  1. Hello all, anyone here that plays Last Round and has an interest in learning Ayane, I will be streaming a tutorial on Twitch at 5pm PST today. Thread information and stream link are provided here; http://www.freestepdodge.com/threads/ayane-tutorial-stream-with-hajinshinobi.5689/ http://www.twitch.tv/hajinshinobi
  2. lol no. i11 mids are fast, i12-i13 are average, i14-i16 are slow.
  3. i11 are the fastest mid strikes in DOA, this is considered as fast. i12 and i13 mids are of average speed, they are considered so. i14-i16 are of slow speed, so they are considered as such. If i13 frame mids were slow, then most grapplers would have them (no Rachel is not a grappler), and not i14 frame mids. i13 frame mids are of average strike speed for strikers. I never feel like I'm "slow" with i13 frame mids, my character's mid strike speed is just fine. I have to repeat this segment over and over because people like overrating strike speed in this game so much. i13 frame mids are of average speed, they are not slow.
  4. i13 frame mids are not slow. A character like Ayane has just as much of a strong CQC neutral as a character with i11 and i12 mids. I don't understand why I have to keep repeating this over and over to people.
  5. i13 frame mids are not slow, please stop saying that. i11 are considered fast, i12 and i13 are considered average, i14 and above are considered slow. For those interested in learning Ayane, I'll be doing a tutorial stream this Sunday at 6pm PST. You can find the information for topics and stream link in this thread here; http://www.freestepdodge.com/threads/team-best-ayane-tutorial-stream-by-hajinshinobi.4838/
  6. She's okay, and by okay, I imply she's just that and nothing more. Her neutral is borderline terrible. i9/i12/i12 is very good speed, but it doesn't exactly do the character a lot of justice when her string variation is poor. Any string past neutral PP puts her at risk, even the 6P itself is a risk on block. That free cancel can be thrown on reaction on block (offline), simply because there are no follow ups past 6P that you have to be afraid of. She doesn't haven't any string low variants like Kasumi, except for PP2K. And honestly, that's so easy to see. Her 3P is not a neutral poke at all, it's throw punishable at -8. Blocking this character correctly puts her in a very awful position. As Phase 4, and versus players that have a brain, she's going to struggle a lot in the neutral. She's going to be heavy on P, PP, 2P, K/KK, PP2K, and 6P in the neutral. Moreso with P and 2P because even her KK on block is a risk, you're already going to hit her low since there's no mid or low variant there. (if her 2P wasn't +0 on neutral hit, she would be god awful). Tick throwing, and just throwing more in general will have to be part of how she's going to open you up, more often than not. She will need counter hits more than anything else to get her offense started. Once she can actually start her offense in threshold, she's actually quite good. The teleport transitions on hit confirm are strong for mix up. And her damage is excellent. But she is that kind of character that has her work cut out for her when things are neutral. She's not going to be aggressive, that'll get her killed, and fast. Phase 4 players will need to develop some patience and learn to be defensive more often to get anything started. Also, if anyone would like to play, I have DOA5U on both 360 and PS3. I'm down for playing sets with anyone.
  7. Prince Adon is hosting and streaming a Team BEST on XBL, hit him up if you'd like to join; http://www.twitch.tv/team_best
  8. Team BEST PSN lobby will begin at 5pm PST today. It'll be up for about 2-3 hours. It'll be an 8 player lobby this time instead of the usual 6. Private lobby, so if you'd like to join, send me a message or friend request on PSN. ID is iHajin A small definition of what Team BEST is about; "Our sole purpose is assisting other players in a positive and constructive manner. Encouraging them, teaching basic, intermediate and advance level techniques. Constructive criticism on their game play, and offering play sessions when available. We are a group, not a clan." I'm not always here at Dustloop (although I will be soon again since I'm picking up Tsubaki in BBCP), I'm usually at FreeStepDodge since DOA is my main game. So other than PSN/XBL, if anyone wishes to contact me where I usually frequent, you can visit my profile page there if you like; http://www.freestepdodge.com/members/ihajinshinobi.366/
  9. I'll be streaming and hosting a lobby on XboxLive today at 5pm PST. If you're interested in playing today, lemme know here or send me a message on XboxLive telling me you want an invite. I am more than willing to critique or lend advice if requested. http://www.twitch.tv/team_best I also have DOA5U on PSN, so if anyone wants to play sometime, I'm down (7th Fonon has played me before).
