  2. Yeah those spells are dangerous. It's kinda like a race to see who can get their tools out first (Lobelias/Lotus or Spells). Also you don't have worry too much about God-Hand tracking. It's tracking is really, really slow. If you're running away from Nine or running toward her, it probably won't hit you.... It still can be used to punish your 236B/C attempts or George summon, but personally I've seen Nine's try to use the explosion rush attack (don't know the input) to get in close / avoid 236B, 236C, j236A / while also giving her a chance to attack. It sounds crazy, but they use it. lol. Mostly because Nine probably wants to be somewhat close to Rachel anyways. Hibiki is whatever to me... though most of the Hibiki's I've played weren't really amazing, so I don't have really good Hibiki exp either. I just set George whenever I can and stay by him. It will hurt a lot of Hibiki's teleport options. Aside from that, just remember to block the side swap attack which I seem to always fail to do. :V He's probably more of a threat at higher levels, but so far I think I am still at 100% win ratio vs Hibiki. lol.
  3. I remember people were wanting to talk about matchups / BBCF Rachel opinions a while back. But so far I don't think anyone has posted anything? Thought I might as well start it up, and hopefully some of you guys will join in? (there's no matchup threads for BBCF yet, which is why I'm posting here). Fought a good amount of Nine last weekend. The matchup was a lot easier than I thought. Just have to be able to safely get lobelia's on the screen. Nine's movement is rather slow, so putting a few staggered lobelias (turned into lotus) on the screen, pretty much guarantees a pretty favorable position. The biggest obstacle is getting those lobelias on the screen while also avoiding any chance of allowing her to get spells that can hurt your ability to set projectiles. Also, getting stuck in the corner vs Nine sucks since you really can't do anything (though that may have been due to my inexperience vs really good Nine pressure). OD is usable though, so I think it's really important to hold onto your burst in this matchup. Fortunately, if you catch Nine without a DP stock, you can also lock her down pretty easily as well, so I guess that's not really a disadvantage. In terms of the matchup as a whole though.... I think it's pretty even.... or maybe even 5.5 for Rachel. Wondering what you guys think of the matchup so far?
  4. you should check your PS4 settings or maybe TV. It should be fullscreen by default... unless you're playing on a CRT?
  5. Lotus oki is good everywhere. Especially in the corner. You might get hit if you get greedy with your setups, or have an execution error. And that's about it. He finally started using staggered lotus oki and OS'ing the DP's around 17:55.... that's kinda the way it should be done (except that you can produce that same setup without a pre-existing lobelia), though he didn't have to use wind at all. Cool, thanks. I'll think about posting up with some of my thoughts sometime soon. Hopefully the others will join in as well.
  6. I would like to talk about matchup analysis too if people make a thread for it. Then again, it would probably just be me talking about Azrael since that's literally the only character I have a problem with. :v
  7. Tried this character for the first time today... Really gotta get used to this air dash, like I can't even attack out of IAD unless it's IAD jD (just because jD stalls your fall time). :V Also you have to input your second air dash fast (so fast that the input is basically 6~6~4~4 or whatever... no pause in between). And if you input the second air dash after she's already appeared, the air dash won't come out. Regardless, she's fun so far, so I guess I'll keep her around as a secondary for now. I had no idea about this projectile strike thing... Does anyone know anything about Azrael / Noel / Bullet / etc projectile invincibility properties? I know Azrael eats projectiles (as he's done it to me a bunch of times as Lambda / Rachel), but what about projectile strikes?
  8. Thanks, lots of good info. I can see her being kind of like a zoner as well. And very true, with her normals, she pobably won't need to move around much in the first place.
  9. The second lotus won't hit without wind. It's mostly extra insurance in case they roll, and allows you to wind a second lotus on your opponent as an option if you want to (though you don't need to use it... it's pretty much just extra reinforcement to her oki). Glad to see more combos using poison bats. And of course, them looking fancy makes it even better! :P

  11. Wanna try out Nine later this weekend. Already investing all my BB game time on Rachel / Lambda, but might be able to fit some time in for her if she's as fun as she looks. I think the main dealbreaker for me will be her mobility. Can't tell how fast / slow she is since the CPU just sits or walks around the whole time. D: Also if I am understanding this right.... one hit = one stock of that specific element? And 3 stocks (combination) = 1 spell? Are you able to throw away stocks? Like say if you don't want a specific stock order for the spell you want, you can throw it away and get something else?

Try.... corner IOH jAjB > slide 5A( <<-- can omit) 5B5CC > 6CjCj236B > slide 5A5B6A236C > 3C > 22A corner 2A5B5CDC > 6CjCj236B > 5B6A236C > 3C > 22A Really stable (haven't tested it on bang though). You can probably get (very slightly) better damage elsewhere, but you should be able to figure out right away, why this setup is so good, and why I choose to use it over other setups atm. lol. Kinda can't wait to get back to Japan later this week so I can mess around with more Rachel combos though. Really fun to mess around with in this game thanks to the new 22A. Also for short starter combos that use up a lot of resources. You should check out this video... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bL0nRV3w4EM Can get about 3k off IOH with 2 wind and 50 meter.. About 4k off 2A with 2 wind and 50 meter. Again, these are going to cost you, but the damage is worth it if you have the resources. They also go into standard lotus oki (though it won't be as good... it is consistent oki regardless).
  13. Tried using ivy at neutral.... no one really cares about it. But if the damage is there for the taking... then why not? Lol. Also never took notice of the extra regain on tempest dahlia, but i guess that would explain a lot. :v This character is really good in this game though... imo mid tier would be like most the severe worst case scenario possible. :x And like kirbster mentioned, this really fixed the issue of being low in wind like in BBCP2. Which helps in her overall and in certain match ups like lambda / nu.

