Everyone in this game is a legitimate treat, some even more than Riannon (like Tamaki) just wanted to point that being S tier doesnt mean that you are unbeatable, it only means that you have more favorable matchups in your favor than the rest of the cast (hw favorable that depends of the balance of the game of course), hell, there are S tiers that have really bad matchups against them, like O. Sagat for example or Gilgamesh against Assasin on FUC, there are also S tiers that are S only because their matchups are in the range of 6:4 for him like Cedric on BF Edited September 3, 2011 by Hecatom
SolxBaiken Posted September 3, 2011 Author Posted September 3, 2011 Heca don't try to insult me at my own game. In this game S tier meant unbeatable cause back when it first came out there was only ONE S tier character, Riannon, because people thought she was unbeatable, but S tier easily has 3 characters (Riannon, Touka, Tamaki). But honestly IMO tiers don't go any lower than B. Examu is good at keeping a rather condensed list on their fighters. Matchups are pretty good and can alter with the right assist.
Hecatom Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Heca don't try to insult me at my own game. lmao, if you think that im insulting you then to bad seriously since you are a mod you became very grumpy and abrasive :/
SolxBaiken Posted September 3, 2011 Author Posted September 3, 2011 Chill Heca, Modship has done nothing to affect my attitude towards things. And I was only being half serious, but to educate me on a subject leaves the implication you don't think I know what I'm talking about, and I'm fairly confident in everything I say regarding this game, and the fact the question "is she the only S tier" was asked and given the character's previous gripes (I assume you are aware of?) I would've thought you knew it was a nod that S = overpowered. Anyways that's enough of that, this thread is for me to post vids cause no one wants to discuss my awesome game ; w;
furix Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Ok guys, do not derail this thread and keep it to discussion about AP and posting AP videos. :P
Butters Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 I'd like to discuss the game. Now, I have talked with some friends in Japan about this game, and I was under the impression that the "top tiers" in the game are Riannon and Touka. Riannon absolutely dominates certain matchups and Touka is even or better against everyone. I am also told that basically "everyone has some BS except Manaka." As for Tamaki, last time I checked, she is "good, but loses to some stupid things." This makes sense since she is a grappler. So what has changed that now Tamaki is on par with Riannon and Touka? I have not been able to play the game like you probably have, so I would apreciate an explanation.
Hecatom Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 (edited) theory fighting, non of the people posting here has actually played the game maybe except for heart nana, but im not sure if he has posted here though i admit, tamaki looks strong (i would main her if this game is made avaible to this side of the ocean) but im not sure if she is considered S, outside of Riannon, i have to admit that im not sure how are the rest of the cast distribuited on the tiers Edited September 4, 2011 by Hecatom
furix Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 Dude, Tamaki is hella dumb. Of course she is up there. :|
Hecatom Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 (edited) Dude, Tamaki is hella dumb. Of course she is up there. :| outside of Riannon, i have to admit that im not sure how are the rest of the cast distribuited on the tiers like i said, I dont know how the rest of the cast is placed on the tiers pretty much why you dont see me talking about tiers for the game in the 1st place (specially if i have not played it), but is good to know that she is that good hopefully they wouldnt nerf her badly on the inevitable balance patch (is well known that no one likes good grapplers ) since at least for me, it seems that examu is planning to focus on aquapazza for a time Edited September 4, 2011 by Hecatom
SolxBaiken Posted September 4, 2011 Author Posted September 4, 2011 Tamaki is strong in this game cause she was one things most grapplers don't have, momentum. Once she gets started it's hard to stop her, and in the corner she can pretty much make anyone her plaything, not to mention she has the most cost effective super ever. Most characters Splash Arts deal around 10k damage, this costs them 3 bars. Tamaki only needs to spend 1 bar and her super grab has the potential to do 10800! Also depending on your assist makes her even scarier, like Ulthury who can lock you down well giving you, in most situations, 2 options; block Ulthury and get grabbed by Tamaki or vice-versa. Also although her Splash Art isn't a direct attack it allows for crazy oki and damage, if you know what you're doing you can easily do a near full life combo. Also everyone has nice tools, EVERYONE, and much like in Arcana the right Partner can alter things heavily. I once thought Manaka was trash, needing to rely on her book toss spams, come to find out that only holds her back! Manaka is surprisingly qualified to RUSHDOWN and has some good pressure with her normals and when needed her book toss is easily the best projectile in the ENTIRE game. I'm not saving every match up is 5:5 but I don't feel they are drastically unbalanced either. Riannon has better match ups than most because she has long reach and active frames. Touka actually isn't outstanding in anything, she's just good overall, but her counter is great and she can connect alot of things off the simplest of stuff. Tamaki like most grapplers is still susceptible to being out zoned. I may not have directly played the game, but I'm not "theory" fighting as I have seen play from all over Japan as I provide re-uploads of ever match vid no matter how small, also I have the mook so I have concrete data as well, I know my way around it. But anyways I just have 1 vid for now:
Ronove Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 On what coin-op system is this game running on? There might be a chance to have this in our local scene.
SolxBaiken Posted September 4, 2011 Author Posted September 4, 2011 On what coin-op system is this game running on? There might be a chance to have this in our local scene. Well it uses the Taito X2 boards along with Nessica, to my knowledge this makes using it outside of Japan impossible. However this site is supposed to be selling the board but they don't list a price and I'm still a little unclear if it still has Nessica or not (which to my knowledge from a Japanese based source, there are indeed regular X2 cabinets apparently) So if you were interested in getting one I'd contact the site and ask several questions beforehand = w=b
Ronove Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 I got the confirmation that it does indeed run using the NESICAxLive system so it's pretty much impossible to use it outside of Japan, unless they're going to do a non-NESICA version like ArcSys had done with the CS2 foreign one.
HeartNana Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 I don't think Tamaki is on the same level as riannon and touka... If anything, the 3rd best character is Konomi. There's a pretty big gap between those 3 and the rest of the cast. It doesn't really mean that they can't win, but its generally favoring touka/riannon/konomi. This is just from my experience playing (as a riannon player), so take it with a grain of salt. BTW I played an awesome arawn the other day that got a 9 winstreak against my riannon before i beat him. He was using the Satsuki assist and fireballs to stop my long range pressure to the best of his ability. When he got in, it was a really tough match. But the match is still in riannons favor, so hey, what do I know, lol.
Reioumu Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 (edited) and Hakuro can beat everyone :V Just not retarded thogh Edited September 6, 2011 by Reioumu
Greats Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 i think this game has turned out to have a surprisingly not HUGELY dispersed tier list, but it hardly seems to be as compressed as it could be IMO. I'd like to see at least 1 balance patch before this game gets ported anyway
MumMum Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 What I do know about tiers in this game [Or what I can see]. Riannon top/Morgan bottom. Everyone else seem very balance which I am very shock to see [also very happy].

Maho Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 The list is here if someone wants to translate the name of the players. About the characters played, i did an elive cast with a friend about this game a few days ago and of course we talked about SBO, we looked into the character count and it's like this for now : Take note that out of the 29 spots listed on the results page, two didn't listed any characters and three forgot the assist. Another thing is that we've got not that much duplicates in the character teams that qualified, there's two Touka/Yuma and three Riannon/Yuki, everyone else uses a different combination.

Butters Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 Congratulations to GO1 winning SBO with Riannon over Ogawa's Konomi. Top 4 was 1 Riannon, 3 Konomis. I don't think there is any doubt as to who the top 3 in this game are, heh.
