I watched MBB and all I can say is that Mellis up here needs a haircut. He can't even swoosh it to the side any more. If I didn't know any better, this guy could have two sharingan eyes and the hair hides it. Or he's been in the hyperbolic time chamber, and he recently emerged while in a perma-super-saiyan state.

I also need to inform Chandler of something. I recently started playing Spelunky a bit during my off times again, and I've never made it to Hell. Well, this weekend, I was hoping to change that. In one playthrough, I was beasting until the god-forsaken ruins. Anubis was behind an entire column of blocks, with lava below those blocks on my side. I jetpacked up bombed a few of the blocks away, but, WHAT'S THIS?! AN ARROW FROM THE SPELUNKY GODS FELL FROM THE HEAVENS AND HIT ME, KNOCKING ME INTO THE LAVA!!!

Later that day, after slitting my wrists and performing several rituals to Kali (Spelunky god for those unaware), I decided to try again. I shotgunned and saved puppies throughout the levels until I got to the Ruins. The first level of the Ruins started and I spot a neat little crate in the top-right corner. I jetpack up and

straight into lava again. Fuck.

In short, everyone should play Spelunky.

Bahahahaha! Yeah, that's Spelunky for you. :P Arrow traps are probably my least favorite trap in the game. Nothing else has the potential to launch you horizontally into a number of different insta-death perils AND deal two health of damage on the off chance you survive - just because you decided to walk on screen where you could see it. Like, on their own, tiki traps are dumb, spikes can be a nuisance, and lava can be dangerous - if you're not careful. But suddenly, you throw an arrow trap in the Temple into the mix and you're getting killed after 30 minutes to an hour of hard work, simply because you didn't traverse the terrain slow enough to notice it on the edge.

That said, no other game has made me taste complete and utter defeat so many times, and leave me with nothing but the urge to overcome those treacherous odds time and time again. Spelunky is a fantastic game, and it makes me happy to know I'm not the only one in MTN playing it. :D

In short, everyone should play Spelunky.

I wasn't putting you down. That's why I put several badass things to compare it to. It was more of "get a haircut because you're negatively affecting our self esteem and making us question our beliefs" kind of thing.
