Chris Chaos Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Luna has a Happauge (may have spelled that wrong, forgive me) and can record matches right off the system he has hooked up to it, and sometimes we use a camera, whomever has one available.
mAc Chaos Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 So you can hook it up to the computer and record matches and play at the same time, and it doesn't lag?
Chris Chaos Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 When I was getting recorded on day when Luna set it up, I didn't feel any lag. If you wanna get into the real specs of the thing, Luna would be best to tell you. I intend on getting one myself because you can play in HD and you can still play the game w/o any issues from my experience.
LunaKage Posted December 31, 2011 Author Posted December 31, 2011 No lag, it's the perfect setup for recording, but my current version isn't supported by streaming clients, so if you wanna stream you may wanna go for something else.
jamal313 Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 bout to get fucked up....happy new years still lol'ing at the fact everyone is on BBCS:EX and im still on CS2
Skye Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Happy new years. Good shit new guy compliments on your.defense. I sure as hell need to level mine up.

Nah, just recording is fine. There's a lot of good matches I have that I think, "Damn, if only I could've saved it." I'm just not sure if I need the card or some adapters or something to run it through the computer or what. The current card I have lets me capture stuff but you can't really play and capture at the same time. I hook my 360 up to the computer and then it records through the cables. I can then view what's going on the screen on the computer, but it lags like 2 seconds behind.

Yeah that sounds like my old setup, it was fine for recording saved replays, but once I started playing offline there was no good way to do it, so I went out and got my Hauppauge.
Kurushii Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 If you are playing on a 360 and using a desktop just buy a powered hdmi splitter and a AVerMedia AVerTV HD DVR. You won't find anything better in the consumer market in that price range for the quality it puts out. I been using it for the last year and love it. They are coming out with a newer model very soon that is going to have 1080p recording support. If you are using a laptop they do have a usb model that's better than Hauppauge's products, AVerTV USB HD DVR. :3
LunaKage Posted December 31, 2011 Author Posted December 31, 2011 I might have to pick up one of those once I start getting money, because I could swear the Hauppauge was the one Kuru recommended for me way back when. It still works perfect, but I kinda wanna stream, that would be fun.
Kurushii Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Yea what I recommended to you years ago when I was still using a Hauppauge. Hauppauge is still a good product for low end computers or people who just want to record and not worry too much about options. I've gone through the following: ATI AIW (forget model number) Hauppauge HD PVR Blackmagic Intensity Pro Matrox MX02 Mini AVerMedia AVerTV HD DVR. [One of these days i'll get around to writing up a detail guide on recording/streaming equipment and setting up]
Toasty Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 Speaking of recording equipment, what would be ideal for recording playthroughs with voice commentary (while still having the option of having the commentary recorded both during the playthrough or afterwards separately). I'd like to record some playthroughs of some N64 (and other) games in the future. I know where I can find info on the software, but I'm just not sure what hardware would be ideal. Would getting the same kind as Luna be good? ALSO LUMIN, YOU BETTER NOT FORGET YOUR CAMERA ON MONDAY. EVERYONE'S COUNTING ON YOU TO RECORD MARIO PARTY.
