Osuna Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 We'll see, Tager will stay third string until he gets something interesting to play with. CS1>CS2 Tager was almost no changes. Also, I have no mic for skype.360A combos were almost completely removed, 6A had speed, damage, proration, and property changes, All magnetic moves had pull frames changed, 360B got crazy combo ability changes, 6B became a joke, and 5A lost the ability to cancel into 360. Collider got a damage nerf too. 720 had multiple property changes We also got the gimmicky XYH cancel, and it get a different motion. All of these things changed our combos too. We got plenty of tweaks
FlyingVe Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 I wasn't implying tere were no changes, but Tager was on the whole, the same with just some tweaks here or there.

Manta Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 No-one else commented that terra break does 1000 minimum damage now. That just shunted up our minimum damage a fair bit. I wonder if it's because their raised the minimum damage on it or just raised the damage completely? If it's the latter then terra break hits for 5000 damage base.

If it's the latter then terra break hits for 5000 damage base.I highly doubt they added 1.5k to terra. More realistically it'll increase the damage of some combos 300 points, which isn't That much. Thought it might be a combination of a damage boost and a min damage boost, but there are ways to make Terra hit at as high as 64% and I highly doubt they'll let us get a terra that hit's for 3k.
Manta Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 Still, free damage is free damage. It felt a bit silly that our combo ender super did 700 damage (and killed off the combo proration for anything after) and everyone else's was landing for 1000+ minimum, with Mu's and noel's taking the cake at 1200 minimum.

Valk's ground super in CS1 did 1800 minimum :3 I'm just glad to see that we're getting at least CS1 damage back. The fact that we can get 3.6K off of a 2B is great cause that means we're back at CS1 standards. They nerfed the shit out of 5B/2B Starting proration in CS2 so we have that back. If I had to guess though, given that they made Collider have more severe Repeat Proration, that instead of just giving us back 100% P1 for 5B/2B, they're giving us a combo rate buff to give us more comb options. Adding a combo rate buff would dictate a need for a more severe Repeat Proration or else Tager would be getting 4-4.5K off of pretty much anything. But this made me go into my theoretical Training Mode again and think up how maybe we could get some really good use out of things like the ASledge>2B link. Like a high Proration starter with Magnetism could probably yield a lot of damage and more importantly, Meter. Something like AA 5C>AC>ACWhiff>6C>j.2C>5B>3C>ASledge>2B>2C>AC>BGadget might work. Hmmm...I wish I had some visual evidence of how stuff works now cause then I could come up with more legit theory combos :3

Character combo rates are applied after all other proration and have no effect on the untechable time of a combo.
BKDennis Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 BGadget in CSEX is blue beat And 4D magnetism properties are changed, so maybe we lost 4D>22D. Probably now as enders we have only EGadget and 2D
Manta Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 This is not true. Character combo rates are applied after all other proration and have no effect on the untechable time of a combo. I think he meant that the same combos we can do now would just be doing lots more damage. It looks like the way things are going, we need to start researching one-collider combos but with lots of other hits instead. Currently most Tager combos are just "quickest path to AC in current situation, second collider if possible, MTW". Whereas now we might get some milage out of some of the more odd links, like "Asledge, 2A (Crouching or fatal only)".
Osmond Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 (edited) BGadget in CSEX is blue beat Probably now as enders we have only EGadget and 2D Is that from the increased sledge recovery? Guess we have to go one without the easier mag but considering how most treat mag here. I don't think it will be missed. Maybe we will actually use hammer now? Edited August 29, 2011 by Osmond
OrionXElite Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 This is not true. Character combo rates are applied after all other proration and have no effect on the untechable time of a combo. The combo rating thing was a mistake on my part. I forgot Combo Rating didn't apply to untech time. But the second statement still holds true that a Combo Rating buff of even 10% would make his damage output huge.

But the second statement still holds true that a Combo Rating buff of even 10% would make his damage output huge. With the current way things are, yeah. They've just done weird stuff with tager like....he has a 40% combo rate, but collider, MTW and terrabreak ignore the combo rate.... I feel like it would be better for him to have a comparable combo rate to other chars, that way you could modify your combos for damage/positioning/knockdown, while right now....you just do knockdown because going for damage will net you about 300 points of damage in return for pulling them out of the corner. >.>
NumeroGaijin Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 No I think people may have misread what they were sayin about sledge blue beat after collider. They were talking about, from my understanding, after 360B after the first collider the sledge will blue beat. Read it again because I don't remember them saying that it blue beat across the board...meaning off of our standard combos.
hakimiru Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 If you're talking about this snippet posted by Axis, the translator left some minor details out. コレダ後にBスレ→ガジェできないのは Bスレ突進までの時間が長くなってるからだね 生コレダ→Bスレが青になる "Not being able to do B-sledge→gadget after collider is probably due to B-sledge having a longer delay before the active frames start" "Raw collider→B-sledge blue beats" Hope that clears things up~

As in grabbing them out of a jump? Would it still work in a combo?
OrionXElite Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 According to that, no. The current changes to BSledge make it impossible to it. So our go to option as it stands now will be EGadget or if there is a necessity for Heat, Spark>GF. I'm sure other options could pop after the changes are finalized and people get to experiment more.

If you don't want to go for a second collider (because of the repeat rate). You can use 41236D, 6C > j.2C, 22D or 41236D, 6C > j.2C, 5B > 4D
OrionXElite Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Thats only assuming the j.2C wouldn't be techable by that point in the combo. With 6C having an 80% P2, you usually gotta throw that pretty early in the combo in order to get the untechable j.2C. But we'll see,
TagerTime Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 (edited) So apparently sledge is similar to deadspike now? i dont have time to ask for translations in the loketest thread about it from the jbbs. Edited September 1, 2011 by TagerTime
A.X.I.S. Posted September 1, 2011 Author Posted September 1, 2011 (edited) I have to investigate this and post that excerpt TT. Edit: I just checked it out and it seems they are just talking about what if's or whatever. Although if Bsledge did make them flip like it's dead spike I wouldn't even know how to use it.
