SolxBaiken Posted September 4, 2012 Author Posted September 4, 2012 Good games to Ragnell, feels good to get some matches in! Once I perfect my execution B. Ma-Ryan will be so much scarier ; w;
Chumaralupa Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Anyone know of a good Youtube channel or other archive of recent Japanese match vids for this game? Pretty much everything on Youtube that I can find is almost a year old pre-patch and SBO 2012 wasn't nearly enough material. There are some mechanics in this game that really get me killed and I want to see how top players actually handle the neutral game/play offensive. Also is there any tier list for the game as of late? I can pretty much take a guess at what it looks like from what I saw at SBO, but I'm still curious. Lastly, is there any other informative source for the game besides DL and Mizuumi wiki? There's so much more I'd like to know that I can't find. I'm going to try and hop online on this game every so often and hope to find an American room :DD
TheTZA Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Found this, this morning, tried to super on wake up with Tamaki and it didnt work? Ill stand corrected if this is escapable. *crosses fingers* Arawn/Serika vs Tamaki reset 8,720 dmg total. Meterless: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=15d6iaLWDcI&feature=plcp
SolxBaiken Posted September 4, 2012 Author Posted September 4, 2012 Chu, I update my channel often there was a period I stopped uploading 2.0 vids because it was ALL Chizuru, ALL the time and I was sick of the Chizuru army lol, though honestly the jump from 1.5A > 2.0 wasn't nearly as big as vanilla > 1.5A, 2.0's biggest changes were the addition of Chizuru, Oboro, Llyr, and Serika. The top players Impact Guard and Resist Smash (something I need to work on) also if you have a good Partner like Yu doing Passive Assist can do wonders too. If there's somethign you want to know immediately you might as well ask as it may have not been written down/translated yet. Also just add and play me :D I'm on pretty much constantly (like even in a week when I get Tag 2, I'll basically be playing this and that, and add in DoA at the end of the month). TZA that combo is escapable if they Fast Stand the followup sweep will miss as they are invincible for a short period, also how did you get that counter hit? And lastly that combo isn't "meterless" as it uses an Active Assist which costs a bar, in this game meter is REALLY important as you need Partners to really extend combos (not to mention spending them on Supers, Resist Smashes, Passive Assist) that's why meter gain is pretty crazy and consistent between rounds. Most of your combos will cost at least 1 bar, but luckily you can get some great damage with just 1, it all then depends if you want to go for the gusto and spend more to do more. Also turn on input display if you aren't going to list the formula ; -;
TheTZA Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Damn. Is there an option to turn Fast Stand on for the CPU? apologies for my noobness! 2A, 5B, 5C, B+C, 214C, 214B (D), 623C
FerrellJ Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Damn. Is there an option to turn Fast Stand on for the CPU? There is- it's under the COM settings. Look for something that starts with ファスト. The whole like translates to "fast standing" or something. I think there are 3 options: on / off / random. "Random" is spelled out with katakana so you should be able to tell fairly easily which one that is.
SolxBaiken Posted September 4, 2012 Author Posted September 4, 2012 Oh yeah I figured it out, cause I'm a fast learner \o/ And the option to turn on Fast Standing is: COM Settings > 5th option (from the top, excluding CPU level obviously) > 3 characters is off, 2 is on, and 4 is random (and it cycles in that order) Also I'm still not sure how you got the CPU to do an action for you to interrupt in order to get that counter o.o but no need for apologies, we're all learning :3
FerrellJ Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Also I'm still not sure how you got the CPU to do an action for you to interrupt in order to get that counter o.o but no need for apologies, we're all learning :3 Counterhit to random, maybe? If so, that's probably something you'd want to have off unless training yourself to react to CH's. Maybe it would help to post up a translation / map of all the training options. I have them all written down at home and can post later when I get home if that would be helpful.
SolxBaiken Posted September 4, 2012 Author Posted September 4, 2012 (edited) Haha, that's probably it, which if they don't Fast Stand that CH really does make is a nice seal I don't know if you have a visual representation but here's a quick text based one (all adjustable options are listed as if shifting to the right from default. OutlawVinegar Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Anyone know of a good Youtube channel or other archive of recent Japanese match vids for this game? Pretty much everything on Youtube that I can find is almost a year old pre-patch and SBO 2012 wasn't nearly enough material. Two YT channels I skim that play AquaPazza videos (amongst other fighters) are ReXXXSoprano's alternate, and Mr. TSUTAYA's; ReXXX - http://www.youtube.com/user/DoaGHThaDOJO/videos (most recent AP was 19 hours ago) TSUTAYA - http://www.youtube.com/user/MrTSUTAYA/videos (most recent AP was two months ago [EDIT: Disregard that, I suck, etc. Most recent was 4 weeks ago.])
