As for another reason why BBCSII could be taking so long for consoles is that maybe they're adding more stuff that they haven't already. They need to probably add different missions in challenge mode for CSII and possibly some other stuff too. But BBCSII for arcades as a timed exclusive still makes the most sense.

Anyway, I can't wait to see Platinum as time goes on and people discover better BnBs and strategies for her.

This is similar to my theory, in order to get the most effective challenge mode combos, they will let the pros handle it at the arcade for 3 months, put the combos that the pros do in challenge mode, and send it out for consoles.

Just thought of something that may or may not already be known.

Say Platinum uses CDT and it doesn't combo. Could a long reach attack like Haku's 4C hit her out of it, or would it just clash? I'm just thinking if it works similar enough to Magna-Tech Wheel.

I hope this is the reason for the delay its the most justifiable. It calms me down pretty much, still think makoto or valk should of went last though. I just realized we had seen all install items except Excaliborg.

They released challenge combos for both valk and makoto even though they weren't in the arcade. Remember that video of plat in the last bururaji? That came out on the 9th, the day CS2 was released? That had 3 combos including her install fan combo? They already have combos for her. The arcade version needs to make money first. That's the only reason why plat/the patch haven't come out yet. They chose spring cause they don't want to keep their international console customers waiting too long (since we can't get cabinets). Don't forget we already have CS. CS2 is just an update. Were this BB3 then the release would have been around christmas, or possibly early 2012.

True, but the DLC challenge combos were very sub par, if Makoto would have been playable in the arcades, I could see Makoto having parry loop challenges.

The challenge mode combos are simply there to show you the character's combo potential/ability. Finding out the rest is where we come in. Showing us everything takes out the fun in discovery.

I doubt they would have put parry loop challenges. Arc hates loops, and certainly wouldn't encourage it by actually including a challenge for it.

Arakune, seriously. his last challenges are all variations of his curse loop. Noel's challenge 10 is her haida loop, Lambda's challenge 9 is her TK loop. So yeah, they encouraged it.

There's a difference between a "broken loop", and an ordinary loop. Arakune is like carl. His combos are in the form of loops. Noel's haida loop has been reduced in CS2 (still there but not CS1 like). Lambda's was reduced as well. These are ordinary loops. They do not break the character design nor do they yield too much reward for 0 risk.

Carl's throw loop in CT was broken, and arc didn't like it. Taos CS1 taunt loop was broken and taken out. Makotos parry loop was broken and taken out as well. You see the different from these and those? Risk vs reward. Get by CT carls 2a, or any random hit for that matter, and you have to burst. Get by any anything tao has, and you get taunt loop. Get hit by makotos 2a, or any random hit for that matter, and the damage return was stupid.

Arc doesn't like loops that break a characters design.

I must agree with Luna.

Yeah, they took out pretty much all of the loops in CS2, but that doesn't change the fact that they put them in CS1's challenge mode.

Take note that CT was released in arcades in Japan and America in November. Consoles didn't get it until the end of June. CS1 was released in Japan on nearly the exact date while consoles didn't get it until July (July 1st for Japan and July 27th for America).

CSII came out early this month, so ArcSys, by pattern, would release it to consoles somewhere in June or July.

When you think about it, the wait for CSII isn't as bad as it used to be. Then again, it's just a patch and not an entirely new installment.

They did that to match up with the arcade version. The console version of a FG is not the standard version, the arcade version is. If the console version is even slightly different, then no one would play it. The only reason why carl's throw loop wasn't taken out in console was to be arcade perfect. Unlike consoles, arcade cabinets can't just download a patch to fix a simple bug. They would have to replace the boards of every BB cabinet in Japan, and international buyers would also have to buy new boards as well. Just for 1 simple bug fix? Then 2 month down the road another bug is found again and they have to repeat the process? That's a waste of money. No company is that stupid. That's why you see so many fighting games with bugs/loops in them that can be easily fixed, but aren't. Cabinets aren't consoles.

That's the beauty of nesica. I'm assuming games can be patched through it, so if anything needs fixing asap, a patch can be downloaded into the cabinets, and no one has to wait till the next revision anymore.

OK, I agree with all of that.

But that isn't what we are arguing about. :psyduck:

Guys, guys don't argue. The point of the delay doesn't really matter now seeing as its already happening to us. The point is that we must wait and be faithful to our future favorite character. It's only a week in and we're all about to be driven up a wall. T_T

We were talking about why certain characters still had loops in the console version (challenge mode combos), and you wondered why arc didn't just fix it if they didn't like it. Well my post explained why. They didn't want to deviate from the arcade version so they left it in, and decided a system update (CS2) would be best route to take to fix some loops/top tier BS that ruin the game.

@ starlight: We aren't arguing. I was just trying to clear things up. Other plat players are my brothers and sisters. I would never fight with them. I hope my tone didn't sound like I was arguing. It's impossible to tell someone's tone over the internet

Never wondered why they didn't take it out, I just said they put loops in challenge mode. I even looked at my last posts to make sure I wasn't going crazy. But yeah this isn't an argument, its discussion that relates to the events surrounding Platinum.

Oh okay then my bad then I misunderstood lol. I hope the japanese players start using other colors because I am tired of that miku color, and I am dying to see her GG color and "bright as heck, blinding, barbie dlc pink"color! you know the one thats second to last on the dlc section.

Hahaha, I was gonna reply to you last post, lol, but that would just extend it some more and it's far beyond off topic right now. Lol sorry for taking this thread off track.

Anyway, I really hope they release a combo vid for her real soon. Something tells me you can switch between 2 items mid combo. Like, 5b blah blah > j.D frying pan > blah blah > bubble > 5D bombs.

iirc stunedge said you have to unlock the colors with points. So I don't think we'll see new colors anytime soon.

I think what Luna is saying is that they put the loops in challenge mode, thereby implying that it wasn't a glitch, but that they approved / intended them to be there.

No fighting here. Everything is still hearts and sparkles here in the Platinum thread.

Speaking of colors, finally got to see a different color in action here...and it's the zombie color.

Yeah, you spend NESiCA points to get the DLC colors. May take a while to see all of Plat's colors, but I think I've already seen people using some character's DLC colors.

Edit: Also, doesn't look like Plat was having much fun with the Hakumen matchup. Cat looks like it's pretty hit or miss with Haku especially. It looked safer to use against Tager, but then again, a lot of moves are safer to use against Tager.

My face is re-attached, seems I missed a bit. :psyduck:

I'll go update what I can on the Video index.

I just saw the vid with the zombie color. It looks nice but can I say I have never been more disgusted with watching Tager fight until I saw him land tera-break on Platinum. Also that vid had a hakumen match with it all I can say is we need some anti-hakumen strats soon.
