Soniti Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 (edited) JP BBS had posted this a while ago but I wanted video to confirm cause it sounded ridiculous. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJQpsQBH-uA#t=13m39s MIDSCREEN: 5b 5cd 3c 236b 5a 5b air combo 5a looks like a link but that means 5f in BB~ Not sure if Rachel ends up too high to use iris -> land BBL or not, she might be able to pull it off by dropping the 2nd j.b and just doing JC(9) j.c iris. Regardless, this makes for some solid midscreen damage if needed. Edited December 30, 2010 by Soniti
tofurr Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 I haven't seen any j.2c fatal counter combos being used, are they useless now?
currentlemon Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 I haven't seen any j.2c fatal counter combos being used, are they useless now? I don't think so, since it's a corner combo or if you use a cat chair.
Sindelian Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 I haven't seen any j.2c fatal counter combos being used, are they useless now? It was used in this match around 4:40 in the same way it was used in CS1. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cl0IAwczQeQ

For the rest: The combo whiffs on 3c 236b part. Special Mention: Valk and Haku. The combo whiffs on the link 236b 5a, I don't know why, but it seems either the lobelia hits too early or the 5a doesn't have enough range. Since on CS1 it doesn't work on Haz, I'm really hoping it's universal
Soniti Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 I'm actually really surprised it works at all in CS1 O_o. Anyway, here's to hoping it lets us go into super~
Alex073088 Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 buff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! recently discovered by me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cd9PJX9saHE at around 10:14. the pumpkin abosrded jins ice sword and was still present on the screen afterward. In cs1 the pumpkin would disappear after the first contact with any projectil like objects, but in cs2 its no longer the case.

Soniti Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 (edited) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cd9PJX9saHE#t=09m38s Midscreen -> Corner combo, uses 2 wind 5b 6cd j.c (land) 5a 5b 5cdc 214a dash 3c (1) 236a (frog hits) dash 5cc dash 3c (1) 214c 3c (1) pumpkin oki 3071 damage Not sure if you actually have to throw in the 5a after j.c or not, but the proration on it isn't as bad as it used to be anyway. 6c prorates a ton! Edited January 2, 2011 by Soniti
Alex073088 Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 i think that after you rewind it again the hitbox will still be there. I know that in ct, the pumpkin vanishes after absorbing two projectiles. IT should work the same meaning, that nirvanna cant simply cancel out your pumpkin.

According to JBBS, for this combo to work on Platinum and Hakumen you have to do a (presumably 1f) "short" dash before 5a in order to reach them. It's supposedly strict enough that we should forget doing the combo on those two characters. Edited January 3, 2011 by Soniti
Soniti Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 (edited) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3uijlt5yOS8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PYn91sh7sps Some matches with ARiSA. Got some big damage in both videos I believe. In the second video, at 12:35, 6b air unblockable. Didn't know if that was known yet. A few moments later, at 12:39, did 5b>5cd>3c8d>5b>j.c>j.2d>JC>lv2 j.2c>frog>5b... The lv2 j.2c is Rachel's new shiny toy. About time I got more video footage to prove the thing i said a while back: JBBS have been posting some interesting combos. Stuff like ~ air combo lvl 2 j.2c (land) frog delay 5b (frog hits) ~. It may be possible to get a super with a pole from an air combo via this. 5b (frog hits) 236a dash 6a super or something. They also have been talking crazy stuff like going from 6b hitting on an air opponent to a level 2 j.2c connecting O_o. And chair combos have become more epic. 2c (ch) 2d sj(9) j.2c (level 2) ~ Now I just need to see someone do dash 6a BBL after that 236a... I have no clue why that guy did 236a x2 edit: some analysis-- Looks like compared to CS1, lvl.2 j.2c has longer untech time, or they changed the way it bounces, but either way the result is they are lower (and still unable to tech) when you can connect that 5b. It's also possible they changed something about the way george activates. Edited January 10, 2011 by Soniti
tofurr Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Wasn't it stated that the Gravity in the game was altered too? That could play some affect. Either way, I'm glad lv2 j.2c is our new mid-screen combo to use. I find it fun to use.pull off and look at. Also, ARiSA makes silly mistakes in matches, from what I've seen, but when he's pushed into a corner he gets more focused and tries to run it back.
Junk Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 I also think it's George's activation and hitbox played a role in that combo. In CS1, george's shock won't get a full hit if you combo Haz with 5cdc-frog-5b, but in this vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3uijlt5yOS8 now it fully hits.
tofurr Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 Here's something neat. With a LV 3 or 4 Tempest Dahlia we get a free 50/50 without the opponent seeing it if timed right. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TUJGF0MFNs8#t=11m22s

Kuuhaku Posted February 15, 2011 Author Posted February 15, 2011 actually you can see her blocking it....not the pumpkin That's what I thought at first, but she barriered after she saw it clash (probably was confused as to what happened and barriered on instinct). If she had actually blocked the ice sword, then pumpkin would have gone away. The clash ate the ice sword, but pumpkin still stayed out.
aruren Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 (edited) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L4zU74kRMAY Hi there, randomly posting to help clarify something. Pumpkin gets cancelled out by Jin's air Ice Sword ©. So perhaps there's more to this. Check it out at around 3:37. Rachel dashes toward Jin with Pumpkin gaurding her front but is met with an air Ice Sword © and it cancels each other out. My guess is that our beloved Pumpkin can certainly take out projectiles, but not powerful ones. I hope this can win against Hazama's wretched snake belt. By the way, the video that Alex had pointed out... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cd9PJX9saHE So he pointed out at 10:14 the pumpkin stayed. However, I noticed short after that at 10:16 Rachel gets hit and is about to die but the Pumpkin stays out until the round is over (It stays until 10:17). Now this could just be me not knowing how the fade animation looks like but I'm certain it should disappear the moment Rachel gets hit or blocks. I don't think that happened. So the pumpkin really stays out unless it gets hit by something strong enough now? If anyone can get to the bottom of this, please do so. I'd really like to know. Edited February 26, 2011 by aruren
calendula Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 Something to consider Back in CT and CS1, during air combo and when our opponent's HP is almost out. We often try finsing them off quickly by performing a double lobelia (236a RC 236a) but (236a RC 214c) wont connect. I've been trying this for quite some time now but to no avail. However this CS2 vid prove that it can be done now, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vdxRKoIEQSo#t=1m does the extra hitstun of j.c has something to do with it that made it possible to do (236a RC 214c) ? Or something else
kirbster Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 j.236a RC 214c actually does work after an air combo in CS1, but the timing is strict as fock. I gave up trying to land it in actual matches.
calendula Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 Hmmm Then I guess it's only plausible when you're close enough during j.c when you fire the lobelia. Now that you've said that it can be done then there's no harm in trying again XD
calendula Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Can someone help me confirm this, Is Rachel's 5b has projectile now ? Because I've been playing CS2 on PSP and there was this time when I tried stopping Tager's sledge with it and it made this sound that it hit a projectile then I got counterd.
gli Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 (edited) Rachel's 5B and 2B both have projectile properties. Hakumen can create voids by slashing it and your suspicion when Tager sledged through it confirms this fact. This is evident in the frame data page: CSII Rachel Frame Data Look at the Attribute column. Anything with P is a projectile attributed attack. Edited April 4, 2011 by glirandly
