a high quality sketchbook. D:

She probably understands that metrosexuality is extremely overrated, and that more masculine men are better mates.

Wow, i thought I-no and Sol had the biggest hips in GG. Does anyone know if Sin is French too?

I just received my copy of the GG2 Complete Guide :yaaay: It's mainly a guide, but the cover art extends from the front to the back of the book :keke: There's also an "Extras" section with art from GG2 (though most of it is from that GG2 fanbook from the most recent Comic Market in Japan), but there are some new pages... And at the very end there is an "Interviews" section with Daisuke Ishiwatari and other GG2 co-conspirators :eng101: I'm loving the art! :v:

No quote listings or move lists for non-player characters that I know of, but there is a "Prologue" section along with profiles for all the main characters and one of the main baddies :eng101: And there is concept art for That Man, as well as the "quote" embroidered on his robes and I believe his "word"...
