Looks like I'm bringing my PS3 copy of the game too, glod does that mean you will as well? Aside from shtkn and Wallace, it looks like we'll need 4 setups, assuming we don't want anybody waiting their turn to play. Again I can't bring my PS3 though.
Ichipoo Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 Okay, so assuming we're gonna try to have 4 PS3 setups (with a monitor, console and game) and have Watermelonz have his stick dual modded, then we have a total of two full setups if we include yours and Wallace. shtkn can at least bring his PS3 and copy of the game, and as for me, I can only bring my copy as well. That means that we just need two monitors and one console from Frubble. However, if shtkn wants to go through the trouble of bringing his monitor with his desktop monitor's base, then we'll only need one monitor and a PS3 from Frubble. But of course, that's assuming Watermelonz wants to shell out $30 to have his stick dual modded and we're really trying to have all our setups be PS3 only.

I played jin in ct, but switched over to hazama i can still play jin, but i don't really know the advanced stuff anyways, thanks for the welcome guys, can't wait to meet everyone on friday
Wild Wallice Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 Ok, so everyone is clear about what to bring or not bring or whatever: - Ichi and Shtkn can bring their copies of the game. - Glod and I will bring our ps3 setups. We'll use them if we need to. - Watermelonz can bring his xbox if he really wants to, and if he does will be using one of the many monitors available (Frubble's, mine, or Glod's) based on what happens. This isn't rocket science. Watermelonz, if you are considering getting a new stick sometime soon, I implore you to get the dual modded eightarc stick, both for convenience and because I think its the best non-modded stick you can get right now.

Ichipoo Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 (edited) As usual, posting here to let everybody know I got home safe and sound around 10 minutes ago. It was cool meeting Buddy and having a feel for his and Watermelonz's Hazama, I now have a better idea how he works. And it was nice to see that the new tricks I learned from Lunakage has had some success. I'm also proud of glod getting used to the Noel matchup, just needs to learn how to 360 overheads and pseudo Drive blockstrings on reaction, as well as block low like 90% of the time. And shoutouts to the shtkn/haki vs Ichi matchup still being like 9-1. When I play against the others, I feel that we're even for the most part, but these two, man, playing against these two sometimes make me feel that my growth as a player has stopped lol. Maybe this is something that gets better with even more practice and experience... or I should just drop BB and play P4A and hope to be better than them in that game, j/k though. But anyway, I'm really glad that we had the largest local gathering tonight and I'm looking forward to more in the future. Edited March 10, 2012 by Ichipoo

We had a pretty good time at Taijima after, I think we should make that a regular spot to go to, but thats just me. We might want to go to that IHOP at least once, just so we have a backup place to go lol. I'm pretty happy that Buddy made it out, I need Hazama matchup experience and I was not disappointed. We might get more of Watermelonz's friends soon too. If everyone is ok with it, I can ask Bond and whoever he brings with him to show up again, just like that one time. I can also post about it in the FB group for the SoCal BB players and see if any of them can make it out. Keep making our scene grow guys!

glod Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Thanks for letting me netplay at your place Haki. I feel like I learned a little bit and beating Lambda's dashes is definitely much more clear now. I think when I return from my 3 week absence I will need to play a lot more against Watermelonz and Buddy's Hazamas since that's a character I kind of struggle against still. Also Ichi should learn Mu more because that's my worst matchup and it'd be good to get some experience against that too
glod Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Only if you really want, haha. I just want to have more character exposure so I can cover my weak matchups. I also need to pick a second character. Arakune is looking most appealing right now but I might check out Bang too. I just need to sit down and practice with either of them, though learning that Arakune curse combo from Watermelonz last meetup was a big step in the right direction.
