Vulcan422 Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Already loving her. She's slow, but she gets so much easy damage. A simple BnB shaves off like 1/3 of the opponent's health.
SolxBaiken Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Yeah, I dunno what you mean by "missing something", Tenga is like a way dirtier Tengu, her unique gimmicks are just so satisfying to pull off and her stuff is pretty easy [100% her trials within 30mins of getting her ] mostly about getting the stance follow up timing right (but nowhere near as suffering as Apa). I still need to get some actual play in with her, but she is a lot of fun to mess around with.
SolxBaiken Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Ok, just had like 30+ games with LunaKage using Tenga and . . . They seriously need to buff her close range options D: at mid and far ranges she's just fine but once the opponent is in her face she has like 0 "win" options. All she can do is yomi or YOLO into something. Granted Lulu plays fast characters (Marie and Ayane) but still, Tenga should be able to do something to get the opponent off of her and put them back in her comfortable ranges. I kind of wish she had more sabaki actions, cause I like 6+PK since she's counted as crouching and it is a mid but if they're not doing a high then you're kind of s.o.l. Granted, I'm a total scrub [when I could land 236+T I missed my follow up 50% of the time >.<] and she is still new for us console gamers. Guess I'll see how I feel in a month or at TFC.
Sashi Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 She has P+K which is decently fast and stuns on NH. It will beat Ayane's mid options 'cause she has a slow 13f mid. 8K is a good high crush that also launches, so it's good to disrespect with it. She also does really good damage from pretty much every stun level. She has a reset throw and a good launch throw. I'm liking how she plays so far, but I don't think she's that good, honestly.

Sashi Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 Tengu was shit, though. Like almost unplayable garbage. She's so much better than him. Outside of the near broken version in 2.

For those interested in learning Ayane, I'll be doing a tutorial stream this Sunday at 6pm PST. You can find the information for topics and stream link in this thread here; http://www.freestepdodge.com/threads/team-best-ayane-tutorial-stream-by-hajinshinobi.4838/
Sashi Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 When more than half the cast is 11f and 12f, 13f is on the slower side.
Dogars Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 So is it too soon for a discussion on Tengu's placement on the tier list?
TekkamanArk Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 So is it too soon for a discussion on Tengu's placement on the tier list? Well, she's been out for a few months in arcades, so maybe not. If I had to guess though, i'd say lower-mid.
HajinShinobi Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 When more than half the cast is 11f and 12f, 13f is on the slower side. i13 frame mids are not slow. A character like Ayane has just as much of a strong CQC neutral as a character with i11 and i12 mids. I don't understand why I have to keep repeating this over and over to people.
Sashi Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 I didn't say she's weak at close range. I said she had a slow mid. 'Cause she does.
HajinShinobi Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 I didn't say she's weak at close range. I said she had a slow mid. 'Cause she does. i11 are the fastest mid strikes in DOA, this is considered as fast. i12 and i13 mids are of average speed, they are considered so. i14-i16 are of slow speed, so they are considered as such. If i13 frame mids were slow, then most grapplers would have them (no Rachel is not a grappler), and not i14 frame mids. i13 frame mids are of average strike speed for strikers. I never feel like I'm "slow" with i13 frame mids, my character's mid strike speed is just fine. I have to repeat this segment over and over because people like overrating strike speed in this game so much. i13 frame mids are of average speed, they are not slow.

Dude... http://i.imgur.com/CeiXIHT.jpg Look, i respect the support and what you've been doing. You're a great player, but when someone disagrees with you.. you flip off on them as if they're always wrong just because they disagree with you. How about this... i11 mids are fast... i12 mids are the average... i13 mids are fast for super heavyweights/grapplers and i14 mids are the average for super heavyweights/grapplers. People are going to disagree with you.. and you have to understand this. Hell, I expect you to disagree with me in this post right now.. and that's ok. Because like i said, not everyone is going to agree with you.
HajinShinobi Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 RANT... lol no. i11 mids are fast, i12-i13 are average, i14-i16 are slow.

Blade Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 So I just caved and bought Nyotengu (no she's not my waifu, I just like ladies in hime cuts!) and I'm just wondering if there's any basics guides for her yet?

SolxBaiken Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 Seems we can look forward to 2 more characters and quite a few new stages in Last Round.
SolxBaiken Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 So Famitsu confirms what the TGS build hinted at; 2 new characters (1 male, 1 female with the woman being a completely new character while the man's status was not hinted at. Also apparently, at least, the new woman will be rendered in a new in-house software designed to better depict "softness" and "warmth" of bodies . . . beyond creepy subtext I hope this doesn't mean an uneven presentation). They're also billing this as the final DoA5 game, which makes sense since they are developing Last Round for PS4 and X1, so next game should be a full blown sequel.
TekkamanArk Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Hmm? Was this new? I recall seeing a topic on Gamefaqs linking to a Famitsu article about the 2. The guy gave a brief description of what the article said, to the effect of "the female will be new, and won't have black hair" (which I didn't understand why that was relevant) and "the male is someone people will be happy with. This was the article: http://www.famitsu.com/news/201409/19061847.html
SolxBaiken Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 lololol can't wait to see Mecha Raidou, wonder if he'll differ significantly from his Dimensions incarnation?
Kyosuke Kagami Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 I understood that this Last Round thing will feature a "F2P" version for Ps4, right? I am really hoping all the DLC you got from Core Fighters (AKA the fighters, the outfits and etc) gets transferred to this. I don't want to spend my money on those things again.
