Eireprince Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 Hahaha Bridget, Baiken, Millia, Venom and Chipp have the hitbox as their face. Edit: Also Venom has one on his crotch. Low blow man, low blow.
AlexSanteria Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 Sol forums have a good combo thread. Although it talks +R, you can pretty much take anything there and copy it over to AC, just don't take combos that use 41236HS (Fafnir) in them. http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?16181-R-Sol-Badguy-Combo-Thread-%28Updated-9-20-13%29 As for other stuff I can mention here: 5k 5s 2d 236k is a good basic midscreen combo that knocks down. for the most part your bnbs midscreen are gonna be [some kinda gatling shit] into 2D into bandit revolver (236k). If you wanna talk more damaging stuff, you wanna do sidewinder loop. The deal with Sidewinder is it has a property called a Clean Hit, which grants additional hitstun and a wallbounce when it connects properly. Each character has a specific Clean Hit hitbox that you have to punch with Sidewinder (air 236HS) the Wiki entry for Sol covers alot of stuff well too. http://www.dustloop.com/wiki/index.php?title=Sol_Badguy_%28GGACR%29 Again it's for +R, but a vast majority of stuff for him carries over easily between the two versions. A simple way to sidewinder loop is this: 623k command grab > jump forward j.S > sidewinder. the time in which you have to jump and start the j.s will change depending on the character's gravity etc. you just have to get a feel for it. It's not as complicated as it sounds, however. After the first sidewinder clean hits, you have a couple options. The idea is you're basically using normals as combo filler to sort of "line up" yourself to ensure you get the second clean hit. So the combo I use for example off wild throw goes like this: 623k > jump forward j.S > sidewinder > 2HS > jump forward j.S > sidewinder > j.S straight up > sidewinder > bandit revolver. After about 3 or so sidewinders you want to end the combo with a knock down. Usually done by bandit revolvering. Here's a diagram of all the cleanhit hixboxes of each character if you're curious, http://www.dustloop.com/guides/ggac/data/images/cleanhit/clean_hit_diagrams.html although the differences aren't as huge as you might think. I'm pretty awful at explaining things so I apologize if I've confused you further. Trying to just post bnbs for Sol is weird because the answer is basically "sidewinder loop." And the loop itself is kinda dynamic because how you go about it changes depending on the screen location and all that jazz. Here's a tutorial video by VR-Raiden that basically summarizes how it works. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5lyl-gavEn0 Alright, so I figured out the basic sidewinder set ups, but I'm taking it continual loops are what I want? Also has anyone tried the 3DS port of MGS 3?
Papstr Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 Yes. You generally wanna loop it so that you get 3 or so sidewinders before ending the combo with a knockdown.
Kyle Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 Is there a weekly meet-up for Nashville? Milln x Niamat x Millis x Papster?
Milln Posted September 23, 2013 Author Posted September 23, 2013 Is there a weekly meet-up for Nashville? Milln x Niamat x Millis x Papster? Yessir. Details at the bottom of the opening post. -One at Game Galaxy Arcade on Tuesdays 4pm to 10pm. Costs six bucks, and offers unlimited play on the four to seven setups that usually feature Street Fighter, Tekken Tag 2, Persona, Kof, Marvel, Injustice, really whatever anyone brings and free play on the arcade machines around. Ooh, I should really edit that. No one really plays Tag, anymore, and there's Gear.
Grimstar Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 Man, so I went back and read some of my posts from the beginning of this thread's existence... I was one angry little motherfucker. Out like I had something to prove. Phew. Growing up is weird.
Jackie Chandler Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 Haha, I can't bring myself to do that with my old posts. I was weeaboo as fuck. I mean, I still am, but not to THAT extreme.

Uri-senpai made this avatar for me, and it's the s-source of all my DP powers! But you're a member of my rival clan... it's not like you could ever understand that...

