  8. Thank You for stepping up and starting this thread. I will look over it sometime and add or make any revisions I find necessary.
  9. Marlinpie elaborated on it. Basically it's good for when you're low on shadow meter. The reward for landing it is not very good. I started messing with it because Ogawa used it several times. A decent setup would be -P- invite hell (S or H depending on spacing) > Dead man's hand. Invite hell is good for setting it up because it lets you buffer the 63214D without getting standing dust.
  10. Have been messing around with Deadman's hand. Simply put the move is bad. I suggest messing with it on your ow , but from my experience it's not worth using.
  11. Go ahead and start the thread. I'll edit things later on. Just make sure to explain the notation for button hold and release. I'll be going live on twitch with Zato training mode in about an hour or so. Please come ready with any questions you might have.
  12. I'm very sorry to everyone on here I have been neglecting my duties as the mod on here. It was a for a good cause though! I have been focusing more on getting the game itself out there and not just teaching Zato. To make up for it I will try to hold a weekly Zato stream entirely dedicated to teaching him to newer players. It's a lot easier to answer specific questions while I have the game booted up in front of me! So I'll try to stream the first training mode stream on the 22nd at 12 PM EST. Of course if you can not make it I will upload the archive to youtube like I did the overview. Here's some Marlinpie Zato in the mean time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x08sbv-_zgU Again I'm very sorry to anyone who has been depending on me for info and thank you very much to the active members who have been picking up the slack for me. You guys are the real MVPs.
  13. lol Sorry my bad! People just get really anal over commentary.
  14. There was no intention of commentating the matches, it was recorded during a live stream. That means a lot of bullshit talk with the viewers. Don't like it? mute it simple as that.
  15. @Mynusdono (I-no) vs @Drunkthechicken (Ram) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_JHrHBnDw2E
  16. Rush her down. You can not let her set swords or you will have a very tough time.
  17. Someone is helping to translate some of the JP BBS for combos and such. I will post it when it's done so please hold on tight!
  18. I've been busy just playing. Which is what I recommend to any player. After The event on the 27th I'll make a combo thread now that I'm a lot more comfortable with the character and my hit confirms.
  19. -S- is definitely the best one to unsummon from but of course you want it to make contact so you get all the frame advantage. Make sure to hold button down when unsummoning if you're doing a button press.
  20. -P- > 2(K) -P- > 2(K) is what you want to start with and then go from there. -P- is -3 and 2K is +3 so you can mess around with that and either command throw, extend the string into an unsummon or setup a frame trap. You can confirm any hit of -P- or -2K- into a combo.
  21. Learn Zato's normals in and out. Try to get a feel for them. For example when to use j.K to anti air instead of a 6P or 2HS. When to summon outside of knockdown. When to commit to the buzzsaw instead of -P- or -S-. Develop your muscle memory so that you can execute what you want when you want.
  22. Playing Zato's neutral is actually very difficult. Can you apply everything you've learned in training mode in an actual match? Can you even function with a player constantly pressuring you? Can you consistently hit confirm into damage or a knockdown? Have you played against a competent player who knows the Zato matchup? Post again about his difficulty only after you've played against a good player that isn't scared of Zato.
  23. I'm working on the Elphelt matchup myself. Grenade makes it very hard for you to summon safely in neutral. I recommend you play neutral and secure the knockdown before trying to summon. Her 2p is very fast and mashable so she can safely mash out summons from puddle and in blockstrings. Once you knock her down it becomes a nightmare for her since she has no wakeup outside of cake super. Most of the time just settle for what you can get. Meaning let the shadow get hit and punish her with a knockdown use your meter to extend pressure for example 22H RC.
  24. Instant block and 1 frame jump out or try to 5p/2p out of pressure. If they're iading in and punishing your drill attempts that means you're being predictable with your strings. Instead of going for drill just do 236S and catch them iading in. 6P works as well but requires some timing since it's not very fast but it does have upper body invul. The best way to deal with iads is to air throw but that takes practice to react to air dashes and scoop them. Just keep playing, the more you play the more your game becomes tighter.
