toanenadiz Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 Games should start letting people bind the same input to multiple buttons. I had to change from the default layout because it was impossible for me to hold down the A button while being able to still use B and C. And this game is so much fun despite not knowing what I should be doing. So much stuff to remember.
RagnellBlue Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 Just played some netplay games, so I can give some insight on that. It was a bit laggy during character select, which worried me, but in game it was as smooth as can be. It doesn't even have the start-up stutter that BlazBlue and P4A have, so there's no need to worry about letting any intros play or anything like that. So from my experience, the netplay is really solid and should please anyone whose going to be dedicating time to playing this online (or offline, since I can't imagine the scene for this being all that big, sadly). Edit: And yes, this game is crazy fun.

While capcom and snk game do allow this, they have the primitive way of assigning buttons. hope they allow heavy smash(B+C) macro since I already have prefer button layout on my pad.

Yeah, there's a macro for heavy smash set by default (R1 on a regular PS3 Controller).
toanenadiz Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 ITS HERE! PLAYASIA IS GDLK They are. I ordered this yesterday and got it this morning.
Hecatom Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 Reports about the netcode on McCafe and SRK say that the netcode is worse than KOFXIII netcode. Anyone can expand on that here or deny it altogueter.

Edit: And yes, this game is crazy fun. Out of curiousity...what the fuck is McCafe? Im not trolling. I even typed it into google with the world "Netcode" afterwards because if i didnt all they had was deals for Mcdonald's coffee. Nothing substantial came up. Also i went on the SRK mainpage and didnt see any articles about the game. My copy should be coming soon so i'd like to know what's up. Also if you saw it on the SRK forums i'd take that with a grain of salt. They might have been playing against japanese players with red connections. This is the same Forum that had 50+ pages of discussion about "Jill Valentines Costumes in MVC3" under the gameplay section.... They aren't the brightest bunch Edited September 1, 2012 by DogsofWar

Kurushii Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 I can agree it's worse than KoF13's netcode. I played against a friend who's in the same state as me that I have played pretty much every fighting game this gen against. It's pretty low tier when it comes to netcode. Shit can lag in character select it's so bad lol

Anyone can expand on that here or deny it altogueter. I played a couple people on the other side of the country and it wasn't bad, if a bit inconsistent. Some matches were pretty damn good, others lagged a bit. I wouldn't say it's anywhere near KoF XIII's netcode- that is barely playable with someone 5 miles from me. Then again, it's also not AH3-level awesome. I was able to nail all 4 of the just frames on Touka's rekka's in one of the matches if that means anyttihng... One of the guys I was playing with also said that he's had plenty of matches with Japanese players on ranked that felt okay. I can agree it's worse than KoF13's netcode. Shit can lag in character select it's so bad lol I'm curious if it's handling the synch at the character select screen rather than the intro like AH3's netcode did- people would always skip that and the first round would be almost unplayable. furix Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 Welp, now there's for sure no reason for me to get this if the netcode is that bad. It's the main thing I wanted to know before I waited to import it.
SolxBaiken Posted September 1, 2012 Author Posted September 1, 2012 (edited) It's here ; -; *walks into the Hyperbolic Time Chamber* Welp, now there's for sure no reason for me to get this if the netcode is that bad. furix Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 You dirty liar, LOL I have no idea what you are talking about.
SolxBaiken Posted September 1, 2012 Author Posted September 1, 2012 Ok just played several games with TZA, At first the matches were inconsistent, some ok, some terrible, then I remembered I had 2 streams running in the background (lol, sorry >.< ) and after closing it it was much more stable haha. It's only 1 person, but I don't think this netcode is ANYWHERE near KoF XIII lol Now back to the chamber~
TheTZA Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 at times it was decent. I found it hard to DP and super but its probably just me cuz you were getting yours off LOL. I just noticed now that Manaka has a dodge move, double jump and can throw books in the air. And Konomi has a dive kick. I really like those two as back ups!
TheTZA Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Basic beginner day 1 Arawn meterless combo. (with Camyu) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nB8Xx8ga-O0&feature=plcp
TheTZA Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Dat stripper Sasara n_n first time Ive seen that splash
FerrellJ Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Dat stripper Sasara n_n first time Ive seen that splash It's probably my favorite one in the game. They are all pretty good though. I've always been pretty disappointed with the supers in BB and P4A. At least the Astrals / IK's anyway- they drag out far too long and just aren't as impactful as it seems they should be. The Splash Arts in AP are really well done.
lolokoa Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 damn I won't be getting this till 2 weeks ;_;
SolxBaiken Posted September 2, 2012 Author Posted September 2, 2012 She's not a stripper, that's the Barbarian Class :< Also Boss Ma-Ryan is NOTHING like I thought she'd be when she was announced, overall she's kinda worst than regular Ma-Ryan, her Kick is better but has ALOT less range and she lost her ability to control space due to the loss of Fireworks. Trap Hole is ok but it's blockable while standing and can obviously be jumped over, also doesn't seem to be possible to combo with (still require further testing). Personally I prefer Serika's Shadow Bind over it because Shadow Bind stays on the ground for a period of time and leave the opponent in a standing state, Trap Hole does the opposite and is only active for a few frames and on hit puts them in a special low state, and upon exit the opponent is considered to be in a jumping state. Glad that she's viable for standard play, but she just seems like a weaker Partner overall :< (but at least she has that awesome cape!) Also WTF! Score Attack Boss Chizuru (or as I like to call her Super Chizuru Omega X') is alot more vicious than regular Boss Chizuru...
DogsofWar Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Since my copy STILL isnt here i cant ask anything but cosmetic questions about the game; But can you select Boss Ma-Ryan's level in VS (the "Everything's" burning" level) ? and also, is she unlocked from the get go, or do you have to finish storymode or something? Also from what i've got out of the japanese sites, Oboro seems to have different attacks while dashing, so can someone test if you can run in and preform a throw or will it just go the his Dash Special? Thanks in advance. Ugh...next time im gonna shell out some more cash and go with FedEx. This wait is killing me.