  10. DOA5UA 1.04 Change list; http://www.freestepdodge.com/threads/dead-or-alive-5-ultimate-arcade-ver-1-04-change-log.4013/
  11. I forgot Dustloop actually has a thread for DOA here. Very nice. Ayane is not a straight forward character at all. Characters like Genfu, Ein and Rachel are straight forward. EDIT: Anyone here live in the Los Angeles area (or SoCal in general) interested in attending a tournament for DOA5U next Saturday? http://www.freestepdodge.com/threads/12-28-2013-socal-doa-tournament-its-a-wonderful-fight-inglewood-ca.3836/ If anyone is also interested in some offline casuals, quite a few of us SoCal regulars get together on weekends and sometimes during the week. We're always looking into expanding our play group and I'm personally always looking into reaching out to more players to get active in the scene.
  12. LMAO! I like how you quoted part of the important statements. xD Yeah, I'll be around a bit more often now, gotta brush up on the BB knowledge again for CP. I may get a PS3 soon too since I prefer playing DOA5U on it's pad (I'm solid on both the PS3 and 360 pads, but KBD'ing on PS3's D-Pad is like a second language to me, just like Ayane's Integrated Movement is lol). Are all the same people still in the Tsubaki Skype Group? I will be at Wednesday Night Fights this week for DOA5U by the way, if you (or anyone else) is interested. The game is extremely solid.
  13. Thank you, Errol. And, Tsubaki is looking pretty spiffy in comparison to her BB:EX iteration. I've been loving the things I've been seeing out of her from the JP players compared to BB:EX.
  14. It's been way too long since I've been around here. Just stopping by to say that it's great that the usual folk (and new faces that I am not familiar with, sorry I haven't been to Dustloop in quite some time) are still around in the Tsubaki community to keep it strong. This sub-forum is still as organized as I remember it to be. Seems like a lot of you are looking forward to BB:CP. I may pick it up and start playing Blazblue again alongside DOA5U (because honestly, I really miss this game and I'd like to get back into it). I thought I'd come by to check the forums after speaking with Kiba recently. I haven't played Blazblue in a long time, but I still remember how the game is played. I hope Kiba, BatousaiJ, Pktazn, Errol, TheGreatRapter, Logicholeflaw, and LunarSelenia are all still representating Tsubaki well (online and offline competitive play). I learned a lot from all of you back in BB:CSII days from the critique and advice I got, and stronger players you guys recommended for me to play with. Really helped me out a lot back then (still actually applying most of that advice now). Maybe I'll be around again some time and try to help contributing here. In the mean time, I've got 3 tournaments to prepare in DOA5U, and I intend on winning all of them.
  15. I meant in Extend, I should have specified.
  16. I'm expecting to see more hard proof than what's already summed so far. It's not enough right now.
  17. I'm moreso wondering how well or not her normals will be this time. Both air and ground normals. Tsubaki's been one of those characters that has not had a great set of normals, according to frame data.
  18. Yeah, DP whiffs were practically the way to combo with Tsubaki in CSII, I know. But just because you can do them doesn't automatically make you better than the player that can't do them. If the player that can't do them is playing more solid than the one that can, that player is not better simply because he can't do DP whiffs? If this player places higher in competitive play over another player that can do DP whiffs, that player isn't better simply because he can't do DP whiffs? You just basically summarized my last post with this one statement.
  19. No, part of being a "Complete Player" is maximizing damage to the best of your ability. Not maximizing damage with the highest damaging combo. Yes, it is always better to do these higher damaging combos for higher damage. But if one is unable to do so, then one should NOT center their gameplan around this. There have hundreds of times in tournament play when a player is playing very solid. But they end up losing momentum because they try to get greedy and step out of their own comfort zone to perform a combo or setup they obviously can't do. Being a complete player is being able to handle EVERYTHING with your character to the best of your own ability. This means handling your character's matchups well, knowing how to handle almost every situation, and staying level headed while playing. If you have to use a combo that is a little less damaging than a combo that would be more "appropriate" for that situation, then so be it. Not being able to perform a certain combo(s), but can play 10 times better than the player(s) that can, is what is more important. Anyone can practice high damaging combos.
  20. That's just maximizing on damage. You just said that yourself lol. Maximizing damage and being a complete player are different things.
  21. Using Tsubaki's DP whiff combos didn't make anyone a "Complete Tsu player" during CSII. Playing her correctly as much as possible did.
  22. Oh, whoops. *Must read moar*
  23. I'm wondering if 22D will possibly eat up primers or make her plus (more blockstun maybe?) since it's no longer an unblockable. I'm also very curious about the range on her command throw and how much damage can be done from combo'ing off of it.
  24. I really don't like using charge moves. It's the only reason why I'm not playing Mitsuru in P4A. But Tsubaki only has one so it's fine. Now the only issue is for me to find some place for P4A and BB locals that isn't too far away. Still not going to see me on Xboxlive anytime soon.
  25. Oh gawd, charge moves x_x Well it's only one move, been playing her way too long to let that scare me off anyway. A new command grab sounds neat though, especially if we're able to combo off of it.
