Dacidbro Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 Yeah, that intro video was a little bit frustrating.. they clearly didn't care at all about BB being a game there. Actually that was kind of a theme at EVO.
ZeroRaider Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 Hmm, kind of thought there would some change in attitude with it finally at evo. I know the HOW of the BB stigma, but I wonder WHY is it still stuck there even after the good changes in the game and there are people willing to contribute and help it grow it yet, it seems like we keep going back to square one. It gets a little frustrating at times..
Dacidbro Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 We're breaking through. People saw that BB is a good game, at EVO, and a lot of people are picking it up now. I'm going to be teaching FChamp in coming weeks how to play Lambda or another, and I heard some other top players like Chris G were going to pick it up too.
huey253 Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 yeah i actually played BB with some local SF players recently because they asked... If certain individuals would stop shitting on the game/community, things would move just a tiny bit faster. Constructive criticism is great, but thats usually something we don't get.
qwerty Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 if you want an example of good informative commentary, just get qwerty to commentate and emulate him i offered back in cs1 more than once but i guess people prefer jokes about characters being too strong and stuff. i honestly don't even think my commentary's that good but compared to what bb has right now... (and if you're worried about me "shitting on the game", i don't think i've done that once during commentary)
A.X.I.S. Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 Qwerty is the best commentator and he doesn't even play the game. Also Huey has the best idea ever. Just don't use Dacid commentary.
Dacidbro Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 i honestly don't even think my commentary's that good but compared to what bb has right now... What does that even mean? There's a lot of strong commentators for Blazblue.

If you want to do commentary, i'm sure chun will let you at NCI. If you don't, then its whatever. Dacidbro isn't that bad at commentary Yeah the idea i have is almost like a multi character combo video, but its something else. Kinda of hard to describe. I think people know what i'm getting at though. We should make it happen... With each character having a 15-20 second spot.

huey253 Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 i wasn't taking dibs or anything yet, i think the content for each character should be voted on by that character's forums. 15ish seconds to show off what each character can do. With some good (possibly custom) music and awesome transitions. It would be cool if multiple people made suggestions for each character so we have more to pick from.
LuminAbyss Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 I agree with this idea big time. Dibs on Ragna
C0R Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 Was just poking fun, I'm sure the content will be well discussed with the community before anything goes live. I am in full support of this idea though, community projects are always a great thing.
huey253 Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 Small community projects ftw. I guess i could give a couple possible examples of what i mean. I'll make a thread about it when I get a demo done.
Crosell Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 (edited) Dibs Mu. Dibs Relius :3 Joking aside, My feed back on commentary It seems like most BB communities are small and close knit. And a lot of the commentary seem to be inside jokes among that particular community. Thats all. This community project interesting, but I'm not really sure it would draw that much attention. There are already combo videos out there, that compiling a small video that show cases all characters would probably only appeal to those that already play the game at a beginners level. I think doing more than a combo video with character break downs and strategy might be more productive(Like BB CT dvd) to grab attention from the entire community and help teach newer players who are borderline. This. The BBCT DVD was great because it had sample combos to get started, and it had strategies from the pros on what you would generally wish to do with that character. As a beginner, it really made me want to get into playing BB and be part of the community and such.
Linear04 Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 isnt the bbct dvd basically replicated in a hands on way in cs through tutorial mode and challenge mode?
huey253 Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 yes, thats why i thought it was unneccesary. but hey that could be another project too :P
BeaverDeity Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 It had people like Mike Z talking instead of Rachel so it's instantly better :3
Koopa_Klawz Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 It had people like Mike Z talking instead of Rachel so it's instantly better :3 that voice will never get old even if it got old for Mike Z. :3

There's already something in the works (or SUPPOSED to be, anyway) that encompasses both your ideas, in this thread. Whatever happened to that project, anyway? Was it cancelled?