FerrellJ Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 I don't know if you have a visual representation but here's a quick text based one (all adjustable options are listed as if shifting to the right from default. Might even want to see about getting the OP updated so it doesn't get lost. The 4th option in COM settings is Guard Switching (or however you'd want to phrase that)- it allows / prevents the CPU to switch between high/low guarding. So if you have the CPU set to stand and you hit it with a low, if that option is turned on, it will guard low. If that option is off, the hit will connect.
SolxBaiken Posted September 4, 2012 Author Posted September 4, 2012 Ok fixed and added, I'll probably clean up the opening posts later...(year old fluff, whoo~)
TheTZA Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Thanks for the training options translation. U da bes! Can't wait to get home
FerrellJ Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 While we're on the topic of training mode- if anyone is wondering what the Reversal Backstep is for (since it took me a while to realize it), it's basically used to determine how safe/unsafe a move or string is. There was a similar option in KoF XIII that I initially thought was missing from AP (until I asked myself just what that option might have been put in for). At least, I think that's what they put it in for... Very, very useful if you didn't know about it. Once we get good frame data, it will be even more useful...
Chumaralupa Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 Thanks for the Youtube channel recommendations. I hate Tamaki, that wall rush super is literally punishing me off of my hits on block if I use anything but A.
antibolo Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 Hello all, long time Dustloop lurker, this is my first post. I've been following this thread, seriously thinking in getting Aquapazza. Nice to see there's a small NA community building up. Still worried about the quality of the netcode though, so far it does not look good. I have a question, for those in the know about importing PS3 games: if I buy the cheaper Asian version, if/when the game ever gets DLC, will I be able to get it from my Japanese PSN account, or will I have to create a Hong Kong PSN account? Because if so, I'm probably not going to bother with the 10$ or so in savings and just get the Japanese version. Thanks.
Kurushii Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 (edited) I have a question, for those in the know about importing PS3 games: if I buy the cheaper Asian version, if/when the game ever gets DLC, will I be able to get it from my Japanese PSN account, or will I have to create a Hong Kong PSN account? Because if so, I'm probably not going to bother with the 10$ or so in savings and just get the Japanese version. Thanks. It's a case by case basis. I know of games in the past where the dlc has worked between asia and jp regions. If a game came with a dlc promo code you would have to use a account region that matches the game region to use the code (example Gundam EXVS). Aquapazza doesn't have such so that isn't something to worry of there. Can't say for sure till they release some kind of dlc. I honestly don't see what they would release as dlc for this game. It's loaded with everything the arcade version had and more. All the colors are unlocked from the start. Edited September 6, 2012 by Kurushii
antibolo Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 There's always the possibility for future DLC characters I guess. Also this is a PS3-only game, so they will not be constrained by Microsoft's crippling DLC/patch policies (that are most likely the reason why BBCSE was made standalone). With that in mind they may have less limitations on pushing content updates than other fighting games.
SolxBaiken Posted September 6, 2012 Author Posted September 6, 2012 Nah, the chances of actual DLC characters are going to be VERY slim, everything that was announced for the console version came in ver 2.0 (4 new characters, New stages) also the color options that were "DLC" in the arcade version were already given to us, and this is a collaboration Dream Match game, so they would have to go back to the other company (Examu) in order to add any content since this isn't a series. Much like I think P4U isn't receiving any additional content, I doubt this will either, especially since everything is there, only thing I want them to patch is netplay so more people will play ; -; Also CSE was made standalone to have all the additional content on disc, and they added alot of content not directly related to the fighting (like the additional story routes).
DogsofWar Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 IT FINALLY CAME!!!! And to everyone still waiting.... IM BETTER THAN YOU AT EVERYTHING! XD training mode/local play...then time to try out that online jazz.
SolxBaiken Posted September 6, 2012 Author Posted September 6, 2012 Don't bother with online unless you make plans before hand or else all you'll get is alot of 1bar Japanese connections, but on that note feel free to hit me up any time, I'm always looking for people to have fun with who don't mind sub-optimal netplay.
Killey Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 I've ordered the game and just waiting for it to arrive. I've noticed the front page says the wiki is down and the other wikia I've found doesn't have really detailed information. Is there any other place that I can go to for character specific information and strategies?
CRITICALSHOT Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 I would love to be a punching bag that hits back! Add me!!!! PSN: LOVELYSHOT
DogsofWar Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 (edited) I cant believe im picking my main based off of this but i gotta go with Konomi because she has a moved named "Let's build a good country, Genghis Khan!" and she occasionally goes "Doo Du-DooDoo" after certain moves. I can honestly say i've never picked a main for a stupider reason ^_^. Im liking Morgan a lot more than i thought i was....and actually, im not that big a fan of Oboro as i thought i'd be. Don't get me wrong. He's a great character but without the proper info, i have no clue what they're talking about in the command list for certain moves, which means he's useless in my hands atm. a GOOD country! Not a GREAT country, but a GOOD one! THAT's why its the best name for a super ever! Edited September 6, 2012 by DogsofWar
