Zeromus_X Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 (edited) I really hope SoD (full charge) still wallbounces, though I haven't seen any Mus use those combos in the videos even after a guard crush, so...=/. Related to that (didn't notice this till just now), SoD is air unblockable on every level, as this Jin found out trying to jump out of the corner. So now we have 5B, 6A, 6B, 5C, 2C, and SoD all air unblockable, so gdlk Edited January 2, 2011 by Zeromus_X
Silfer Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 Quick question: Is it just me, or does the laser from 236D travel considerably faster?
MainG_Jago Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 (edited) SOD lvl3/4 Frame advantage, is it still in play in CS2? all versions of SOD give corner bounds no more slide except maybe from full screen on lvl2 but in the corner it is a bounce im sure. Edited January 3, 2011 by MainG_Jago
Zeromus_X Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TpnuFeL8hYY#t=8m45s Looks like 5B might've gotten more hitstun/level increase? At least I don't remember 5B JC/HJC jB working in CS1.
SolarMisae Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Wow that was pretty nice actually. :3 The more I see of this the more excited I am for CS2 Mu~
Zeromus_X Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 She is looking sooo good. Practically got nothing but buffs and it doesn't look like she has any matchups so far. I won't be surprised if she ends up high tier by the end.
NumeroGaijin Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Which video was this? Edit: Nvm, that kind of sucks...but 3 GP breaking is kind of ridiculous in this new game She could it in cs1 so that isn't anything new. I remember a friend of mine broke 4 of my primer on a legit wake up oki as Mu. But I do agree.
Zeromus_X Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Oh, I know it breaks 3 in CS1 (<3 breaking 3 primers + long blockstun). I should have clarified, "but 3 GP breaking would be/does sound ridiculous in CS2"
NumeroGaijin Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 What makes it ridiculous is the fact that she does it in a regular block string just off a couple of moves
FlyingVe Posted January 4, 2011 Author Posted January 4, 2011 it doesn't look like she has any matchups so far. I won't be surprised if she ends up high tier by the end. This is my favorite part about the new game. For the most part I don't see any god awful match-ups (except a few, like Mu vs Tager). I will enjoy always feeling like I have a chance. However, I don't see her having that capabilities to be high tier. She just doesn't have a great way to hit people, and her damage output away from the corner is hilariously bad. Also, I've seen some newer vids and I'm almost certain that lvl3 SoD still gives frame advantage, maybe even more than before.
SolarMisae Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 She has definitely become more solid then she was previously, and thats pretty awesome. Not having any truly bad matchups is definitely a step up. That alone to me is more than enough even if she doesn't make it to high tier.
Aginor Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 I think haz will still be a bad matchup for her. 6.5-3.5 or 6-4 in haz's favor. No question about it.
FlyingVe Posted January 5, 2011 Author Posted January 5, 2011 Could be, the problem in that matchup was always the chains, and those have gotten better. However, the fact that his abare got nerfed means that you won't get smashed off of one hit anymore, and now that your steins are better maybe you won't get out zoned as badly. Still a bad matchup (probably) but I don't see it being worse than 6-4.
Vecayse Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 So who are the best JP Mu players atm? The only videos I've seen of Mu is a player called Kei who is pretty good and another player called Blacky who isn't so good.
Zeromus_X Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 (edited) Definitely keep your eye on 凪緒 (Nao), best Mu so far imo, but there aren't many videos of them yet. 0 and Susuki are also decent. Check out the video thread. Edited January 6, 2011 by Zeromus_X
FlyingVe Posted January 6, 2011 Author Posted January 6, 2011 Nao and 0 are the two best I've seen. 0 has really good fundamentals and spacing while Nao seems to know the character really well. However, i still see lots of room for development in Japanese Mu, for example, only today have I seen a Mu actively comboing into explosions (when possible) for bigger damage and setups.
Vecayse Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Yeah I just watched them both. Nao seems to know his shit with Mu, best I've seen so far now lol
Vecayse Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 Anyone know if the following works in CS2: 5b, 2c, 5c, 3c, 2b, 5c, 6c, whatever
FlyingVe Posted January 7, 2011 Author Posted January 7, 2011 3C is techable now. So you can't 3C>2B unless the 3C is a counterhit. In CS2, you either want to end ground combos in SoD, or 6C(if crouching, positioning dependent).
Vecayse Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 Oh shit so that's what "techable" means I didn't get that change at first. Well that kinda sucks. So is it possible to do stuff like 5b, 2c, 5c, 6c? Also what combos can you do that end in SoD?
Edalborez Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 (edited) 5C>6C (and grounded 6C in general) only works on crouchers on normal hit. (edit: CH 5C>6C should still work). 3C>SoD works. Any short string ending in 5C can go into SoD also. From what little I know anyways. Edited January 7, 2011 by Edalborez
TD Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 no you cannot. MAYBE if theyre crouching... you can do anything into ...5c (2c) SoD.
Vecayse Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 So you cannot combo in to 6C off normal hit then. Is there anything you can do after comboing in SoD midscreen? I know there are some follow ups in the corner as I have seen them in videos. Correct me if I'm wrong but, you can't follow up after SoD in the corner in CS1 can you?
Toaster Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 You are correct. In CS1 you can't combo after SoD unless it's level 3. In CS2 you can combo off any level if it's in the corner. I don't know if Level 3 SoD still wall bounces though. Has anyone confirmed that?
FlyingVe Posted January 8, 2011 Author Posted January 8, 2011 I have seen what I believe to be a level 3 (it's impossible to be certain), and it just corner-bounded like the other versions. Frame advantage id definitely still there, and it looks like a bit more than before. Also, for completeness sake, in CS1 you could combo off a lvl2 FC mid-screen, and I believe a regular lvl2 in the corner. However, these situations don't really come up in real matches.
