SolarMisae Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 I'm pretty sure it combos without CH on Mu. But yeah, I don't fully remember either, I just remember getting hit by it lol.
Domethieus Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Wonder how Tao will turn out at the end of CS2+ loketests...
KM Riku Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 (edited) Wonder how Tao will turn out at the end of CS2+ loketests... The only thing I know that she somehow will have a loop like every other BB, but with the changes so far...I want to drop her even more than before. However, this is just the first loketest...so I'll wait until the final version. Edited August 13, 2011 by KM Riku
Domethieus Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Feels nice when you are able to do AB2 combos consistently.
Cryingvoid Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Dunno about that... as for now, AB2 combos don't make much of a difference from a basic corner combo in terms of damage. It helps a lot if started off some low end starters, like 2a though. Anyway, want more options.

Hitting a 2A is way easier than hitting a j.C or 5B and doing 4.8k from a low with Tao is damn great. My only complain about Tao CS2 is the lack of combo variety...but it doesn't seem like that will change, at least we are going to have another loketest this weekend.
Cryingvoid Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 KM Riku I want it actually to be functionally different. For ex. - to work, when our regular launch starter does not reach after hit confirm. Or else - act as a full combo ender, like in CS1. And I never feel troubled when pressuring in the corner. You can even get the 2C poke in for some 5500 dmg. Straight throw is also very damaging. Maybe I am not the best corner strategist, but I never felt like using 2A's other than for blockstring pressure linking.
Domethieus Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Think a Critique thread would be nice for the Tao boards? Theres a video thread but I thought that was on matches Tao usually wins etc
Ch3äZy Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Sure, that would be nice to have. Anything that contributes to BB or the Tao forum would be beneficial.
Cryingvoid Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 People have posted some videos to the video thread for critique and improvement purposes, so the idea of having two separate threads is nice. Yet if you have a video to get analyzed at the moment, you can post it in the video thread. I personally would love to discuss someone's play. CS2 Tao isn't that popular as CS1 Tao was, so not much hype on her forums these times.
XDest Posted September 11, 2011 Author Posted September 11, 2011 Are you implying that Taokaka has ever been a popular character?
Cryingvoid Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 But she was more popular at CS1 times. All that hype around tricky tauntloop and her glorious midscreen damage. Even in CT people were kinda exited around her 1-2 taunt combos. Well, maybe it is just me seeing things like this, but still.
Domethieus Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 It might be nice but imo, there really isn't enough people to get the thread alive even if it does get started. But, that's what I think. Her tauntloop in CS1 was interesting.
NeoGio0o Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 Well it looks like izayoi got eliminated by Gaileo making this assumption based on the soul fact I have never once seen Nezu beat izayoi in CS2.(lol low tier)
Cryingvoid Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 If it is about Tao, she is luckily not low at all. Try playing Mu, when most matchups are in opponent's favor. You'll see how strong Tao is ) I guess, her main problem is the lack of combo creativity. Since she is counter/rushing character, your only fun, playing her, is her combos and movement. And it has always been very rich and variable. So at CS2 people are a little bored I guess. But the damage is still solid mid tier'ed! Midscreen one is even above!
NeoGio0o Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 I was actually talking about bang, IMO I consider tao a better character than valk and LK think Valk is S tier.......But as we all know US tier opinions don't count so umm yea fuck charging star. Tsubaki only character in the game that mashes harder than noel because she can do it full screen
NeoGio0o Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 *Excuse the double post* I have given an in depth opinion on the Valk, bang, hazama, carl match ups and I would like them to be reviewed and deleted if any of the information is wrong in any way. Trying to have information for archive purposes so that some of the newer players can at least get a grasp of how certain match up's should be played. With each BB game the match up doesn't change too drastically so I guess some of it can be of use later on in the future.
milesw Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 Well I main Makoto and to subbing Bang. Im now looking at Taokaka too because her and Bang seem to be the most 'freeist' characters in the game. i just wanna keep the opponent in block stun all day :D
Cryingvoid Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 That's some awesome information you have given on matchups, Neo. I think it is very useful. I haven't played those opponents much, except for Bang and one Valk, who was kept in a blockstun by me. So I don't think I can review them all properly, yet I think it is very useful. I am personally now a bit tired of Tao and am busy developing my sub, Mu. I don't know where XDest, Rin, Riku, Stan and other Tao users have disappeared.
NeoGio0o Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Well since BBEX is already out for japan I'll be sure to finish everything with the match up section soon. Hopefully by the end of the week we should have some form information for every match up, this way we have something concrete in the archive section rather than just a bunch of empty threads. Really looking forward tho the flood of videos that will be coming in this week
XDest Posted October 5, 2011 Author Posted October 5, 2011 Well I main Makoto and to subbing Bang. Im now looking at Taokaka too because her and Bang seem to be the most 'freeist' characters in the game. i just wanna keep the opponent in block stun all day :D Taokaka makes several people into one of the most 'freeist' players in the game, real talk. Taokaka is not for keeping the opponent in blockstun, she's for flying around in a billion different ways at neutral with different delays and speeds to try and force counter hits and whiff punishes. Her pressure isn't too bad though, but it's not Makoto level.
KM Riku Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Kinda back (because of CSEX), I kinda disappeared because I'm damn busy IRL. Few Tao CSEX things from jbbs: -5B->6A still doesn't combo on standing characters; -After a 6B FC, you can j.8D~A 3x; -You still can combo after a j.C on standing characters (thank god) -6C hit after j.2D~B/6A (1hit)/j.C (I don't know if it's CH or not, but I think it is) -After a j.D CH, you still can combo like it was in CS2, but the height change a little. -AB2 combo: 2A->5B->5C->2C->AB2->5B->6C->Cat2->etc (4500dmg); -It seems that CA is whiffing against Hazama 5A...so it was probably nerfed (...wat)
XDest Posted October 5, 2011 Author Posted October 5, 2011 The CA thing is probably the same, the hitbox isn't that big in CS2 either. Is 3C still the same kind of knockback as the loketests? Are we going to have to link 2B->6A for 6A launches now?
NeoGio0o Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ce6G3Qu3eBo&feature=channel_video_title At 00:38 Satsuno does 2B,5C,2C,5D,RC, IAD,J.B how do you do this as whenever I RC 5D Tao won't IAD like that =(. I can't seem to figure it out any help would be appreciated.
