Seiki Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 Also, @UFGT, according to my parents: "Chicago? You want to go to Chicago? Chicago is the murder and crime capital of the United States! Don't register, you're not going." Jesus, and they wonder why I don't tell them these things in advance more often. In fairness, they said something similar about Final Round though, so I'll see what I can do. Tell them straight up like this: The venue is at an airport, hotel is right next to it. Restaurants you will be eating at is right next to the airport. Chicago is a main airport for a lot of flights throughout and out of the U.S. and the city knows it needs to keep that area safe for travelers. What are the chances of a criminal committing a crime in an area with probably the highest concentration of law enforcement in the city. Yeah Chicago is dangerous...if you are in the fucking projects or wandering aimlessly in the middle of the night. You aren't doing either. You are in a room with a bunch of nerds and weaboos playing videogames. What gold chains and fat stacks of cheddar are they going to rob from people like that? And to even get to you sorry bunch of broke ass niggas they have to risk airport police. You were in the same exact situation in Atlanta. The venue was in an airport hotel and you miraculously got home with no bullet holes.

I'll keep you guys updated.
Anne Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 To be fair he was sexually assaulted by Spiderman in Atlanta. Who knows what the hell would happen in Chicago?
Jackie Chandler Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 To be fair he was sexually assaulted by Spiderman in Atlanta. Who knows what the hell would happen in Chicago? HAY I THOUGHT WE AGREED TO NEVER SPEAK OF THAT AGAIN

Astaroth136 Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 I got paid for 2 hours of watching new CP Tager matches. I love my job.
Jackie Chandler Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 I got paid for 2 hours of watching new CP Tager matches. I love my job. I would like this job as well, except in Ragna form.
Anne Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 YO WHO IS GETTING INJUSTICE?!?!?!? Unless Aquaman is SSS tier I'm not touching it with a 40 ft pole. I wanted to like MK but it felt like I was playing a turd.
Skeletal Minion Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 You guys going to ACT 5 this Saturday in South Carolina? I will be there for Gear.
Alphakami Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 I get paid to go to Florida for college cheer nationals. 5 days of 'work'. Female to male ratio is about 60:1, with 1/5 of the men being gay. I still think Astaroth has a better job.... I won't make UFGT, or any other events out of area for a while, but I should be able to attend the event on the 20th at Kaos. Final Round shouts are you are all awesome and I'm never around to enjoy the awesomeness. I totally shoulda followed my gut instinct and done forward roll in to Chandler mount. I didn't know my timing was frame perfect. How often do you get randomly re-raped?

Considering how often I mash DP during people's rapestrings, not often. But I'm kind of expecting to get randomly raped by at Batman or something at UFGT now. :8/: Edited April 9, 2013 by Jackie Chandler

Jackie Chandler Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 DON't GO SPOILING MY SURPRISES JACKIE. Just you watch, Mellis. With my luck, UFGT will end up having to share a venue with a comic book convention the same day or something. I'm gonna step in the front door, the lobby's going to be filled with Spider-Mans, and I'm going to shit myself.
LastStarSaviour Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Wow, shout-outs to my job not being complete ass and me finally getting my first Friday off in like 3 months. I'll be at Khaos Theory playing Melty Blood (hopefully). Provided Milln doesn't mind me crashing at his place until Saturday morning. I'm also up for casuals in P4, AH3, Chaos Code, and Vampire Savior. @Jackie: I'd pay good money to see all of these things happen.
Jackie Chandler Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 @Jackie: I'd pay good money to see all of these things happen. O-Oh my. Star, I didn't know you were into that kind of thing.
Papstr Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 I think to myself, gee, I haven't checked the thread in a while. And then I see this. Maybe I shouldn't have checked it.
LastStarSaviour Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 O-Oh my. Star, I didn't know you were into that kind of thing. Jackie getting molested by Marvel characters....strangely, i'm okay with this.
Boom Cube Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Unless Aquaman is SSS tier I'm not touching it with a 40 ft pole. I wanted to like MK but it felt like I was playing a turd. Injustice actually feels like...70% SF4 and 30% MK. Blocking is SF-style so you don't have to arbitrarily hotwire your brain to work with a block button, characters don't move like they're prairie dogging cinder blocks, frame data is static, and stages feel a lot less claustrophobic. The biggest similarities it has with MK are the way attack sequences and special moves work, which is pretty dynamic and kinda cool in my book. The clash system sounds a bit wacky, but I completely forgot to test it out in the demo. It's really pretty fun, and I've been using my MK9 disc to slice cheese since week 2.

Urichinan Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Injustice really is quite different compared to MK. The dashes are not cancelable, and cover a huge amount of distance, whereas MK has very short dashes that can be canceled mid-way through. Injustice has back to block, instead of a block button. Each character has unique air attacks, as opposed to MK's universal air normals. Meter is used differently in this game, where you can only EX an attack after it's been preformed, rather than before, you can only use it as a breaker once per match (Wager system), and it can be spent to add armor on b3/f3 normals, which can also be dash canceled like Focus Attacks in SF. They also have the character specific, BB-style, trait system. IIRC you can block while in the air too, but I'm not completely sure. Honestly, the combo and chain systems are the only thing that really feel like MK to me. Though it is similar enough to deter players who dislike MK. I encourage everyone to try it out, but if you don't like MK, there's a fair chance you won't like Injustice all that much either. The thing I enjoy the most about this game is wallbounces though, I love wallbounces. As for the characters I want to use, Raven, Hawkgirl, Green Arrow, and Killer Frost are all on my list of characters to try. Wonder Woman is fun in the demo, but not my style. I'm also fairly interested in Cyborg, so I'll look into him as well. I know for a fact I'm maining Raven though.
Grimstar Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 no air blocks. The air juggling is muy bueno though.
Jackie Chandler Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 In news totally unrelated to my molestation by comic book characters or a game I'm interested in trying out, I finally managed to beat Score Attack with Yu today. Fuck Score Attack Elizabeth. Seriously. It's not even her practically instant Instant Kills that bother me - it's the fact that the moment she heals herself while she's in Awakening, the match is over, unless you already have a significant health lead. Guh. So happy to finally have it over with. ... now to do it with the other twelve characters in the game.
