I'm kinda doubting it only being half the internet lol.

Wilde, mind telling me who you are? I only know the SFL people's names and not their tags lol.

i still win, so EAD :-)

WIN WHAT? You have never entered a tournament, you only play on netplay, and the fact that I can beat you with my Noel EVER (I DON'T EVEN OWN THE GAME) means you probably won't fair well against any real players.

I'm not trolling, but SFL DOES NOT PRACTICE. EVER. Thus we will never become good players. I know BRAWL PLAYERS that have more practice ethic than the BB players. Hell, I know MELEE PLAYERS that practice more often than us.

And don't say some shit like "hurr well it's your fault you don't practice," because without other people to practice with, there's only so much you can practice in training mode. If it wasn't for me and Theo (Wilde), SFL wouldn't even come to practice the one time a month they do now. I'm the ONLY reason the scene isn't completely and utterly dead, so if that makes me a troll then shit.

CAN I REITERATE THAT NETPLAY MEANS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING? Jesus shitting christ

You can, in-fact level up using netplay. But keep in mind winning or losing means nothing over netplay because blocking and reaction times are shit. But you can get matchup experience and get better at hitconfirming. That will go a long way in improving.

Long post incoming......

This discussion seems so relevant to the first time I posted here. lol.

For a tournament player (and that player's community) nothing should be good about online. People can practice online all they want and say it's a great tool or whatever..... But it won't be so great when everyone's given up hope on the game because other players are chilling at their house netplaying all the time. Not to mention online will never replace offline. And besides....Do you know how many people are on the phone, trolling, half asleep, or joking with friends while you're on the other side of the internet thinking you're learning something in a video game? It happens a lot more than you think. Get out and play the game with actual people in person.

Of course, if you aren't a tournament player for the game..... Then fine, netplay is fun and all. But if you have any intent on actually competing and contributing anything to your community, don't fool yourself into thinking online will do anything good for you in the long run.

And for those who might disagree with me (because I know someone will).... You probably don't know much about the tournament scene for anime games outside of Blazblue. You probably don't anything know about playing a tournament game on a PS2 in a next gen era, or driving 2 hours every weekend just to get casuals in with 2 or 3 dedicated players, or going so far to support a game that you use your own tournament winnings to give new players free entry in their next tournament. A lot goes into supporting a scene that isn't Capcom/Namco, and sitting at home online isn't in the formula. This isn't MvC3 where you can be netplayer #12543, and no one gives a shit because tournaments still have great attendance and everybody wants to play. You're playing a game that most people shrug off, and every person counts.

Also, another thing you guys should think about..... why the hell can someone drive 2 1/2 hours from another state to play BB, but other people can't take a walk into their own back yard? Hell, don't even care that much about BB (or any FG nowadays for that matter). The majority of my desire to support this game comes from me simply knowing how hard it is in tournament scenes for anime games in the first place.... But who wants to have anything to do with a game where the players are just chilling at home cooking up their grimy ass online tactics while talking about some ggs over some netplay matchmaking thread all day? While I know some people have legit reasons (like no car), there's no reason why other players can't step up and offer to carpool.

Anyways, I'm done with my rant. Forget online, contribute to your community, travel, get better.

Back to not posting in here for another 1 or 2 months. :V

TL;DR: Take the ethernet cord. out. of the PS3.

when have you ever beaten me with noel in cs:ex? you've gotten rounds :/ and i WOULD go to tournaments if someone would give me a damn ride. i won't mention anyone's name, but my ride for CEO last year stood me up. you want to see how well i'd fare against REAL players, give me a ride to CEO, DC. YOU do it.

I've taken plenty of matches off you, though admittedly you've taken way more. Stop having selective memory like the rest of SFL. Either way doesn't the fact that you are losing anything to someone who's played EX like three times? Just saiyan.

I don't even need to know how to play EX to be a top player in the region ayooo

I've already taken initiative and gotten a ride for CEO.

I got 2nd at FR in 2011 with mainly online match up xp. When I was in tally my main comp was Green Mario, and he only plays Ragna. Online play has its advantages and disadvantages for tourney play. To over-emphasize either would discredit online play.

In BB, anyone can take a match off of anyone, regardless of skill level. Hell I got a fluke win on LK in a TOURNEY. Haven't been able to beat the guy since. In all honesty, the game has hella scrubby elements in it, but that's the nature of this new era of fighters we're in.

Feux if you can get a bus to Tampa I'll cart you back and forth to CEO myself. Hell I could probably even give u half on the bus ticket.

The internet is for porn anyway. I don't even know why we all come here.

I wanna sig that last line...and i also agree about the importance of offline AND online play..good stuff guardian.

What this? I'm not from FL.................*run*

This. I've said time and time again that online play isn't useless. It's true that offline is infinitely better, but you can get better by playing online. If you truly want to be good at a tournament level, I would say it's ignorant to completely disregard online unless you have an offline scene that plays more than twice a week.

Is that a Star Driver avatar I spy there?

Well I digress, my intention wasn't to argue about me being the best player in SFL that ever lived, nor was it to argue about whether netplay is better than offline play. (That's how I got good! But it still sucks.)

The point was SFL is the laziest group of individuals I've ever been a part of. When I still played MK9, the Pembroke Pines crew practiced more than SFL BB. If I didn't have these meetups nobody would EVER play. Well I hear some of you guys play online every once and a while.

It's gotten better though since I started shitting on SFL, but not two weeks ago did nobody want to practice because nobody wanted to practice. Nobody came because nobody came. Ehh I've been through all this before.

Maybe we'll get better.

once or maybe twice a week at Zero Ping down in Hollywood.

There's actually going to be a meet this Saturday if you're able to make it. I know it's a long ass drive from Lake Worth lol.

We meet up as often as I say "hey guys, let's meet up."

Seriously. There's never been a meetup without me.

lol what? i didn't even read 7thfonon's reply. i don't think it was directed at me. i try not to play during the days because my father is always streaming movies on his tablet, but i am wired. if i turn the wireless off, he'll QQ. play me at nights when it's disabled

For any SFL peoples that lurk here and for some reason isn't in the Fb group, there's a meet at ZP this Saturday. PM me any questions if you have any.
