NickExtreme1 Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 So our local arcade got Ex today ... Been playing it a bit more. The Joker ender feels easier to do for some reason (i.e. super jump w[jA jB jA land 5B jA jA jA jB 3c jB]). Also, human Gold Burst option select for those who don't know already (credit to LK for suggesting it): Meaty 2A~5B/2C~6A So you do a 2A which will either gatling to 5B or 2C (your choice), and if it whiffs due to the Gold Burst, your 6A should come out and autoguard the Gold Burst. You can't actually punish the Gold Burst on recovery, but you're in slight frame advantage. Good stuff. I'll find somewhere to put this. Just in case I am not here tomorrow, I'll just like to say Merry Christmas Valkenbros
Leo7 Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 Happy new years Valk forum. I got some more training mode time with Valk last night, but I was rather intoxicated, so I tried sending incoherent emails to myself. I don't understand most of it, but here's what I can decipher. jC RC jC combo: jC RC > jC/jB/jA > j214B > walk 6B > 2C > 6C > 2C > 236C > 2D > w[236B > j236B > 7C~D] > jC > 2A > 5B > 2C > wjA > jC (4560 Damage) I noticed Joker trying to do this combo, and it's a combo that's come up in the Blazblue BBS. It does more damage than doing jC RC > jC > 3C > Jager due to the better proration values (you're going to get about 4.1k if you go the Jager route). Supposedly depending on the character, it may be difficult to do jC > j214B, so you can substitute jB or jA and it makes the combo more stable. I haven't exactly done testing on every character though. Raw Schwarz corner combo to demonstrate the proration buff: 236B > 236B > 5/6D~D > 2C > 6C > 2C > 6B > 2C > j214B > 6D > w[j236A > 236A > 236B > j236B > 7C~D] > jC > 2A > 5B > 2C > wjA > jC Does exactly 5000 damage. Not too shabby. Anyways, I was planning on doing an extensive combo guide with EX Valk, but I can't use my old format cause there are so many more combo routes now. I'll wait till I get training mode to myself.
BigBadBrownBear Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 I am in search of a character with a dive kick to play. I was informed your character had a dive kick. Convince me to play your character in two short sentences.
Sahgren Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 If you mean "dive kick" as in Yun and Rufus dive kicks, Valk doesn't have those. Nobody in BB does. The closest you'll get is probably Ragna, but it's just a regular old dive that generally isn't used in the same fashion as a dive kick. Nobody can (or should be able to) convince you to play the character based off of two short sentences. You have to try him out yourself and see whether you like him or not before making a decision.
goldenxservbot Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 I am in search of a character with a dive kick to play. I was informed your character had a dive kick. Convince me to play your character in two short sentences. S-Tier and Unbeatable. Want to play this game and win without having to put any effort at all this is your guy. (Sadly this is true)
YukiBlue Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 Is Valkenhayn going to be as strong as I believe? He's a pain enough now... I'm considering learning him just so I have a better understanding of what he can and can't do. So consider me a lurking parasite on the valk forums for a few weeks. herpa derpa

But I say dont bother trying to "learn" him since you use Bang who can somewhat hold his own against broken Valk but its a bitch, but do what you will i cant tell you what to do

He was/is one of the strongest characters in CS2, and everyone both above and at his level on the tier lists got nerfed whilst he stayed the same. If you wanna learn him, feel free to post here if you have any questions. Nobody currently plays Valk; I'm personally not going to throw a fit if more people try. @Golden: He's actually been top tier since CS1.

I used this guy since he came out he was A-tier in cs1 all he had to his name was retarded damage thats it, cs2 he gained the wolf pluses in other words mixup and extend he received no changes at all compared to the nerfs the other characters received which makes him to continue to be S-tier for that purpose If people want to use him go ahead i dont care i knew it was going to happen and it already did since cs2 all im going to do is expose them for "tier whoring", at least in this game it takes a bit longer to get good with top tier unlike the stupid capcom games (ssf4 and mahbowl) but nonetheless to the guy wanting to learn this character is easy to do combos with and thats all you need to win in this stupid game know when to hit successfully at random hits and learn how to block overheads
YukiBlue Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 Hmm, The Tierwhore labelling is everywhere now, Mu Boards, Valk Boards Whatever. I can play a lot of characters, Aside from Valkenhayn, Rachel and Tsubaki I've played everyone a few hundred times, It makes the game easier when you have personal experience. I'm not subbing him or anything, I won't even play him (Not that I need justification) But I would like help with specific matchups, and an understanding of his options.
Sahgren Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 It's the year 2012, play whom you want to play and ask what you want to ask. People who would insult you over something as stupid as choosing to learn a character in a video game aren't worth listening to. All else fails, the world ends at the end of this year anyways. Are there any questions you'd like to ask now?
Leo7 Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 Goldenxservbot exposing fraudulent tierwhores wherever he goes. Love ya bro. Sent from my Nexus S using Tapatalk

Leo7 Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 So I foundo out it's easier to do jC > land 5B relaunch on Makoto, but it's required because of you try to do jC > land 2A > 5B > 2C relaunch on Makoto, the 2C will whiff :/. Just wondering, anyone else playing with Extend Valkenhayn here or no ...
Kiba Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 Thanks for that Leo. I'm having a session/tournament? this week so having that info is good shit. I will be joining you guys in EX soon.
