Basically, all my brother does to follow up a dust is mash P and finish up with a lightning blade once I start to fall. What're some real combos he can use?

Lightning Blade? We talking about Johnny or Ky? D, [9]D-D]9[, K-P-S>j.K-P-S-D>Ensenga D, [9]D-D]9[, K-P-K-P-S>j.S-HS-D>Ensenga D, [9]D-D]9[, K-P-K-P-S>j.S-HS>KJ(frc), S>j.S-HS-D>Ensenga D, 9HS-D, K-S>j.K-S-D>Ensenga(1st-hit only) D, 9HS-D, K-S>j.K-S-HS>KJ(frc), S>j.S-HS-D>Ensenga Somewhat strict timing on the initial HS-D. How much of a pause you leave between the j.HS-D and K-S is character specific. D, 9, 9, D>Ensenga(1-hit) D, 9, FD, D>Ensenga(1-hit) Timing is character specific.

The 236+P (or maybe S) move in the air with Johnny. I don't know the name, but I assumed it was "Lightning Blade" by the way he said it.

Tensionless Dust combo with very good 1-hit potential (corner or not) : 5D ^ [9] D, D, -9-, KPKSDE. No Jump cancel. I delay ALL the hits but granted it depends on the character AND on the distance. KPKPSDE may be used too. If you want a scrubby Dust combo for your bro, he can use the very easy : 5D ^ [9] D, D, D, Ensenga (41236HS). It is important to hold up-forward so that you get 3 Dusts in a row after the homing jump. Burning Vigor, are you sure you can perform 4 Dusts during the homing jump ?

Dust Combo to avoid Dust :

D > IAD D > Land -> Combo folowing your Level, position etc.. Very Usefull

In corner :

D > [9] D D [9> IAD > jD > Land > Powerfull Combo

The IAD timing depend following opponent and must to be done rapidly on Heavy Char and Slowly on Light Char.

Classic ID :

D > FD~jK~jD > Land > Combo

Another Dust Combos here

BV > Thanks, good to know. Is is character specific ? I tried a few times yesterday but could not manage to do it. It would be the best tensionless dust combo damage wise (no re-coin, 1-hit or knockdown) midscreen, wouldn't it ?

Maybe you are talking about another dust combo but I saw a good friend playing a nice Johnny perform this one :

"In corner : D > [9] D D -9- (wait a bit) > IAD > j.HS > j.D > Land > Powerful Combo"

Heres some d combos I fucked around with

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ndnn_goEEuw

It has the 4 D start up so you can see mits

There were tons more I made before on different chars. Actually I was making a tutorial with all kinds of 1 hits on every char, but my harddrive faild and I lost all vids. Its not the vid as so much as the text taht explained all the combos that bugged me. Owells :psyduck:

Great stuff here! I have a question in regards to your second combo in the vid; how were you able to continue the combo after the j.S that continued into the j.P > j.K > Ensenga? Every time I try it the combo ends. Is Johnny's j.S JC-able? How do you pull it off?

BV > Finally watched it, thanks ! Poor ABA, looks like you have a grudge against her. :v: Awww, after your Youtube account, now it is your HD's turn. Damn you cursed technology. Random note : the frame data states that the first hit of Ensenga causes knockdown. That unfortunately is not true as depending on your combo/setup/timing, successfully land a 1-hit high in the air (some dust combos or MF-S(2) combos including KJ FRC + triple jump) don't always guarantee a knockdown against some chars, Baiken for instance. They can tech right before touching the ground. It has a long untechable time making it looks like Ensenga-1-hit does KD most of the time but it doesn't causes knockdown as a property. This is no big deal but good to know. Or good that your opponent doesn't know this. :psyduck:

hey im on #R, does ^ mean homing jump (and does homing jump mean u cancel into an immediate jump) and does [9] mean hold 9 whole time? also, any staple juggles for #r jo =]

I'm not sure if ^ is used to indicate a homing jump... but in the case of Mitsurugi's example from earlier in the thread (5D ^ [9] D, D, -9-, KPKSDE.) the ^ probably does mean to homing jump by pressing diagonally towards your opponent (9). So in this style of notation the following is used for a homing jump: ^ [9]

You only have to press 9. It's not necessary to hold it, but you can hold 9 after connecting with 5D to make sure that you jump at the earliest possible time, just make sure to put the stick back to neutral (5) before going into the aircombo.

Okay, now just to be absolutely clear on all points, lemme break down that combo for you: 5D ^ [9] D, D, -9-, KPKSDE

Perform a 5D, then once it connects immediately hit 9 to perform a homing jump. Don't hold 9, just hit it once to initiate the jump. Quickly hit j.D, j.D, then hit 9 again to make Johnny jump while in the homing jump. Then hit the opponent with dj.K,P,K,S,D,Ensenga.

Sorry if my notation isn't "standard" or whatever, but I tried to mimic Mitsurugi's, and I think it's easy enough to understand with the notation he used anyway.
