You just do shippu right after yuki. I'd say time it like you would the kishuu cancel. It usually doesn't take any special timing, I just wanted to wall bounce the Terumi player with the OD wave for lawls so I delayed it a bit.

In previous versions, it used to be just "input shippu follow-up whenever" but in CP, it's a bit stricter.

Speaking of Yukis and Shippus, there seems to be a Shippu frame, right before he slams the sword to the ground, where you can cancel it into Yukikaze. It works as baiting against some distortions, but not against others. Like when they try to avoid your Shippu slam or projectile with an invulnerable start-up. For example, if I do a Shippu to bait a carnage scissors from Ragna, it won't register my Yuki input. If I do it against Azrael's lunge distortion (no idea what it's called), it works. Any idea why?

I decided to challenge myself today and play without drive by unmapping the D button and see where that got me. Why is Hakumen the only character who can still kick ass without his drive?

Likely because it doesn't affect his combos. Pretty sure every other character uses their drive for numerous combos, and would be crippled with out them.

I think the only time I really saw myself using my drive a lot would be against people who tried to jump in on me a lot. 5D tended to work as an anti-air a lot better than 6A or 2C for some reason.

Since we're on the topic of his drive, do all Haku's online seem to just abuse their drive i.e. holding 5D down? I mean, I just can't bring myself to do that. Kisshu > 2A > grab all day nyukka.

It's kind of like Tager with 720. If it whiffs you are fucked anyway so you might as well hold it in case you get lucky.

People got somewhat savvy when I did that, so I toned down when I hold down 5D. I do still catch a lot of stupidity with it though.

I still try to use it like it's old self. If you use the charge as little as possible you can actually escape certain whiffs unscathed.

I've conditioned my local competitors to wait for the extended duration, so they often miss the easy punish when I do the short 5d.  Ha

Hmm just confirmed that the initial prorate for j.A(even j.A come on man), j.2A, j.B, j.2C, and j.C has gone from 90 to 80.

I thought I was doing less damage....

j.a has got to be my favorite anti-air too.  Easily confirmable into Hotaru or even falling j.B > 5c if it's rising j.a

J.c I am surprised about though?  It still does ridiculous damage as a starter

Haku does so much damage on the first hit that I think he doesn't care as much about P1 nerfs.

Basically every single hit in the combo, after the first hit, will do 10% less damage now. but you already started with 1300 damage when you do JC. Compare to 300 with j.A.  His Cs still have some beastly P2s also.

So I have played in 3 tournaments and I have been getting recked. I am having trouble blocking (specially when they mix over and under) and knowing when it is safe to attack. Also I am using C way too many times and losing to bunch of moves and need to work on using a and b and trying to do combos with them. WHen I play against people I find myself blocking 80% of the time. What can I do to improve?

Yeah, when you're first learning, just getting lots of experience is important. Even if we said "do X" you would need experience to apply it.

But some things you can do:

1) Post replays, so we can give tips.

2) Learn and know the purpose of each move, and use them with purpose rather than just flailing around.

3) Whenever you get hit, make a mental note of what you could've done instead to not get hit and try to do that next time.

...I was just thinking about the things we could do with Mugen over the weekend too, get out of my head Omex.

yeah i wasn't focusing on actual combo routes/etc since people can figure that stuff out themselves/there's already content videos of that on the internet (on nico for sure) so it's more about 'why would you even want to do any of this'

The fullscreen OD/Mugen bullshit is hilarious. I've had people literally not know how Mugen works and then attempt to punish me after blocking two waves (since like omg how can you do three in a row?!). Good video.
