Bibiquadium Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 We didn't even meet once despite being at EVO all this time, next EVO I'll try to be more proactive and go out and chill, probably stay longer too to enjoy my trip further.
Sophisticat Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 Guys, I've got good news. I'm building up a scene in TR. Baby's learning stick. For those unaware, Hi, I've become stepdad in the last months, how do you do? Congrats! (Stepdad or uncle? Just checking, both have different meanings.)
DerQ Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 Still not sure I'll come to Jason's birthday, since level 5 is coming with me to New York, I'll be driving it saturday morning. I kind of really want to take it easy and just relax :S
Sophisticat Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 Stepdad. My gf has a child. Good luck, mon ami! That's a lot of responsibility. Make him grow up into the Canadian equivalent of Daigo. I know you can do it.
pochp Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 (edited) I also found the motivation to start running Monthly Mashfests again. We'll discuss it before I finalize the details, but I want to create a regular monthly event that everyone can grind for, and specifically plan on attending. For the first one, I'm thinking about playing it safe, going with a 1$ entry BB singles double elimination tournament, followed by a free entry teams guilty gear tournament with a prize. Tentative date is August 4th and it would start at 5PM. May add more games or change formats to the following ones, but I have no idea what the attendance would be. It's usually small on a Sunday, but I know that there's a lot of people in the scene that only come once every few weeks so it could also be really big. "official announcement" soon, when I finalize the details. @Leo : cool I'll check it out next time, it'll give me another reason to explore that side of the strip. I'll try to convince them, I got some stories that I'll tell in person, but really it's hard to describe everything in Vegas correctly. You really can't believe everything until you see it for yourself. @DerQ : oh right you're not taking the bus anymore, ok we'll see. Alternatively we could just go early and JP could meet up with you there. Anyways, up to you, it's a long drive and you don't want to take any wrong turns. Edited July 17, 2013 by pochp
Daisy-Fan Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 Good games for everyone went to DP room, it was pretty fun to play and watch. : P

Level5-Chan Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 @Pedro/DerQ: 1- I get the feeling I just ruined something important. 2- Vous deux serez la a foonzo demain: j'ai 220$ a vous donner.
oDHAOSo Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 Yo Pedro, you can add this to your list of why pets suck. Everytime I go in training mode, this happens:
BladeOfJustice7 Posted July 18, 2013 Author Posted July 18, 2013 So Blade...can you make it next tuesday for Gundam? Hopefully yes, I might see pacific rim though, I'll keep you updated. I'm in the support of this, and sundays would be the best days, especially with it starting at 5, still gives everyone enough time to rest up for the upcoming week. Since everyone here is slowly becoming Salarymen.
DerQ Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 (edited) Salarymen. No. VF5FS, play it sometime at foonzo Edited July 18, 2013 by DerQ
BladeOfJustice7 Posted July 18, 2013 Author Posted July 18, 2013 No. Yes. VF5FS, play it sometime at foonzo Force me to play it whenever you see me and if I like it I'll play it. I rarely go out of my way for lesser known games, due to time constraints.
DerQ Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 me and air have some scheduled beef in that game tomorrow, his vanessa sucks. (so does my Goh, shhhh) It's fairly easy to get started, only 3 buttons. Plus it's not like we grind the game, we just play it now and then for the kicks.
BladeOfJustice7 Posted July 18, 2013 Author Posted July 18, 2013 What makes it so hype? I need my games flashy and anime, of which VF seems to be neither, from what I remember when the last time I played it. The last VF I played was on the Sega Saturn. I think my main was Leon.
DerQ Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 The pacing feels pretty fast since you and your opponent doesn't keep his offensive turn for long. For the most part, everything is minus when blocked, but not enough to the point where you get punished or absolutely lose your capacity to keep going offensively. And there's so many different ways to go through your opponent's offense and a lot of them feel like a callout (da bes). For instance, my character has a counter for standing punchs, a counter for mid kicks that gives me a combo, if I call out your grabs I can punish them with my own grab or a combo, I have the capacity to side dodge and use every other tool available that's not specific for my character. Best part is that these options don't feel like they cover more than 1 option as well, hence why you can feel like you call out stuff very often and get momentum Plus, it's easy to get started. Initial learning curve isn't that bad, especially execution wise.
DerQ Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 I need my games flashy and anime *cough tekken cough* You win... for today.
AirMaster Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 It isn't easy to get started in Tekken though lol.

BladeOfJustice7 Posted July 19, 2013 Author Posted July 19, 2013 ^Wow Capcom doing something right for once, I feel that they'll fuck it up somehow by adding like xfc or pandora powerups. But here's hoping that they'll do this right for once.
