Jackie Chandler Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 (edited) Know what would be a good April fool's joke? If we all dropped everything and learned street fighter and showed up to someone's house with SFAE setups. The real joke would be if we showed up to do so at the Street Fighter gang's house, and they're all playing Blazblue. Edited November 8, 2012 by Jackie Chandler
Milln Posted November 8, 2012 Author Posted November 8, 2012 The real joke would be if we showed up to do so at the Street Fighter gang's house, and they're all playing Blazblue. The amount of awkward would be equivalent to us wearing the same outfit and deciding who's going to change.
Klein Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 The amount of awkward would be equivalent to us wearing the same outfit and deciding who's going to change. I MAKE THIS JOKE ALL THE TIME IN LEAGUE OF LEGENDS AND NOBODY GETS IT. That's why you should play a MOBA Milln.

If they didn't take so effing long, I would. I can literally go to the store, buy groceries, come home, cook, and either be done or halfway done eating it before one game of league is over.

Milln Posted November 9, 2012 Author Posted November 9, 2012 Everyone with Steam, please vote for Acceleration of Suguri on Steam Greenlight so it can get released. Even if you weren't thrilled with it, make a Milln happy.

Mr.Minionman Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 @Chandler Because there are literally 2 fighters (that i'm aware of) available on steam @MOBAs To be fair, the standard league game takes less than 30 minutes, but if I wasn't addicted to them, that would be the exact reason why I wouldn't play them. It originated from a warcraft custom game, which by nature is designed to take too long. @SSF4 I totally wouldn't mind playing some SSF4, I've played it casually with friends/bro and it's fun, and a lot easier to mess around with than Arksys fighters. Though if you did start playing it, I absolutely could not resist to main Dan. I have a hard enough time resisting him as is :P Unrelated, school is eating up my time to practice/play fighting games I hate it. -_- And Jackie, take me to that kaos---place thing.

I reeaaaalllly wanna harp on you for using "to be fair", especially when you post incorrect information after it. Standard League games takes thirty minutes or -more- not counting Log-in time, but counting queue time and potential re-queues due to drops and/or dodges. The minimum amount of time it can take is twenty, the longest i've personally been in is eighty-ish minutes. Average time is around 40 both from personal play for two years and watching KO play from when I quit, forward. It originates from Starcraft's Aeon of Strife, not Warcraft's Defense of the Ancients. DotA is based of AoS. It became mainstream from there. Afterthought: I like Moba's, just not league. Started many many years ago in Survival Project NA, and I liked Lost Saga, but like most of those games it was always too laggy for me to really get into it. A non-laggy Lost Saga would be ballin'. Bane Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 @MOBAs To be fair, the standard league game takes less than 30 minutes... Not when someone plays AD Fiddlesticks and the Morgana is farming rather than helping her team win fights.

Well they can, but many of the games I've played ended right on the twenty mark, and rarely go over 50. They get faster once people start figuring out how to play the game. The longest game I've played was about 75 minutes long when I first started playing, but those games are rather rare. I was referring more to the fact that League's pacing is far faster then any of the other Moba's. I remember playing Sotis (what eventually led me to play League), and those games took forever. I had more then one game last longer than an hour, thirty minutes. Even besides that though, there are shorter game types available (not that you'd really want to play them), i.e. Twisted Treeline and Dominion. "It originates from Starcraft's Aeon of Strife, not Warcraft's Defense of the Ancients." Dota was the advent of the genre, but technically yeah AoS is the first. I would hardly even call the game a Moba though, it wasn't even competitive until later on. Survival Project and Lost Saga aren't really Moba's either... Eh, sorry if I seem overly defensive or whatever, it's way too late in the night for me to still be up typing. It was a bit off blatantly calling what I said incorrect though. :/ @Bane I didn't even get a chance to finish my Trinity Force Edited November 9, 2012 by Mr.Minionman
Kyle Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 Everyone should be playing Guilty Gear and Vampire Savior.
DoctaMario Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 Everyone should be playing Guilty Gear and Vampire Savior. Indeed, but you guys are making me want to dig out my copy of Warcraft 3 and play some DoTA. Probably the game I loved the most that I was the worst at. xD
Boom Cube Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 Everyone should be playing Guilty Gear and Vampire Savior. HOS is my spirit animal
Alphakami Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 I won't be making it to Kaos tonight, sorry guys. Lee, congrats on Job Middy, happy late b-day. Everyone else, <3
DoctaMario Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 How late are y'all gonna be at Kaos tonight? I have a gig tonight, but if I get done in time, maybe I'll stop down.
Volpe-de-Glacio Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 Everyone should be playing Guilty Gear and Vampire Savior. You seem to be missing Melty Blood there, hombre.
Jackie Chandler Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 Guys. WTF. Guys. Guys. What. The. Fuck. Ragna CP Changes Changes described are only differences from EX 6A is not jump cancellable on block 6B able to cancel into 6A, 5D, 6D, and 2D 6C and 5D dash cancel removed Ground 214D causes FC Dead Spike dash cancellable. Recovery is longer, regardless if on block or on whiff. 22C is dash and special cancellable Corner combo 5B > 3C > 22C dc > 5B > 5D > 236D > 5C > 6A > jc j.D > jc j.D > j.214C > 5D > 623D >> 214D This does about 4060 damage
Urichinan Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 I've always hated watching and playing Ragna. I always found him to be extremely bland and his combos were too straightforward. But in CP the really odd properties on his moves and the funky movement he now has actually intrigues me. I'm very excited to see how he develops this time. In other news, THERE IS NO NEWS! Seriously, why doesn't anyone play Litchi at these location tests? >_< I really like the new Tsuabki changes, but I'm not a fan of all the Platinum nerfs. She got an air version of her Cure Dot Typhoon super though. (The spinny one) And I'm hoping that it looks retarded. :3

It feels like Arc is taking everything that's been fundamental about him, and flip-flopping the concepts to places and moves that just feel... weird. Like, why take out 6C/5D Dash Cancel, and give it to Dead Spike and 22C of all things? I dunno. I've yet to see the changes in action, but I'm expecting Ragna's combos to look ridiculous as fuck now. If I had to guess, I'd say there aren't many Litchis at the loketests because her changes are so minute, it's a lot more difficult to notice them and how they effect her playstyle as opposed to characters like Ragna. Simply put, it's easier to glean information about simpler characters' changes than more difficult characters'. And on an unrelated note, I've deemed Platinum's new Air Distortion "The Platinachopper."
Grimstar Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 But doesn't playing an extremely bland character with straightforward combos in a way that isn't extremely bland/straightforward sound fun? :3 Jackie, MASH DP MASH DP MASH DP MASH DP doesn't count as unique.
AlexSanteria Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 Anyone down for some Persona 4 or Super Street Fighter AE? I'm wanting to practice both for some upcoming tournaments.
