Dunno what fundamentals y'all talking about, but mvc3 takes all of those and magnifies their importance x10 since when you fuck up, you're losing a character and possibly your whole team

You can't block like Spark? get blown up.

Slow reaction time? Get blown up.

Bad footsies and spacing? Get blown up.

Can't tech throws? You're fucked.

Used to mashing DP to get out of pressure? Haha poor you, L2deal with pressure

In addition you HAVE to learn Marvel fundamentals as well.

XF is a silly comeback mechanic, but it's kinda needed to counteract the slippery slope of losing your assists, considering how it's almost impossible to make a 3v1 comeback w/o it.

Some people say well, you shouldn't have let it come to that, but that's silly talk. When one hit leads to death, and the character coming in has to face and successfully block 2-3 50/50 mixups which lead to death in a row before he can do anything, it's pretty easy for XF comebacks to not even be part of the equation of a match.

I used to hate it(still do) but I realized it was necessary to make the game slightly less unforgiving for the less hardcore players. If MvC3 had no XF, it would be the most ruthless game out there(AND I WOULD LOVE IT).

And Noah won because he outsmarted all those he beat. Real talk.

Blade with that real talk i've never seen him spout, good shit yo.

MvC3 has too much BS for me to like it. Too easy to get randomed out is probably my biggest gripe.

I guess it's why I prefer BB/GG; they play more like chess.

A game at which, real talk, I'll MM anyone in the community. GET HYPE FOR BLITZ ACTION!

What a nice and sunny day.

Wait, nvm it's cloudy as hell and looks like a tornado is about to hit.

Not many realize Pawns are broken, yo. Shit's like Phoenix: get them to the other side and your Queen's resurrected!

FG bashing of any kind irritates me. Bashing on BB and calling it a scrub game and shitty WILL NOT get more people to play more GG. It's really just stupid, but props to everyone's intelligent contributions to the discussions and bibi's tl;dr translation for me. I agree with nini, except on the ruthless aspect, except I don't find you can react to grabs in Marvel as in GG, you ahve to anticipate them. BB is a combination of both for the most part. Mvc3 has improved my input skills significantly on stick, specifically Thor. Iron Man somewhat, if anything he gave me tenacity, never have taken so long to properly learn a character. If anything play more of them improves your skills. If you got bad spacing in mvc3 get prepared for a "happy birthday" lol.

And if you suck at a fighter, practice in it. You don't get to any level without practice what do you think me/steb/nini were doing in the game. Though K.B had the weirdest way of learning the game to be honest with you.

And generally every FG coming out on the 7th generations are more forgiving than the last generation, to some level or another, whether it be a smaller learning curve, "ez-mode" DP executions, or random "anime powerup" times that cold completely wreck a team. It brings more people more people into the community, that's what I feel is most important. I rather a relatively easier FG that I could play 20 people in it, than a ruthless one where I only play 3 people in it (me, myself, and I). Regardless of the higher leniency, the better trained better skilled players tend to win because they put the work into it.

Incoming Bibiquadium's tl;dr translation. Shoutouts to dacid.

My superior fundamentals allowed me to learn the game exclusively through training mode and streams and making CMVs and body pros on my first day of real playing, GIT AT ME.

This may sound strange, but as much as what you said makes perfect sense, blade, I disagree with you. I used to play wow, I could play with as much people as I wanted to, I played with friends, made new friends, invited everyone over at my place for lan parties regularly. It was fun for a long time, but the game was just too braindead and "required" too much time investment to stay "competitive", just for the wrong reasons. (lol addiction)

As long as I'm not alone playing my super awesome game, I don't see why I would play some other game that I don't enjoy.

Disclaimer : I am not comparing wow to mvc3. I still almost play MvC3 and enjoy it (gotta keep that yo I don't even play this game OS alive). The more I play, the more I learn to deal with the BS (and salt) it generates and use my own charaters' BS better.

but yoooo you just can't block some of dante or wolverine's mixup on reaction, so it forces you to read your opponent a bit more than just using reflexes, which is a useful skill to level up for other FGs, I guess?

That is STILL weird I don't care what you say K.B.

Make it easier to some level, not to the point of being brain dead, but doesn't require 395404785403870548 hours to not suck ass. GG/mvc2 were steep, they were hard to get into unless you were at the beginning, or you're VERY passionate about the game (and not sucking ass in it). I personally am not a fan of sf4 for being what I find, too easy. I should not be able to win against people who play the game. But doesn't mean niggas who play viper earn none of my respect.

I think BB got it right personally, at least as of CS2. CT was just dumb, 9-1/8-2 matchups should not exist in a fighter. MVC3 has way too many ezmode characters

wesker...

, other than that it's not too bad and is fairly forgiving. And KOF I would have no idea about and we have no mexicans in the community to vouch for it.

well blade, you got it right.

asm 667 was amazingly stupid.

you'd think spidey would try to do something to prove he's the real spider-man instead of walking up to the avengers and getting punched in the 3 times in a row.

I am going to be so free this weekend it's not funny. *Sobs*

Anyway, it'll be nice seeing you guys again. Who's going to Otakuthon? We need to show the plebeians who's boss. :D

Posted

I'll be there Saturday but... I want to visit the dealer's room first, and I'll be there at 11, so scratch the tournament, and for once, I want to see what the freaking Masquerade is about... and I guess that falls right into the BB free play time. Excellent.

Guess I'll see if there's a BB setup at all times and check back once in a while.

Well I can tell you me and brice are gonna jump on Hen Da Ne as soon as we get there on friday, so if that's what you're looking for, come to the BB tournament instead there will be nothing left.

You guys should check out the CS2+ changes. I'm pretty hype.
