Learning stick is worth the commitment.

Just find some time to practice, and promise yourself to not touch a controller for BB.

In two weeks, you'll look at that controller and lol, and wonder how you ever managed to use it.

Two weeks..

Guess I'll just bust my HRAP Pro back out. I got time, 2.5 weeks til the official release. Diligent play might have me slightly above scrub level. Damn, you got me thinking of the possibilities now! >_<.

That's exactly how I started to learn stick.

Late CT, I retired my (netplay) pad Arakune and spent the rest of the console CT days practicing for CS1, it was about 2 and a half weeks time.

One of the most common questions i get about learning arakune is in regards to the 6C curse loop in cs2/ex. It took me awhile before I discovered that I've been doing it wrong for a long long time. Also most people don't seem to do the loop correctly anyway. So I think we should add it to the faq.

Midscreen:

6C>5C(hold)>3C(release C + tap 5D) - full loop

Corner:

6C>5C(hold)>3C(release 6C+ tap 6d) - full loop

-Do 6C early and space out the timing of 6C>5C such that you don't release a C bug on the first 6C but not too fast that the second hit of the rekka doesn't come out at all.

-if your near corner but not quite there it's still with 5d bug

I don't know if it works when I have the back to the corner in the corner.

Using a controller is only praticing, like stick. I've tested both, and if I ommit the deplacement which I can't do correctly on stick, combo and pressing during curse (and combo without curse) were as easy on stick as on controller.

I'm not sure about your loop, is this the rekka loop or it use only 6C?

Last casuals, I was experimenting with it.

I found that the best way for me was to time the 6c just right after d bug2 and buffer the 5c. The rest is the same as you described.

Are there any reliable 5C FC or 2C FC combos (on anyone) that do 100% curse outside of the one listed in the OP of the other thread? I found the old ones (which don't work anymore due to lower techable time from 2nd dive cancel - can't get that 100%).

If it's listed anywhere and I just missed it let me know X_X If not and anyone is harboring this secret, share with me! I can't get 100% on anyone without doing 2 dive cancels...which just makes them tech. Is there some secret I'm missing? The same 5D works for a far 2C FC for 100% (haven't tested on full cast, works on Ragna), just wondering if there's anything that can get 100% off a close 2C FC.

You got the gist of it.

5c FC > 5d > etc

far 2c FC > 5d > etc

Pardon the horrifically noobish question, but I am just learning how to do Arakune's mission #12 and I'm having a lot of trouble with the very end. Is this the 6C curse loop you were talking about? What exactly is a rekka? Is that an Arakune-only thing?

Posted

Yes it is the 6C loop. So 6C > 5C > 2C. A rekka is a move that has multiple parts to it, it comes from Fei Long's 236 Punch strings.

Just read above if you need help with the 6C loop.

Thanks, Biscuits.

Also, I've been working on my dive cancels, particularly the one in challenge combo #10. I can get the actual cancel by now, but 90% of the time I whiff the third j.A that comes after (the one right after the jump cancel). Is there anything notable about the timing there? It is really hard to jump "closer" without turning the j.A into a J.6A if that makes any sense.

Just a question regarding Arakune's ideal loops for this game, which I just picked up yesterday. For midscreen I've typically been doing one pinwheel loop followed by as many 6D loops as it takes to carry them to the corner, followed by a dive loop if there's enough curse. For corner I usually just do one dive loop to put some distance between the characters and then perform an unblockable reset. Would anybody be able to inform me if this is getting the maximum damage/effectiveness, I know that a new 6A>5C>6D loop was found, and he has new diveloops, but I'm not sure what the notations for the latter are. Thanks!

if its a good starter you should do max damage mid screen. You can do just about the same damage mid screen compared to corner.

Carry them to corner if you need the reset.

Which direction do I do the double quarter circle to let off arakune's F-Inverse after a ground grab? It seems to throw them straight up, but there has to be a direction he throws them either behind or in front of him.

Posted

That's the primary differentiation between his normal throw and his back throw, you just have to know if you input (6) a+b or 4a+b, and confirm whatever you inputted.

If you did a back throw, your notations are actually 214214c since they fly behind you.

Posted

yeah it's something you'll get used to~

if your on 1p side:

forward throw is 236236C

back throw is 214214C

counter assault is 214214C

just spend alittle time in training mode and test it out.. usually the mistakes come from when you tried to do forward throw but you were in block stun and you did counter assault instead.. being able to visibly tell the difference between forward and back throw helps

Hey. How do I play this character? lol I feel like, I understand his neutral, but I don't know what to do when I actually get them cursed. =x

Posted

Did you take a look around the respective threads (videos, combos, wiki)?

Posted

I did, but most of what I find are videos in japanese while mere visual is not enough for me to able to learn exactly what I need to do in curse. Idk, I just don't know where to start looking. @-@

Posted

Did you check the combo thread OP?

You're being rather vague, the direction I'm pointing you should help make your questions more accurate and precise.

Posted

I apologize if I'm not being clear. Well, I've checked most of the threads, I know how to combo, I know how to pressure, I know his neutral.... I suppose what I'm trying to get at exactly is this; whats the best way to actually approach when you get them in curse? You know so, that the enemy is locked down and I can actually get them into a pressure situation. Like, I just don't get it. Every time I get curse I just kinda hit all the buttons and attempt to move this character across the screen, but he controls so... bleh. lol

Well, good lockdown tools are the b and c bug, used together is a viable pressure string, on hit you can confirm into j.6x > dj.6x > usual curse combo.

You can include the A bug in between strings of 3a.

Main methods of travel include forward dash, j.44 at walls to close in from the other side. 2c for mid range approach, though for this method, be sure to include some bugs for this (b and a specifically). Test them out in training mode.
