The energy in that ballroom was really something else. Joe and I are really proud of the progress we've made thus far in organizing these events, and we're really pleased with what we have in store for this year. The venue has changed, but it is still in Morristown, NJ. The new venue is the Hyatt Morristown which is very close to the old venue, but in a completely different environment. There are TONS of places to eat within walking distance of this hotel (like 3 minute walks out the front door, VIEWABLE from your hotel room window). Joe and I have eaten at The Office bar and grill and their food and atmosphere is really good. Definitely a spot to hit up after the tournament ends to unwind. Here's the scoop on the hotel: Hyatt Morristown 3 Speedwell Avenue Morristown, NJ 07960 (973) 647-1234 =====MASS TRANSIT INFORMATION!!!===== To get to the hotel using mass transit, please take the Morristown Train Line from Penn Station in New York to the Morristown line. =========================== ROOMS CAN BE BOOKED!! Turns out, however, that ECT3 is too hype to contain everyone in one hotel. We've booked every single room in the Hyatt Morristown that was available our weekend and sold the place out. Please visit the link below to our website to see alternate hotels within 1 mile of our venue. Do, however, try the Hyatt Morristown link on that page as there could be a cancellation that opened up a room for you. If the bracket for a game is determined to be 512 and all 512 spots are filled, we will not be creating a larger bracket. Pre-register online to ensure entry into the tournaments you want to play in. SweetJohnnyCage Posted April 21, 2011 Author Posted April 21, 2011 I really don't know why I haven't posted this here. I've been so busy with school that I completely forgot. It was brought up on SRK whether or not we could run BBCS2 when it comes out. If it does come out before the event and you guys would rather us run that over BBCS, then we will most definitely accommodate.
kona Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 That was me cuz I didn't see a thread for this on DL so I asked on SRK. Glad you did post up this thread here too! I mainly posed that question cuz AE comes out in June and you guys are transitioning to that so I figure since BBCS2 is coming in May, there should be plenty of time to adjust to changes before the tournament date. A question regarding pre-registration. On the site, it allows you to pre-reg and signup for the games you want to play. Is there an option to pay for the games ahead of time on the site (like through PayPal) or do you have to print up a receipt then pay there?
SweetJohnnyCage Posted April 21, 2011 Author Posted April 21, 2011 I'll edit the site and make it a little more clear. Registration through our site works identically as it does for EVO's site. You select the games and you pay through PayPal. Thanks for the input on that!
Danny Schme Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 CS2 please. Making the move to CS2 would more than likely get you more entrants than CS1. Everyone will want to play the new version at that point since they will have had hands on time with the game. Also - Thanks again for putting AH3 in the lineup!
St1ckBuG Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 No one will be playing CS1 anymore at this point and CS2 will have been out for a month+. Change the BB tournament to CS2: no one will say anything different since EVO will be CS2. Please make sure you'll have enough setups to run BB (3+), with all playable characters, AND have enough time/manpower to run a bracket. The past two ECT tournaments have always had serious schedule, staff, and bracket problems. I'm not sure who is running BB, but make sure they actually CARE and know how to run brackets. Thanks Joe and SJC.
Mr.Biscuits Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 I think John should let Team St1ckBug run the anime games. I wouldn't mind running GG/BB or whatever.
kona Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 Team St1ckBuG ran the anime fighters pretty well at NEC imo. I would support this decision for ECT.
DoomieJ Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 ide think about coming if team stickbug ran it. just saying.
Mr.Biscuits Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 John gave me the go ahead and is going to let us run the Anime games. Now as I discuss things with John I'll see how many setups we'll have and if the space will be enough for us to run multiple games at once. I would like to run games on our own time regardless of what time the main games run. That way we can squeeze in teams and singles for the main games (BB/GG/AH3/MB) then after we can run some other hype ass Anime shit like HNK/Vanpri/VS/FUC/ Sailor Moon etc etc. Maybe do some exhibition stuff with BB/GG.
kona Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 John gave me the go ahead and is going to let us run the Anime games. Awesome!
SweetJohnnyCage Posted May 13, 2011 Author Posted May 13, 2011 Thanks Biscuits for stepping up and helping us out! It's infinitely appreciated and we're in the midst of doing inventory to see what we need to pick up before the tournament. I updated the first post to reflect BBCS2 and Kratos being banned in MK9. Also, just to clarify, the room discount is available all weekend long for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights. The cutoff for the discount is June 3, so be sure to book early. The rooms are normally like $200/night on the weekends at this place. Thanks guys!
SweetJohnnyCage Posted May 28, 2011 Author Posted May 28, 2011 Just wanted to give you guys a heads up. There are VERY VERY few rooms left at the hotel and there aren't any more that we can add into the block. Here's what we're looking at right now: Friday Night: 5 nights left Saturday Night: 12 nights left Sunday Night: 9 nights left Also, we are very much stressing online pre-reg this year. Not only does this save us a ton of time, but it also saves you money. Online registration is $25, on site registration is $35. Save yourself $10 and help us get this thing started as early as possible! To anyone who has asked me about sponsors, you will be getting an email later tonight. Sorry for the delay!
kona Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 Pre-reg'd earlier this week. Can I still register for UMK3 on site? I didn't have enough money to add that to my pre-reg.
blueNINE Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 John gave me the go ahead and is going to let us run the Anime games. Yo ulll! Good stuff, Biscuits. GUILTY GEAR...!
Hellknight10 Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 so who is going to this? I might go but I am still debating, since I are scrub
pochp Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 Montreal is coming to this... well, at least me, Brice and Steb, so far. Hotel is reserved for friday and saturday nights, so we're pretty much confirmed.
SweetJohnnyCage Posted June 14, 2011 Author Posted June 14, 2011 Hey guys, I updated the first post with schedule information as well as some more information on where to book rooms. Turns out we're too hype for the Hyatt and booked the entire hotel, but there are other hotels within 1 mile of our venue for you guys to hit the deck in.
Mr.Biscuits Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 We will be throwing GG/MB and possibly teams for the games if we get Singles done quickly. Anyone who can bring a CRT+ ps2 please do!
Mr.Biscuits Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 Yeah GG will definitely be there as with MB and possibly other anime games like Sailor Moon.
SweetJohnnyCage Posted June 16, 2011 Author Posted June 16, 2011 I added some things to the first post, specifically AE and MvC3 team tournament rules and registration/tournament start times. Also, since Skarlet will only be out for 4 days before the event, and no one has any idea how she'll play, we're going to ban her from this year's event. She could wind up being an extraordinarily broken character and 3 days is simply not enough time for people to figure out how to play with/against her. I've also made it more clear on how to pre-register for the event. I provided a direct link to the registration page in the first post with the registration info. The cutoff for pre-reg is June 19, so signup now and save $10!
