GenoWhirl Posted September 10, 2010 Author Posted September 10, 2010 CH 2C, 1D, 6A, Lilly, j.2C lvl3 bounce, summon George, 3C(1), Sword Iris, 6C, j.C, land, j.C, j.C, A-Lobelia 5350 damage Ao why is he using sword iris, to not prorate the combo? I don't see them summoning a lobelia anywhere
Varamathras Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 CH 2C, 1D, 6A, Lilly, j.2C lvl3 bounce, summon George, 3C(1), Sword Iris, 6C, j.C, land, j.C, j.C, A-Lobelia 5350 damage Ao why is he using sword iris, to not prorate the combo? I don't see them summoning a lobelia anywhere In the main loketest thread it's been confirmed there was another 3c a-lobelia before sword iris.
GenoWhirl Posted September 11, 2010 Author Posted September 11, 2010 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OcOi2LEp1X0 TD is still in the game I guess
checkplus Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 Tempest dahlia? what the heck is that? [i think he means it's been removed]. TD is still in the game I guess Maybe they changed the name, that would be a buff.
tofurr Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 So lobelias are slow now, but not CT slow.
crazycrackers Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Tempest's projectiles looked a shit ton faster lol
crazycrackers Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Nope, whatever the case though, this patch is very promising for Rachel. I just find it strange that they added back j.2c being normal cancelable when it lands. Not that I'm complaining, because I love CT Rachel mixup/lockdown, but I sort of thought they were trying to have rachel go in the direction of a good TRAPS character, not a traps character that has crazy ass mixup/lockdown as well.
Kuuhaku Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 I don't think they really know what the hell to do with her. If she was meant to be a trap character, then in CS they would have actually given her scary traps instead of sadlife. But I don't mind. Rachel being a hybrid character actually makes her interesting. That's what I liked about her in CT. She had options and you could either play her as a zoning character (except against V-13 who'd kill your face for it), or do crazy (and broken) rush and lock down. A lot of Rachel's crazy shit came from the guard system in CT though. In CS since j2C doesn't take off primer, IMO it's fine for it to normal cancel on block. I'm just glad her gameplay is no longer going to be turtle turtle run away and spam jA cannon and sword iris and do sad mixup and hope they get hit... oh wait, you got hit- gg.
choysauce Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 i agree with j2c being cancelable on block, at least they aren't give it special canceability in the air back like they did in CT, cuz every ender for her air combo was, j2c pumpkin right over their knockdown, super free oki setup. if they keep the wind nerf changes, then u get like 1 or 2 chances to do the fastest overhead in the game. but after that you gotta wait it out for ur wind and play solid defense. but one thing they need to add is she needs one more guard primer. she has to block so much. her reversal is super baitable and ppl can just throw it/RC it. orr i think they need to make it so that wind affects the opponent's movement a little more in a neutral situation, so if you guess the gap right, you can forward wind and push them back enough to jump out and fly awayyyy right out of the corner. lol ima start using that more often right now, to see if it is viable.
Jason D. Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 On that note, is her j.2C even a fast overhead anymore? I can't say I've been doing 5B, jump cancel, j.3CD a lot in CS, but long ago when I was checking this I recall that it wouldn't actually combo, like it did in CT. So if they did slow it down, then yeah, seems like a fair overhead to me. I mean, the jump is still a dead giveaway that a high is coming.
tofurr Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 Yeah, it doesn't combo together, but that might be different for these loktests.
GenoWhirl Posted September 14, 2010 Author Posted September 14, 2010 in CS you can only combo out of j.2C with a CH in the corner on a crouching opponent Unless you have a pumpkin out.

Hombow Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 I can't believe Rachel is getting alot of buffs. I'm sooo happy T_T. I actually never played CS just because of all her nerfs.
Alzarath Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 On that note, is her j.2C even a fast overhead anymore? Kuuhaku Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 Only if you have pumpkin out or if you're in the corner and there's a rod. Unless it's Hazama (and whatever characters that have weird hitboxes like Hazama) crouching in the corner. One of Mao Dong's newer combo videos showed a j2C 5B 6CD loop. Too bad it's only those specific setups though.
Soniti Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 He was talking about 5b -> j.3d2c. Not doing a combo AFTER j.2c
choysauce Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 if they're making 5CC move forward without wind, i see alot of rachel players wasting wind when they re-learn her again lol, myself included
Soniti Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 They said it slides, meaning probably only comboable without wind in the corner?
Jason D. Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 Someone first said that it slides, and then someone else translated the same thing to say that Rachel herself slides forward automatically, i.e. the usual 5CDC thing without having to pay the wind. Personally, I have no idea what's true. And I'm really not going to care anyway until things are final.
checkplus Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 I'm pretty sure they mean that the opponent slides, because they said the same effect happened on a CH 6B. What could be good about that is that it makes it so more combos hit more people, because they all slide the same distance.
Soniti Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 Less character specific combos for Rachel!? What are you doing, Arcsys ;_;
MisterBadguy Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 It's most likely ground slide, considering they're talking about C lobelia combos. Auto 5cdc would honestly be retarded. HEY GUIZE! LETS TAKE AWAY 1/2 THE NEED 4 WIND MANAGMENT LULZ!!!1! Less character specific combos for Rachel!? What are you doing, Arcsys ;_; Agreed. I'm honestly hoping this doesn't stick, though I get why they did it.
