Mizzet Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 I'm honestly wondering how Mu is going to ever start a proper combo without 3c 2b pickup. You can do 5c 6c on crouch and that's it if I didn't forget anything, I don't play Mu often so perhaps I did. You need to land some kind of launcher and that's pretty much 6c now. I'm guessing she will have some other way to launch that's accessible and replaces 3c 2b if the latter becomes invalidated, can't imagine how you would ever get any damage otherwise.

I don't like the idea of having to run around, trying to poke people out of attacks while hoping to hear that annoying announcer voice scream "COUNTAH" so I can get off a semi-decent damaging combo. orz Anyways, that right there. Oh yes, j.2C into 6B...I like that, I like that quite a lot. Make it so Arcsys.

Mizzet Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 Mu: + 2C > 6C combos on standing. Ta dahhh I'm worried though that launching someone with 6c from ground level after 2c - as opposed to 3c 2b - will limit what you can follow up with as they start out much lower and reach the floor quicker.

Shockna Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 If they're letting Ragna do 22C off 3C, I don't see why they can't just reduce the recovery from Mu's 3C so we could still do 2B off it. Will the new combo allow us to still do the same combos? 2C - 6C seems like it'd be similar to the existing 3C - 2B - 5C - 6C - xD - j.c - Whatever combos in terms of how the air time actually works. The reason I said you could GTFO is, after a string of pressure (5B>2BxN stuff) you could always go into 2C and jump. Currently if you did 2C, you'd be giving up a potential hit. Not a big difference but I like my standard block string to end on a + move or a JC-able one. Now if we get 2C to launch a bit on non-CH we're in business. Also, the adding more air unblockables is a good change. Make it so jumping out of pressure is something the other player will actually have to think about, and take a risk doing.

By 3C no longer being "techable," this means we can no longer use 3C > 2B to get our combos working right? Instead we now have to use 2C > 6C? This is...............going to hurt.

Mu doesn't rely on 3C>2B so much as she relies on combing into 6C, because after landing 6C all kinds of games become possible. The new combo will likely look like this 2A>[5B>2B]xn>(5C)>2C>6C>games. Also, you could JC the 2C for safety. This does however, eliminate 3C>6A>6C>214D wiff combos, but those were very situational so it's not a big loss. Also, somebody posted something in the general loketest discussion about her loops and dash 2B not working. As far as I know there have been no changes to j2C so all her loops and Dash2B pickups after j2C should work just fine, and the 2B>2C link will add a smidgen of damage.
Aginor Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 Do also keep in mind when you discuss about 6c into stuff that, if you were to do xx 2c 6c, it won't launch the opponent as high as 2b 5c 6c since 2b actually picks them off the ground. So pretty much we'd still have to come up with new set ups or you can push them away and put the game to neutral with 63214c.

Besides that, if they're really trying to reduce comboability (hope I spelled that right :S) on chars, then it might no be so bad in comparison. Still, there's 1 more loketest to go + final build so nothing is etched in stone. What I AM worried about though is her corner game...everyone seems to be getting some extent of corner rape...I dont see it happening with Mu the way she is now :S
