khmxspider Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 Meetup at MVA this friday Address:Â 2069 rue Parthenais H2K 3T1 (Station Frontenac) 6pm until midnight Venue fee : 6$ Bring your own consoles. monitors provided.
Daisy-Fan Posted May 13, 2016 Posted May 13, 2016 If anyone interested and go to toryuken this year. http://www.cineplex.com/Movie/overwatch-launch-celebration-presented-by-cocacola So far there no representation in montreal, only Ottawa.
pochp Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 READ THIS FIRST : Saturday next week (May 28th) I'd like to run a "Monthly" tournament at MVA for airdashers, with double elim brackets for at least BBCPEX, GGXrd (ver tbd), Koihime Enbu, and DFCI. This week we'll do a meetup there friday (May 20th) where we'll test things out in preparation for that, with a few single elimination tournaments.Weekly Tournament #1 @ MVA 2069 Parthenais, Montreal, QCÂ https://www.facebook.com/MixedVirtualArts/(near Frontenac Metro, green line) Venue : 6$ All tournaments will be free to enter. Schedule : 6pm Venue opens 7pm BBCPEX (random 2v2 teams, single elimination, waseda style) 8pm GGXrd (singles, single elimination, bo1) 9pm Koihime Enbu (random 2v2 teams, single elimination, waseda style) ?pm Jackie Chan Fists of Fire (highest placing first-timer gets a poutine courtesy of pablo) This venue has monitors, so we'll need a few people to bring consoles. Besides that, please bring your own controllers/sticks. The tournaments should only require one station where we'll test the stream, so there should be a ton of stations for casuals. The venue also offers a monthly membership for 30$, and soft drinks for a certain contribution.
Daisy-Fan Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 i'm still thinking to get that membership thing, they probably doing to do some Overwatch night at some point. seems very nice and the place has a very great ambiance so far, the staff are very friendly too. I will be there for Friday night count me.
pochp Posted May 24, 2016 Posted May 24, 2016 READ THIS FIRST : The monthly I'd thought of running Saturday is instead moved to next week's Saturday (June 4th), as this week there will be a Street Fighter monthly AND some people going to Anime North in Toronto. So yeah, next week. This week instead we'll do a Friday tournament similar to last week's, except it'll be planned teams for the 2v2 (you can still sign up alone and get paired up with other solo players). Weekly Tournament #2 @ MVA 2069 Parthenais, Montreal, QCÂ https://www.facebook.com/MixedVirtualArts/Â (near Frontenac Metro, green line) Venue : 6$ All tournaments will be free to enter. Schedule : 6pm Venue opens 7pm BBCPEX (2v2 teams, single elimination, waseda style) 8pm GGXrd Revelator (singles, single elimination, bo1) 9pm Koihime Enbu (2v2 teams, single elimination, waseda style) This venue has monitors, so we'll need a few people to bring consoles. Besides that, please bring your own controllers/sticks. The tournaments should only require one station where we'll test the stream, so there should be a ton of stations for casuals. The venue also offers a monthly membership for 30$, and soft drinks for a certain contribution.
khmxspider Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 ever thought of testing the stream set-up over there? As a preparation before the monthly.Â
pochp Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 Yes, I'll bring my streaming setup and test that out this Friday. We're also going to host a meetup at our place on Saturday this week, something like 2pm onwards. With the release of Revelator this week I'm guessing people will want to try the new characters and things, haven't had a FG meetup at our place in while too.
khmxspider Posted May 29, 2016 Posted May 29, 2016 For those who wants GGXRD Revelator on PS3 : - There's no Gameplay issue, similar to ps4 version. except Johnny's intro that makes the game drop frames BUT that doesn't affect gameplay. - Loading Time is longer than ps4 which is normal (and it actually shows a loading bar when you netplay people lol) - Graphic looks less prettier, but its unnoticable unless you look at it carefully. - apparently replay mode is glitchy soo if you think of buying it. Go ahead. Cuz I am. source : Magaki and Anski from raven discord
pochp Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 Monthly Tournament #1 @ MVA Saturday June 4th 2069 Parthenais, Montreal, QC https://www.facebook.com/MixedVirtualArts/ (near Frontenac Metro, green line) Venue : 10$ (Saturday price) All tournaments will be free to enter, and double elimination singles format. Schedule : 2:00pm Venue opens 3:00pm DFCI 4:00pm BBCPEX 5:30pm GGXrd Revelator 7:00pm Koihime Enbu Prizes : Since the tournaments are free to enter, I'll be providing a 1$ pot bonus to each tournament for each entrant that tournament gets. Winner takes all. Extra Prizes : The winner of the Blazblue tournament will be allowed to rename our Granblue Guild. I reserve the right to veto the name. There might also be extra prizes for the other games, but they are TBD. Stream should be twitch.tv/p0chp , the venue has a nice set up with a projector too, so hopefully after testing it last week everything will work. This venue has monitors, so we'll need people to bring consoles. Besides that, please bring your own controllers/sticks. If there are not enough consoles for a certain game, it may be switched to single elimination (aka bring revelator setups please). The venue also offers a monthly membership for 30$, and soft drinks for 1$. If you're interested in coming from out of town, let us know, maybe someone can offer a place to stay. Also note that from now on, weekly price goes up to 7$.

pochp Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 Weekly Tournament #3 @ MVA 2069 Parthenais, Montreal, QCÂ https://www.facebook.com/MixedVirtualArts/(near Frontenac Metro, green line) When : Friday, June 10th Venue : 7$ All tournaments will be free to enter.