Now that you mention it, the few times I used bbl in a combo, the damage was pretty underwhelming.... starting to wonder if the main hit whiffed, and only the pole/rod hits landed.... might have to check that out later next month. Air wind regen isn't quite as fast as half. :P But you can at least visually see it increasing in the air (even if it's very little). Maybe 1/4 speed.
  15. yeah, she has a lot of small (big) changes here and there in this game. Also another thing you guys might like that still probably isn't seen in videos yet, is that you combo off normal hit cat chair now (I don't think she could do that in BBCP2 right?). I was able to get cat chair > 8D > 5B > jBjC > jBjC > j236A and..... cat chair > 8D > 5B > jBjCj2D > jump cancel > jC > dash 6A4B5CC (realllly tight, i guess the proration isn't that good). I'm sure you could get better combos off it.. I think the trickiest part about this though, is differentiating between the CH and non-CH before you go into the combo (since you can't use 8D for the CH combo).
  16. Rurouni gets it. Lotus basically gives you a pressure reset on top of the oki it already gives you. Not only that, but proper lotus oki (in the corner) does not require wind. You guys probably haven't seen it yet, since videos are limited, but I can guarantee you will see staggered lotus oki after 236C > 3C > 22A in the corner. Strong oki that grants you a free lotus status effect, and no wind required. Then you can do whatever you want for pressure afterward.
  17. you can keep people in blockstun twice with lotus..... In multiple ways.... And you don't have to waste 2 wind to do it. I'll probably have a better idea of how I think of her once I get back to Japan next month, but right now, with only 3-4 days of playing, I personally think she's really good.... Maybe bbcp1.00 tier / level once fully developed. Imo, if she had pumpkin in this game, it would be kinda dumb. She's great like she is now, and I like the direction they're going with Rachel.
  18. Dunno if there's any videos, but the bats just spread apart in the direction that you winded. Not really much more to it than that. Ivy is good in the corner. Though at center stage, the bats don't really do anything. Even if you wind them to your opponent, they're still pretty weak unless they are in the corner where they can pile up on your opponent. But I think the move can be useful at certain times, and vs non-DP characters, it's a very good for corner oki.
  19. You can get a tad bit more damage off Ivy, depends on how high you launch them in a combo. A full set of Ivy does around 600 damage, but if you keep your opponent too high in the combo (where bats can't reach them) you will lose damage. Simply going for a route that doesn't launch as high (such as not using 5A after j236B/C), would have added more damage to Ivy since it keeps the opponent lower to the ground. Granted, I'm not sure if you can produce the same amount of combo damage (despite adding more lotus damage), but you can get more than 300 damage off lotus mid combo. But again, the maximum damage of the overall combo, I'm not sure.
  20. Because this thread is the [CF]Rachel Alucard Final Changelist thread, and we're talking about BBCF changes in relation to BBCP2? Also I remember you guys wanted to know what windless combos Rachel had off 5CC. IOH (not counting that as wind for combo of course) dash 5A5B5CC > 6C > jC > etc You can basically do this off any dash in 5A5B5CC / 2A5B5CC / etc... you just have to make sure you're close to your opponent in the corner or it won't work.
  21. Except lotus really is that much better.... If I had the option to have bbcp2 pumpkin or bbcf lotus, I'd take lotus in a heartbeat (assuming I get all the rest of bbcf Rachel's properties)
  22. New lotus is amazing. imo it's better to not even think of it as pumpkin. I too thought the same thing, but now that I had some time with the game, I think the effectiveness of lotus in BBCF is not inferior.... But rather... it is worse, equal, or better than pumpkin given the situation. So there may be times in a match where lotus won't be very good (especially if you have no lobelias set), and others where you just feel like you own everything on the stage, and there's nothing your opponent can do about it. And yeah, you can use lotus as oki (and pressure). Also about ivy blossom. It's very good in the corner (against non-DP characters). Just set it for oki instead of using lotus or frog, and watch your opponent lose like 600-800 damage while you're doing a simple blockstring. You can also do it during combos, like 5B > 5CC > 9D > 214B > 5B > etc.
  23. looking at errolnotes.... Wonder if it is possible to do George oki in the corner, set ivy blossom while opponent is blocking Frog for 1,000 damage, and still have time to get in an IOH. And since George has no cooldown, You can basically go into the same setup again if your IOH hits? I could see damage adding up fast. and wait, because you press 2D during your IOH that means your bats will attack again right? That sounds scary.
  24. Any word on how long the bats last / approximately how much damage you can get if the opponent is poisoned all the bats for the entire duration? Also do the bats disappear on block or only hit?
  25. Yes, 236B is a completely new move. It never said 6A is an overhead.... 236B~6A is an overhead.
