I haven't got any experience with Makoto, but has anyone got a clue why he's only attempting this against this character? Could be a lot of reasons. If he's played against this person a lot, then it could be because they fall for it every time. Other reasons are if you back dash, then Makoto is likely to approach because she doesn't want to give you space to summon crap (without meter Makoto has no ranged moves aside from the orb, and that's not exactly a good move to try to chase Rachel down with... especially when Makoto has better options). Basically, what he's doing is baiting them to try and poke Rachel and punishing with 6CD. 6C is +4 now, so even if you mess up and they block, you're still at advantage.
TD Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 essentially, using 6c from far away, where its startup cant be punished, makes it a 3 frame attack. it's unpunishable and unbeatable unless the foe throws out a move early or has some sort of dp/ body inv. add to the fact that 6c leads to MANY SAFE options, corner carries, and has 100 p1 (you can get 3k from a raw 6c, maybe more in the future) and you have a gdlk poke. same with 3c sorta (but not really). its REALLY good against rushdown characters.

gli Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 Rachel vs. Taokaka still looks annoying. That Rachel lost as soon as she let Taokaka out of the corner in the last round. Once he lost momentum he cracked and at some point resorted to 2C. Perhaps this was caused by the Taokaka's earlier conditioning by doing TRM setups. That Almost Becoming Two combo wow haha. 6A really important in this matchup.

TD Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 4 wind regen combos, gdlk mixup again, can do midscreen with good oki... im hyped. lt seems like right now everyone is trying to find a corner-to-corner combo for each char, as well as a combo that gets the opponent in the corner youre in (which was hard for rach to do before). hers seems a bit impractical, but she still has 6cd l suppose.
