Teyah Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 TGS posted some Shadow Gallery loop setups earlier, here Aside from direct -K- mixup, you can start the SG loop from CH -S- or CH 2H. Though these can also lead to the 1-hit Shadow Gallery -> UB -> Stun combo, which is much better than the SG loop damage-wise but is also harder to perform.
Teyah Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 From anywhere. Except -S- CH, which is midscreen only and you must hit the opponent when they are not too far off the ground.
Mr.Biscuits Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 New Eddie Player Here! Any tips on how to frc. far drill on stick? I can't seem to get the timing right on this one...><
r0b0t Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 New Eddie Player Here! Any tips on how to frc. far drill on stick? I can't seem to get the timing right on this one...>< i played this character for like only a minute yesterday and mastered this FRC so just sit in training mode, and perform it with block strings or combos not by itself. but theres nothing wrong with it by itself as you need to be able to do this to, to perform that IAD unblockable.
Nhur Posted December 26, 2007 Posted December 26, 2007 hey hello, well i have some questions about Eddie, i am playing with him for learn to use a stick, (and other characters)... well i know the basics.... but now i have 2 questions that i havent found in the posts.. 1- make a imposible dust with D homming jump j.D, J.D, Shadow gallery 1 hit. well i have seen that i need make teh j.Ds very farst but in some characters i cant make it never X:x, and if i can make it.... i only make one good agaist 10 bad LoL. what are teh conditions? i have tried in some characters like baiken make only one j.D or make in the corner, i am little lost, 2- well now ask about some basic stuff LoL, i can make break the law>shadow gallery. i have seen that you make ..... 214(release K) 41236 S but i can make it LoL thanks for your time, now i am learning how make CH nobiru= death XDD thanks teyah!!! man eddie have a huge hitbox!!! eat too many combos XDD T_______T now i am working too in make good mixups with the shadow and live with the tension when the shadow die, thansk for your time !!!

waraboushi Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 Hello, new Eddie pad player here too, with some noob questions: - I'm having trouble connecting the mawaru combo strings, both standing and crouching... Is it really possible to do them by just tapping?? I did once yesterday, but button press went like: ...-K-, r.6p,(pressed K here, between the gatling) 214S, -K-... - The SG loop is done with just -K- and 1hit SG, right? To connect them you have to just be plain fast, or is there another requirement?? Also, what to do after the reps? Thanks in advance
kanom Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 look in youtube for yuki, he's got only 2 matches and he shows great combos :D

To connect them you have to just be plain fast, or is there another requirement?? Also, what to do after the reps? Thanks in advance I'm not sure what you mean by tapping - you have to hold down the correct buttons (generally all but K), then release K after you hit. For your example, let's say you did the basic 6[K]-214 into -K- on a crouching character, you would then want to follow with 6P(2)-5 (hold S), -K- (press and release K), 6P-5-2[D], -H-. Then IAD or jump in with a j.S for the unblockable. For the SG loop, you just have to catch the enemy very low in the air with a -K-, then you perform { 214[K]41236, -K- } repeatedly. A practical way to set this up would be to do (or combo to) 2D -K- on some characters, or land a 214S CH. You can end the SG loop with an unblockable by doing a running -D-, 22D -> aircombo instead of your last -K-. Or for less damage, you can do that last rep of -K-, but end with a running 2H xx 22D into aircombo.
waraboushi Posted January 27, 2008 Posted January 27, 2008 I see by tapping, I meant to just press the buttons, and don't hold at all, using little eddie's recovery time to do the gatlings, without triggering any other little eddie stuff I don't know if there's prorate or decreasing of stun capability, but you can do the crouching combo without holding buttons like this (which is quite comfortable for pad users :D): ...-K-, 5S, 6P(2)...(just tap K during 6P) and I still can't do the standing mawaru combo... I'm trying the 5P,2P,2K one, but no luck in repeating it... Thank you, Teyah!
Teyah Posted January 27, 2008 Posted January 27, 2008 Oh, so you're not even bothering with the button holding at all? I definitely don't recommend that since while your Eddie combos may still be possible in a watered-down form, maneuvering the shadow and controlling space with its/your attacks is impossible to do properly. Anyway... lucky for you, a good standing followup does exist that you can probably do: -K-(1), 2P, -K-(2), 6P(2 hits), -K-...
waraboushi Posted January 27, 2008 Posted January 27, 2008 It's not that I'm not bothering, but right now, until I get my hands on a proper stick, and to understand eddie's fundamentals, since I'm relatively new to GG series, I'll train the watered down eddie my biggest problem with the ps2 pad would be the only the -K- timing when needed, specially when you need to hold S. thanks for your concern teyah, I hope to properly use eddie soon

Here's a bit on ps2 controls from Teyah's Guide hope it helps. That being said, if you still decide to play on PS2 pad, you may find it easier to make good use of the shoulder buttons. For ease of use, I'd recommend that you remap your buttons in the following way: X = Punch Square = Kick Triangle = Slash R1 = Heavy Slash R2 = Dust The important thing is to have both R1 and R2 assigned to attacks. Swapping the P/K buttons may allow for a more natural flow to your gatlings, but isn't too important.
vxnine Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 how do you do eddies knock down dust? i know its 5D homing jump D D shadow gallery but i can never get the shadow gallery never connects and the person recovers before it even touches them because they are too high i cant see to get the homing D's to connect fast enough? i can only do it sometimes if i mash D and it happens by chance
Teyah Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 Don't mash j.D, just time the first one to come out immediately after you launch up, then do the rest of the combo as a regular dust combo. Although if you fail j.D-D, you can always confirm that you didn't get the first j.D out in time, then transition to j.K-S-H-D or something for at least minimal damage. In this case you can use sword super for knockdown if you're in the correct position for it.

Teyah Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 Yes, hold up during the first two j.Ds, or just all throughout. The first j.D needs to come out immediately after you leave the ground, just keep practicing and you'll get the timing down eventually.
pthug Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 So sorry if this has been asked! 2H CH, 22H, IAD j.H-D (+ sj.K-H-D in corner) I have not connected IAD j.H-D w/o FRC. Any help plz and thank u!
Teyah Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 If you score a Counter Hit (CH) with the 2H, they will be unable to tech. Cancel the 2H into a Far Drill (22H), wait for Eddie to recover, then IAD over with j.H-D to followup. Just make sure to aim your IAD upwards a bit or the j.D won't come out. Timing is a bit tight, but with practice you'll get it!
pthug Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 Thanks Teyah! Not 2 kiss a**, but because of u and the rest of the Eddie crew is the reason I play AC. Your guide is beautiful! Everyone really tries 2 help each other out. Thanks again!!!
Teyah Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 Hey, not a problem. It's always good to see that people are using this info, even if there isn't a lot of discussion going around this forum. Feel free to ask any more questions here, same goes for whoever else may be browsing around this forum and not posting up.
kanom Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 you know why there isn't a lot of discussion? because the guide is very well done and explain almost every important thing about eddie
Guardian Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 Did I help? I hope I did so I can feel special. The new eddie CV on youtube looks pretty cheap btw: http://youtube.com/watch?v=dyt1EUGcMzo
