SansProtocol Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 I wish my match with Tyger was recorded. That was some of the hypest shit EVER! Also, I am a little girl and I love glitter. P.S. I barely remember the last round and the subsequent glitter-bombing but I guess I took it like a pro. I was laughing so hard at that free ass looking mofo until I saw that he was wearing my sweatshirt.
HIGEKING42 Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 i was hoping that sans would win. it would've been funny if he won.
Romeyurhomey Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Rewatching the matches w/commentary to take notes on my mistakes its nice to see everyone have little to no faith in me ... I'm quitting this game Cary do you believe in yourself? That is what all that matters. Sometimes I watch your matches and I don't see the logic and thinking as your playing. I literally see you press D as if it was a DP. Yes it has invincibility frames like all her drives do but their not reversals. I kept getting blown by it because I kept on running into them and not hitting your fucking shins. I think your not a bad player, you rely on gimmicks and mashing as your weakness when your frustrated. Does that make sense?
Kurushii Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 I always saw the same in his play style. He only really mashes out the starter input, but yea exactly like it's a dp to him lol. Course if I had a 19F invul 4D, and a 8F low invul 2D i'd do the same. :/
Setsuna Posted February 13, 2012 Author Posted February 13, 2012 I believe in my ability to get better and improve but its not like anyone is telling what I should do in response to certain moves, I get blown up and all I get is "Stay Free ... Level up ..." ... then what ? No advice but to not mash D ? Yes Im starting to use her normals more (or try to) but when I'm under pressure what do I do, press my shitty ranged A and hope it pokes me out when I dont know what I can poke myself out of. I admit when I'm under pressure and I lose my sense of thinking I make all the wrong decisions but thats a personal issue I must overcome. From my perspective, All I get is, from my view point, insults but no advice which is why I get so frustrated.
Kurushii Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 But where you getting the insults from? Online random matches? Who gives a fuck. If they salty you doing something right. NVG? Those Team NAH school girls? You been had tournament placings. I just think the times you get blown up is when your defense just gets ripped apart, they read your reversal, and punish it. I know my wins I have had against you are when I got in early and kept the pressure on you. Getting a lucky Ignis punish against your drive. Course I have taught you how to beat Relius's stuff and his weaknesses so it's a pain for me to get a win off you unless I really play patient. Her pokes aren't ass. May not be the farthest in range but they have good speed. Using D in response to some moves is perfectly okay, because of the amount of invincibility you have on some of them. But yeah, you start out by trying to hit-confirm with a D move a little too often. Are you not able to poke with A moves and confirm into your drives?

I can do A > 2A > 6C > j.D > stuff as far as I know the same goes with 2A and 2B (just a couple added inputs) but against Litchi and most others the range just makes me not want to do it unless I'm already in on my opponent (like in their space, comfort zone, bubble).
Jyosua Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 I can do A > 2A > 6C > j.D > stuff as far as I know the same goes with 2A and 2B (just a couple added inputs) but against Litchi and most others the range just makes me not want to do it unless I'm already in on my opponent (like in their space, comfort zone, bubble). That just means you've gotta find a way into their bubble before trying that. Hell, I only thought of a way to get in over the past two days with Jin. Also keep in mind you should be trying to do that when people approach you, rather than just mash 2D when they run at you.

In all honesty, I don't think there is anything wrong with using drive to escape pressure. In fact if you find a hole in your opponents pressure then you should use drive to get out of it. The problem with over using drive is that your opponent may start to punish for it. Which is why you shouldn't use drive on wake up so often. As for escaping pressure, the best advice I can give you is to learn the each characters blockstrings. A lot of them have a lot of holes that you can poke/backdash/drive through, and if worst comes to worst you can use your counter assault on a move that has a lot of recovery and punish them with it. (Also I wrote this kind fast of so if It doesn't make any sense I'll try to explain it better. Don't give up, I still think your a good player.)
AlxIce Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 I can do A > 2A > 6C > j.D > stuff as far as I know the same goes with 2A and 2B (just a couple added inputs) but against Litchi and most others the range just makes me not want to do it unless I'm already in on my opponent (like in their space, comfort zone, bubble). I'm not that good of a player. But imho you should probably start thinking "How can I get into my comfort zone" instead of having to play in theirs and finding a way to counter it. Like against Litchi, if she has good range, then take it away from her. Get in that ass. Litchi doesn't have a safe reversal other than Counter Assault. And don't worry too much about ppl's criticism. If you're noticing that it's hindering you, then try and change something, if you're consistently doing good; tell everyone to fuck off.
SansProtocol Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 i was hoping that sans would win. it would've been funny if he won. Yo, thanks man. Though I would have been pissed if I had won in my state.
Kurushii Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 A lot of them have a lot of holes that you can poke/backdash/drive through. Except for Relius. I do holes on purpose to bait people into frame traps with Ignis. :3

Overall, you're a good player that just makes mistakes and has room for improvement. If anyone should be giving up in here, it should be me. :P Except for Relius. I do holes on purpose to bait people into frame traps with Ignis. :3 Relius is like, frame trap KING.
Kurushii Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 @Jyosua you just need to watch some high level Jin's and copy them.
Jyosua Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 @Jyosua you just need to watch some high level Jin's and copy them. Lol, I know, and I try to. But god damn, they are so much faster at blockstrings than I am. I watched some of Marcell's qualifiers. The man knows his shit.
Demon Wind Bomb Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Except for Relius. I do holes on purpose to bait people into frame traps with Ignis. :3 As far as I'm concerned frame traps are just another thing that you have to look out for in a blockstring. Doesn't make them any less annoying though. Also I really want to fight your Relius now.
HIGEKING42 Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 i can't really comment on anything, Except TOMORROW.
Kurushii Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 i can't really comment on anything, Except TOMORROW. If you ordered from amazon then not tomorrow :P

It's annoying as fuck because there's pretty much no way to get out of it aside from bursting or counter assault. There is seemingly no right time to mash A.
Romeyurhomey Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 I understand Cary you need help but you can't have everything given to you. Seriously, learn how training mode works and it can make you a better player, it's not just for combos. It can be alot of more from working on your defense to hit-confirms. When I play Noel, I use 2a, 2b, 5b, 5c and jumping in. She has good moves to jump in with (especially jC). Try to work on frame traps as well.
Setsuna Posted February 14, 2012 Author Posted February 14, 2012 I'm not training mode smart like most people, Kurushii tried to help but I'm a hopeless case in this regard.
Scottie Yosh Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 If you ordered from amazon then not tomorrow :P ffff with 2 day shipping, only gets here friday aaaaa
