Bibiquadium Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 Just posting because I have a new avatar, deal with it.
unsanctifier Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 my levels of hype are getting uncontrollable CAN'T WAIT FOR SATURDAYYYY
LiveWireX Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 So what do you guys think of skull girls? Meh, it seems alright, I guess. I'll most likely pass though. The last time I bought a fighter off PSN, it was Arcana Heart 3 for $30, and...I kinda regretted that shortly after.
Sophisticat Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 I'm dropping BB/GG, and maining SG. SG > GG > BB >>> AH3 >>>>> Anything else > [>>>xN] > Recent Capcom. DealWithIt.png
Sophisticat Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 :< For serious, though, the amount of effort put in SG is, frankly, amazing. In-game graphics are gorgeous, animation is stellar, and it moves quite well. Plus it's made by a guy who understands what players want. It's sort of a Melty/MvC hybrid fyi. I'm just concerned about its staying power. Imo, it deserves recognition and a solid scene, but the devs made choices that limit its appeal. I'll at least definitely be playing it alongside BB/GG.
magus704 Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 I'm definitely entering SG even though I haven't played it yet. Someone teach me how to play when I get MTL.
Brice Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 So what do you guys think of skull girls? if you're a serious player, playin a bit in training mode will show you that this game is, gameplay wise, perfect (for now :P) the only complaint one could have, and it's not my opinion since I love this, is the design choice and aesthetics choices. that's it. if you don't like that there's no boys and that you see too much panties I can understand it but anyone tryin to shit on the game for the mechanics doesn't know what he's talking about

What design choices? My friend said people were raging across the internet because it had no move list in the game and that while it was going to please the hardcore crowd it would have a hard time with casuals, which he thought would be trouble since the game was supposed to appeal to casuals or something. But I haven't checked any game news for ages so I haven't heard anything except that it just came out now. As for me, it looks like a great game, but none of the characters really capture my interest. Maybe Parasol. Edited April 12, 2012 by mAc Chaos
Dai_Loli Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 I'm surprised at all the negative reactions to this game, I personally was more hyped for this than the Persona 4 fighting game. Character designs seem to hurt it the most, at least from the opinions I've gathered from some friends. Which surprises me because I felt it was one of its strong points. Why they didn't include a move list in the game also boggles the mind, but the mechanics do seem very tight after messing with the demo.
unsanctifier Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 ugh i can't wait for htis long ass work week to end I NEED MY MTL
kaeru Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 RARRR !! Unsanc, this goin' be glorious ! We're all just as excited to have you guys over !!
Sophisticat Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 I have a 75% chance of appearing at Foonzo tonight for some FITE. You may or may not expect me to drop in at some point. if you're a serious player, playin a bit in training mode will show you that this game is, gameplay wise, perfect (for now :P) the only complaint one could have, and it's not my opinion since I love this, is the design choice and aesthetics choices. that's it. if you don't like that there's no boys and that you see too much panties I can understand it but anyone tryin to shit on the game for the mechanics doesn't know what he's talking about Brice understands, gentlemen. He's a silly guy 99% of the time, just like Vash the Stampede. But deep down, he's really an inordinately skilled prodigy possessed of superior intellect. You don't mess with the Brice. Yeah, no move list was a grave omission, no matter that other things had priority. There's just some stuff you can't leave out or else it's going to affect the end product, and this was one of them. The hardcore crowd will be forgiving, but casuals...? Anyway, the design doesn't appeal to 'mericans. They prefer buff guys and flashy stuff like MvC and shun the pink-filled halls of an Arcana Heart. There's also the fact the game has the Melty feel. It has the look (and gameplay) of a more niche fighter right off the bat. But as for gameplay and mechanics... flawless. A master at his best. The only criticism that may be leveled here is whether the end result is too manufactured, and did not include enough "wild factor" to be fun. Imo, Skullgirls deserves to trounce anything Capcom has released since SFIV. But it won't because of budget limitations and design that doesn't have mainstream appeal. :< The one true chance SG has of achieving glory is if it gets recognized by top players. If they say "this is some good shit...", then SG has a fighting chance.
BladeOfJustice7 Posted April 12, 2012 Author Posted April 12, 2012 If there's a meet today, I'll be there. It'll probably be the last meet I'll come to in April outside of MAD though.
kirbster Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 (edited) Aw yeah, looking forward to playing you two. Need dat Hakumanz practice! Especially with Yucorp coming o.o Edited April 12, 2012 by kirbster
Sophisticat Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 My Hakumanz has gotten better since last we met, too. Been getting in some decent practice. I still drop combos like a noob, but I'll at least get in one win. And oh shit! Secret Boss coming over! Better practice indeed...
Bibiquadium Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 Cant deny that Yucorp is something, and adapts etremely quick to his matchups
