Starlight777 Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 If anyone wants a JRPG to ruin all JRPGs, I dare y'all to play Star Ocean 4. Everything... EVERYTHING EVERYTHING EVERYTHING is a stereotype of sorts. Character designs, personalities, story.... Battle system's fun, but that's it. Trophies are hard as hell to get too. >_> I played it and halfway through I wanted to violently murder Edge.
YukiBlue Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 Tales of Vesperia was a carbon copy of the Anime Stereotype. Somewhat Broody MC with a Sword, He uses the Azure (Or some form of it) In this case Azure Edge The Naive, dopey Female counterpart. The Blonde, Illusive authority Figure who the Female counterpart has a secret crush on. (Also, Childhood Friend of the MC) A Shota with a lot of fighting potential, But he's a bit of a crybaby Then you think, Wait! That's the same as Blazblue! Ragna Jin Noel Carl I'd list more but I never finished the game. I love JRPG's dont get me wrong, I love all RPG's, And Lumin, I wasn't aiming it specifiically at you <3 It's just, Some are really generic, with a really boring plot, Yet score huge reviews and are branded classics. I'll stick to Dragon Quest and whatever PSP ports I can find.
Nemesis Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 I still enjoy FF series... recently XIII which makes absolutely no sense and nothing is explained well, so for the first several hours your like... "AMAZING IMAGERY BUT WHY IS THIS DOG BITING ME?"
Aile Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 I still enjoy FF series... recently XIII which makes absolutely no sense and nothing is explained well, so for the first several hours your like... "AMAZING IMAGERY BUT WHY IS THIS DOG BITING ME?" I only watched my sister play XIII (which she borrowed from my friend) on my ps3 when she visits me . It feels more like an interactive movie for the early chapters in the game imo Then again I barely play JRPGs or any RPG's at all. (the most recent one in a long while is fate/extra but ehh, took a break from it)
Sphere211 Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 XIII was fun for the most part. I got a little bored after a while since the game was a straight line, more so than X. I might even try my hand at XIII-2 if I have the money and time, since it's supposedly just a bigger improvement. My favorite FF is VIII though, I only played it this summer, but I got really into it. I should get around to VII and IX though. I was never that big on the FF series, my heart and soul was too into Pokemon to care. [oh look, did I make a pun?]
Lord Pwnge18 Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 I thought XIII was really fun, until my save file got corrupted on the third disk. I cried manly tears that day. And I'm hype for XIII-2, it looks boss as hell.
ThunderboltZ28 Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 My favorite Final Fantasy games are the Nintendo ones and Tactics. VII was okay, hate VIII, like IX, hate X-XIII excluding XI.
bakahyl Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 Atleast FF-13 was better than the other hyped rpg that i bought my ps3 for: End of Eternity/Resonance of fate.
Lythium Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 I think I am one of the few that really liked XIII. VI is da bess though.
bakahyl Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 XIII was too linear, but otherwise i did like some aspects of the game. Most of the FF games weren't that good after 6 or 7 (i didn't like VII too much but it was the first RPG to introduce JRPG's to the general audience in the US and Europe, so ok ) and i hated really hated X-2. Those dressspheres were nothing but fanservice moments
Sphere211 Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 i hated really hated X-2. Those dressspheres were nothing but fanservice moments It was still a fun game, but yeah, it was all fanservice. We all could have lived without it... Once I maxed out the Mascot dress spheres, the game was too easy >_>
SolarMisae Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 Final Fantasy GD. Somehow I wish I didn't dislike a lot of the FF games and had useful commentary to contribute. ... No not really. Lately I've been taking BB less and less seriously. I feel like I've gone down quite a few levels with Mu, maybe it's the slump between CS2 and CSX thats getting to me. Someone re-hype me to start practicing again.
ThunderboltZ28 Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 I lose every game I play so I'm not very hype. I'm losing in KoFXIII right now anyway so I'm even less hype for BlazBlue.
Sphere211 Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 I lose every game I play so I'm not very hype. ^^^ This. I'm one of those people that rusts very easily and can't transition very well so I've been less hype for BBSEX then I was before MvC3 1.5 came out. If I go back to BB now I'm just going to fail hard, even against AI and just rage. It'll take me too long to transition. But I guess that will be the beauty of BBSEX. I'll have to relearn my characters, learn Relius, and the rusty-ness will probably make it easier to release old habits... or not. >__> Re-hype so we get hype... hoorah.
ThunderboltZ28 Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 I still haven't learned how to play CSII and a new version is almost here? Oh well. Back to training mode. I hope Relius is fun to lose with.

Practice that hot hitconfirm j.b CH j.2c 5b Ch SoD
YukiBlue Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 CS2 was a low-point for me. It was balanced. Just not that fun. The Lul between the versions affects us all.
Nemesis Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 I've found a small Group I can practice frequently with so I don't rust in fact I think I'm Making a few small improvements. Slow albeit but nonetheless...
SolarMisae Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 Practice that hot hitconfirm j.b CH j.2c 5b Ch SoD Those are indeed quite delicious. The CH j.B > j.2C hitconfirm I actually have been able to do, but I didn't know CH 5B SoD worked~ Mu, why so broke?
Lord Pwnge18 Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 CH j.b>j.2c is boss There are people in Utah? Nope, just Nemesis.
C0R Posted November 28, 2011 Author Posted November 28, 2011 5b SoD is required for the standing punish combo.
