advancedNoob Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 Rest of the cast looks balanced and Hazama looks broken? Wtf, lol. His Houtenjin follow up is a bit too strong, but he is not even close to makoto, noel and jin.
Jourdal Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 Rest of the cast looks balanced and Hazama looks broken? Wtf, lol. His Houtenjin follow up is a bit too strong, but he is not even close to makoto, noel and jin. Wait....Jin? How'd he go up there with the NOL girls...wait how is Kune not mentioned?
GenoWhirl Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 Arakune doesn't exist Jourdal, it's just our imagination That's why no one wants to help Litchi, she's insane. It's like inception but with a FG
Airk Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 Rest of the cast looks balanced and Hazama looks broken? Wtf, lol. His Houtenjin follow up is a bit too strong, but he is not even close to makoto, noel and jin. Each of whom have essentially one game they need to play (particularly Makoto). If Hazama can shut that down, he wins. And he's been winning. a lot. Is it early? Yeah. But this isn't "His super is too strong!" or "No one can compare to his combos" but rather "he gets to pick when he fights and how" and on else really has that option the way he does.
Konner Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 Hazama looks pretty strong, but he doesn't look broken by any means.
advancedNoob Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 Airk, you obviously don't play hazama if you think like that. Each of whom have essentially one game they need to play (particularly Makoto)Define play. Mash 2A until it hits? Jourdal, Arakune needs no mention, lol. He is broken by default.
Konner Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 Is it even possible to not have Arakune be good? The very concept of his design seems like it wouldn't allow for him to be a bad character bar they take out curse and make him fight with lollipops or something (A.K.A. remove everything he was)...
TCSyd Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 They COULD make his out-of-curse even worse, I guess.
advancedNoob Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 Easily, nerf his jB and most arakune's are switching mains.
Mumm-Ra Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 (edited) May god forgive me for this Hazama was S tier in the latest tier lists in the jbbs if I recall correctly, along with Jin, Noel and Makoto. Easily, nerf his jB and most arakune's are switching mains. Already nerfed bro. EDIT: Hahaha Hazama getting 8k out of 5C, fucking hilarious, totally not S tier guys. Edited January 12, 2011 by Mumm-Ra
advancedNoob Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 He needs corner and a shit ton of meter for that. He is definitely A tier, but not S.
huey253 Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 did you just miss the video? he did it midscreen lolz. and he had 50 meter at the end :3
TD Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 He was S in cs1. he got better. most others got worse. hazame GETS GOOD DAMAGE AND METER CONSISTANTLY in the corner and with midscreen combos ending in 236d it's not hard to get there. not only is this nigga top... but he could possibly be the best char in the game.
Jourdal Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 So...in CT it was non human zoners...in CS it was asians....and Ragna/Tao/Hazama (depends on who you talk to) and now the NOL rules
Justice7541 Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 Does Hazama actually have any options for hitting anyone once he puts them in corner? He's got two overheads that do nothing without meter and a command throw that, while decent, isn't going to be some god tier Tao-level mixup bullshit.
TD Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 he stops rollouts (2a/option select jayakou), gets 50 meter with any combo in the corner, he's ridiculously safe and can keep you in the corner for quite a while... and you're bound to fuck up. there's just no escaping against this guy. oh, and he does damage now.
Circuitous Posted January 12, 2011 Author Posted January 12, 2011 Jesus, even I think Hazama's S tier. At least for now. Everyone else is gonna need to find some good shit to keep up.
huey253 Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 lol i just realized bang is the only japanese character in the game. dem japanese guts yo. (high hp)
smooshman Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 now if hazama is S tier.... then how, wasn't he mostly nerfed?
Jourdal Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 now if hazama is S tier.... then how, wasn't he mostly nerfed? It was more like..... "i can't do 3C>into 80 variations of the same combo D:, i have to use......6.........C...wtf? this character is ass now"
A.X.I.S. Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 Hazama was toned down a bit meter and damage wise midscreen (lol situational high damage stuff.) but his chains and pressure is still pretty safe.
advancedNoob Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 huey253, yeah I haven't seen at the time when I made my post. His DD IS too good, but outside of that he is a well balanced character. 2A that stops rolls can be used with pretty much any character, so I don't see how that gives him an advantage, option-select DD is null if you delay your roll. But hey, look at Tao who has godlike speed, mobility and mixup and easily gets 3.5K+ mid screen. Look at Jin, who got buffed from CS1 while being a solid A tier character. Noel and Makoto with easy 5K damage, add 50 heat and you get 6K+. Carl with his doll can reset the crap out of your life bar and there's only so much you can do to get out.
huey253 Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 look at bang with his...... ... ... FRKZ i love how hazama gets 4k meterless off of his stance low midscreen now lol
Airk Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 (edited) Airk, you obviously don't play hazama if you think like that. You're right. I don't. I'm just watching the results of people who DO. And that's a heck of a lot more accurate than me sucking with him for a while and then drawing conclusions. Apparently I'm not the only one who's getting this creepy feeling. Define play. Mash 2A until it hits? Makoto is a pretty traditional rushdown character. She has a bunch of up close mixup with high/low, asteroid vision 'crossups', a fast jab, and parry stuff, and she gets big damage off it when she gets a hit in, but Hazama doesn't have to play that. He can zone her out with chains and giggle madly as he goes flying across to the far side of the screen as soon as she gets anywhere close. And his damage seems roughly on par with the Noel/Makoto damage everyone is so impressed with. And not only is he good, but he's annoying as heck. It aggravates me just to watch people try to fight him. :P Makoto is strong, but she's not running away with the game by any stretch. It's kinda got me wondering though. Do people think Arc is delaying the CS2 console patch (to "spring(?)" or whenever, since they haven't officially said when it's coming) to see how all this CS2 stuff plays out in Arcades and then make another round of changes? After all, they can "patch" the arcade version now, and if they're going to do that, it would make sense to do it before/at the same time as the console patch. Edited January 13, 2011 by Airk
Lord Knight Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 (edited) He was S in cs1. he got better. most others got worse. hazame GETS GOOD DAMAGE AND METER CONSISTANTLY in the corner and with midscreen combos ending in 236d it's not hard to get there. not only is this nigga top... but he could possibly be the best char in the game. Not S in CS1 or 2 (CS2, might depend who you talk to, who knows how much the game can change). He's definitely in the upper group of characters, but there are characters who are clearly better, and get consistent damage midscreen as well as corner. Hazama's midscreen damage (without meter) and corner carry isn't good enough. That being said, his meter options and near corner/corner stuff are really good. Edited January 13, 2011 by Lord Knight
