Thanks AXIS, I was already planning on at least subbing Tager in EX because he looks pretty fun to play now. Not to mention I can't have a really good argument with him because I don't play Tager and just go by what I see in match videos more than anything else, hopefully this will make me a bit more aware of anything Tager related.

Also, whilst making the guide I came up with this little cause for research; Is it possible to add Sledge into combos and if so, is it ever worth doing? The damage and proration seem good. Trick is getting enough untech time to do it. All I can think of are 2C and Hammer counterhits.

i just got the game an hour ago this morning. Can someone that has the game please tell me how to do Voltec counter Hammer and Voltec counter 720? i dont see it listed in the command list or instruction manual and i cant figure out how to do it. thank you

For voltech hammer when someone hits the guard point continue holding D but input 236A, doesn't matter when they hit the guard point you can do it anytime after.

For 720 I have no idea and am still trying to figure it out.

Thanks Axis. Ok i think i found the answer to voltec counter 720, but yahoo and google give 2 differnt translations. Something about it was changed in CSX arcade version 1.11

Just need someone that knows japanese to translate this properly. It better not have been removed or im gona go insane.:vbang:

終了動作を潰されるとチャージされない。

タメている間は上中段にGPが発生し、下段以外の攻撃を耐える事ができる。

6Aのアーマーと違い、ガードポイントなのでバーストにも耐えれる。

出始めと終わり際の無防備な状態に注意。

出始めをGETB、KOTでキャンセルできるようになった。

立ちジェネのコマンドは

621486D24C8(右向き時)

423684D26C8(左向き時)

となり、簡単になった。

変更点

GP発生時にスレッジハンマー追加攻撃(236A)、 GETB でキャンセルできるようになった。

※バージョンアップ(ver.1.11)に伴い、GETBでキャンセルできなくなった。

I don't have the game, but you can try inputting 236A / 720C while getting hit during VC's guard points.

Edit: Nevermind, didn't notice that I was on the 2nd to the last page of the thread, lol.

Playing around in Csx practice mode. Appears Tagers Asledge had a lvl increase and it is now safe on block and instant block. I don't recall seeing this listed before. Maybe I'm wrong. Practiced this against platinims bat.

Do you mean that you had platinum block/IB an Asledge, and then attempted to punish with 5D bat? 5D bat is 11f startup, it was never able to punish Asledge. Assuming it's the same as CS2, tager's Asledge is -4 on block. This is unpunishable normally, but with IB it becomes -7 and can then be punished by 5A from everyone in the cast. So what you want to check, is if it can be punished on IB by 5As in CSX.

I set platinum to instant block and immediately spam 5a. She was unable to punish a or b sledge at all. .then I picked platinum and set tager to Asledge then block. I was again unable to hit tager with 5a before he could block it.

Also Asledge hit effect on block is the same as the his other lvl 4 moves like bsledge and 5c

OK I tried same test with ragna. Instant block 5a or inferno divider did not punish asledge.

i went back and tried the same thing in cs2 practice mode, it was very easy for me and the record mode to punish tagers Asledge with 5a and inferno divider on instant block.

went back to csx and its very tight to punish tager with 5a and was unable to punish at all with inferno divider. the computer record mode cant punish 5a or inferno divider at all. His blocked Asledge effect is definitely changed to that of a lvl4 move.

I'm still damn curious as to the whole VTC Guard Point > 720 thing. I hope that CSX arcade version 1.11 didn't flat-out get rid of it, but... my Japanese is rusty as all hell, but I'm pretty sure that last line is basically saying something along the lines of "when the game went to version 1.11, GETB cancel couldn't be done." Shit. I could be reading it wrong though. I forgot exactly what that final conjugation means. Maybe they simply don't have it figured out yet?

just tested Asledge on IB and stuff...

sad news though, makoto can 5A through Asledge on IB. you have to time your jab, but it is possible to punish Asledge on IB with a 5 frame move at the very least.

Asledge has 2 more frames of startup too so it's even easier to IB than before.

Be careful with it or when you see a IB rapid.

It seems like it is saying in version 1.11 that the cancel does not exist. That would explain why I haven't seen it in awhile. I think thats really stupid because that i such a cool tool to have. Even though it pretty much says that I would still recommend testing it still.
