Yeah thats right in Guilty Gear XX one of Axl low's endings he meets up with "That Man" and finds out from him that Raven is the cause of his timeslipping, and he finds out that Raven is his alternate version and that was diagnosed by Faust or something.

-- Fuck you BioLogIn

But he's not a gear. At the very least, it's never been confirmed by anyone. Stop making shit up.

It was my assumption that Raven was a gear but you're right thats not confirmed. However what exactly is the deal between Raven and Axl?

On a gameplay related note, does anyone know how to issue commands to your troops? I've been trying to get them to attack other bases in the demo, but they just kind of seem to keep chilling at the first location.

Quick question that has probably been asked so many times. Are GGX and GGX2 sidestories (gaidens) or non-canon. I see people saying canon in this site but in others they go, never happened. Which one is it? I want a definite answer that says canon or non-canon...please?

Well, from what I gather, I was thinking that the GGX2 series is definitely a gaiden. It happened and was canon, but it doesn't really relate to the main story, which is between Sol,Ky, and those involved in the War of the Gears

They're canon sidestories. In the interview with Ishiwatari, he specifically stated "gaiden". They're part of official canon, but not part of the main storyline. I guess that's what the By Your Side "G GEAR" subtitle was supposed to indicate.

apparently some new GG2 DLC came out recently. a new multiplayer stage "The Holy Knights' Fortress" (a nice looking green forest type area) and Sol's EX costume (which is him but just without his overcoat like at the end of GG2 story mode)

If Ishiwatari made the art that's on the pillow, I woulda bought ten, no joke. Instead we get some shitty rendition of Valentine, gross. I know that they were selling the artbook in a pack (my good friend got it for me :3 ), but I wonder if there's going to be any pre-order bonus/anything awesome once Overture's out to the States. It's almost fall here, and I haven't really heard anything regarding the release date. I just hope they'll be making commercials or somethin' EDIT: Wait, fuck, this isn't the US Overture topic? Shit!

Does he even do the art for the game? In any case, if you don't like the art for the pillow case then you shouldn't be buying pillow cases cause generally that's the art style. With a game as small fry as Overture, there will be a 99% chance that the guys porting it aren't going to give a shit into putting extra effort for like 5 people. You know who you are. The game itself will be something for people to fanwank over since pretty much most of the players in japan and the US have already condemn it as shit. I'll probably buy it just to support akesyls(however the hell you spell their name) for being so fantastic as to bringing over great obscure games like Castle of Shikigami 3. You gotta show love cause they're doing it for the people, not the money that's for sure. A solid ad that would get people to buy the game would be to include the soundtrack. Buy the OST, get the game free. Gamestop would be filled right up with brand new used copies. :psyduck: :psyduck: :psyduck: :psyduck: :psyduck: :psyduck: :psyduck: :psyduck:

That's a habit of Daisuke's...he draws em bad first, then gets better at drawing em. :I:

Oh so you know him personally then? In any case, It's highly doubtful that he did the art for the pillow case.

I think he does the initial character designs and that's it

Most of the official artwork is done by other artists. Which is why the styles change so much between games

So wait he plans on making more Overtures?

Anyways, bro got a 360, so I'll probably pick this up if only for the story mode

I'd rather see AC plus get translated though. At least on PSP

On the topic of art in guilty gear, he does a lot of it (Daisuke). He designed the characters, yes, but he also does alot of other stuff. The covers for all the Jap releases were by him. Various promotional pieces were also by him (the Order Sol under the blue sky was one of my favs). He did the character select art in some of the earlier games, but I dont think he does them now. Pretty much all of the unlockable art isnt by him.

Yeah I don't think he does any of the art in the games anymore other than initial character designs. Unlockable art in AC+ are done by various artists and doujin artists whose works I'm familiar with.

Unless you can read japanese bucklemyshoe, you'll be hard pressed to find that pillow case online. Even then you're going to be paying out of your ass. I asked my friend who went to Japan to find me some Ikkitousen pillow cases. 200+ USD and that's in Akiba. On places like Yahoo Auction expect to pay at least 300-400. But you may luck out as some of the lesser popular ones go for cheap while popular ones like Ikkitousen, Fate/Stay are hella expensive. Do you have the pillow for the pillow case though?

That would truly be a waste since some of the pillows are made of really nice material such as silk. Personally I'm not a big enough fan to buy a 400$ silk poster. Pillow's really comfy though. :psyduck: :psyduck: :psyduck: :psyduck: :psyduck: :psyduck: :psyduck: :psyduck:

GG2 content was just released on the U.S. Marketplace. Themes, Icons, Gamerpics etc. are available. Also, this month's EGM has a review of the game: it received a C-. Considering that there's reviews for the game out, perhaps the game will be released soon?

Daisuke did all the concept art for every GG game (except judgement). This includes, character designs, environment design, drafting (drawing all the moves, keyframes, etc.), and most promotional art. He also did the character select portraits up until slash, then they hired some other person to do it for Accent Core (And it shows >_>). The unlockable art is ALWAYS by other artists, as a kind of fan service/tribute/place for the other artists working on the game to show off. For Overture specifically, he once again did character designs and environment concepts, but I believe that was about it (since it's a 3D game, he doesn't have to do as much). I think this is why some of the animation is Overture is a little odd, like how Sol runs looks really weird and such. I still say Valentines freaking adorable though.

Like it's been said before, both of them are parallel existances.

Raven is the result of something Axl does. That something apparently results in

a horn through the head... :psyduck:

Axl is the past, Raven is the future, albeit one from an entirely different timeline/reality.

You originally had GG1, then the timeline introduced in the one Drama CD where Dizzy

went evil and was leading the Gears parallel to Sol leading the resistance. That was

the "correct" timeline.

Once I-no showed up and saved Ky, time/reality was shifted. So the Raven in that

world, aka Axl Low, was brought into the *new* timeline, the one with our normal

looking Axl.

And well, since you can't have two of the same person in the same realm of existence,

*insert chaos theory here*, one off-sets the other, a.k.a. Axl being forced to time slip.

I would assume that if something were to ever happen to Raven, Axl wouldn't be caught

in a time loop. But then again, time travel, shoot, any science-fiction involving time

is just...hell I'll let the emoticon speak for itself. ---> :vbang:

There's also the matter of Crow, the PWAB guy making Justice replicas in AC+, to consider. He's got the same voice actor as Raven, and, well, his name... that can't be a coincidence.

Since Valentine is supposed to be a copy of Aria, and Aria is supposed to be Justice, and That Man and Raven discuss the fact that more Valentines are being produced at the end of Overture, I think we're possibly coming to the oft-predicted future disaster that would require humans and Gears to fight side by side.

Raven is the result of something Axl does. That something apparently results in

a horn through the head... :psyduck:

He probably put the spike there himself, being the indestructible, unfeeling, masochistic kinda guy he is.