I'm trying to learn the team for tournament play since Chris/Nova/Vergil isn't going to well. Edited September 24, 2013 by AlexSanteria
Anne Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 Is there a weekly meet-up for Nashville? Milln x Niamat x Millis x Papster? The thing about these is Papstr moved back to Cookeville, Milln doesn't play fighting games, and Naimat usually can't make it cause work. That leaves Phil(sometimes) who plays Gear, Patrick who plays everything (plug a stick up to a turd and he'll give it a shot to see what all the fuss is about), and myself for anime games usually. Sometimes other people sneak in but it's usually just that. We have 1 or 2 new guys trying to learn GG who might stick with it though, so we'll see how that goes.

I plan on moving out that way here in six-ish months once my emt stuff is over and I wouldn't be against a weekly meet up. We have one hear, and part of my decision to move is the community there.
Astaroth136 Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 Patrick who plays everything (plug a stick up to a turd and he'll give it a shot to see what all the fuss is about). This is hilariously true, and it sounds like something he himself would say. I passed him at work the other day while he was swapping out his keyboard, so I asked him what happened. His candid response was, "It shit the bed, man." And we left it at that.
Milln Posted September 25, 2013 Author Posted September 25, 2013 I, regrettably, must be absent this weekend from our event on the 28th. Work johns. I've already placed both Jackie and M'Ellis in charge of running things. I hope it doesn't need to be said, but listen to them. Setups are key, folks. I'm sorry I have to miss our first Flat Venue event, but if you want to play a game, make sure there are ample setups.

Alphakami Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 I'm pretty sure I'll be there Saturday. If you don't listen to M'Ellis I'll punch your teeth down your throat and FRC you straight into dental surgery. No hate, just business. Jackie placed higher than me at BADC so you better listen to him. He's the strongest Ky in TN. I'll also help keep things running smoothly. And no Milln, I'm not avoiding you, I miss you too buddy.
Anne Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 (edited) So it looks like Jackie and I are running things this weekend. Just a quick thing, if you want to be playing a certain game, make sure you bring a set up or console to play it on. Also we can't run everything due to time/space, but I'm all ears to ideas if you guys have set ups and we have space/time. Edit: This means +R too, there aren't any set ups for it at GG. If you want more than just a couple tournament set ups (casuals) it doesn't hurt to have one around. Edited September 25, 2013 by AnneIFrank
AlexSanteria Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 So just out of curiousity, is MTNG doing the Thanksgiving get together this year? Cause I'm gonna be off during then with no where to be. Also I'll totally bring Gundam extreme vs., y'know and potluck food.
Anne Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 (edited) So for Saturday the things I know for sure we'll have sign ups for are: Guilty Gear Persona Suguri KoF If Papstr still wants to use the ABK cab I'm down, just make sure I know and you're willing to run it. Edit: and about adding games, we can maybe fit in one more depending on time/set ups but I can't make any promises. If you have ideas let me know. Edited September 25, 2013 by AnneIFrank

Cause I'm gonna be off during then with no where to be. Also I'll totally bring Gundam extreme vs., y'know and potluck food. I believe so! We haven't started talking about it, yet, but no sense breaking the tradition. Maybe we could do it in Cookeville this time? It's been awhile since we had a party over there.
Mr.Minionman Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 I think most of the Cookeville peeps have family obligations on Thanksgiving. If we plan to have it the week before/after, or maybe a day before/after it might work, else I'd suspect there wouldn't be too many people from Cookeville able to show up, which would defeat the purpose. Also: hype for the monthly, sorry you can't make it Milln I'm putting in some more Gear practice, and some KoF practice for this event. If anyone in Extended Cookeville want to practice with me anytime out of class, text me.
Papstr Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 I'll be bringing a gear set up. TV + console. And yes Mellis, I'll run ABK on the cab, with your permission :P
AlexSanteria Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 (edited) So if anyone is down and can put up with netcode, I'm fine with doing some Persona, GG, and maybe Street Fighter IV casuals to get some practice in before KoB, which I just got off for. I don't care to host on PSN. I'm off rest of today and tomorrow. Edited September 26, 2013 by AlexSanteria
