reaVer Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 Well, I guess that's the idea:P But I haven't seen any trace of it so far. Maybe in the next arcadia there might be a printout. So keeping track of tokyotosho.com or alike might be a good idea:P
Unimportant Guy Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 So...anyone see the Ky vs HOS video? For some reason I can't get any sound when I watch it even with the volume cranked all the way up! So no s.e. or new music Anyway, is it just me, or does HOS's jump S look animated slightly differently? He looks like he swings the end of his jacket more forward or something...
JG Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 So...anyone see the Ky vs HOS video? For some reason I can't get any sound when I watch it even with the volume cranked all the way up! So no s.e. or new music Anyway, is it just me, or does HOS's jump S look animated slightly differently? He looks like he swings the end of his jacket more forward or something... Yes, i notice the same thig with j.S... maybe they reedited the frame ^^. The stuff that they added to hos was really nice and I like the new frames.
reaVer Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 The j.S is the same as it was in / except that they've scaled it for more range.
TITANIUM BEAST!!! Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 It has more forward range now, but the hitbox downward has been severely reduced. Add in the fact that j.HS on CH gives slide down from Hell and there's little reason to jump on someone with j.S unless you are trying to set up fuzzy guard mixups.
reaVer Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 Charge Burst eats projectiles:O Too bad the charge burst stays out long enough for someone to run from across the screen and still get a CH in:S
Unimportant Guy Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 Charge Burst has always had that property, and while it looks like it may recover a little faster in AC, it's still as unsafe as ever. That HOS player should have just used c.D instead to avoid those stun edges. I wish I could have heard the new song better, but the voices and s.e. covered most of it up. Granted, the song is really low to begin with.
reaVer Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 Nope, chargeburst merely provided invincibility to projectiles iirc.
zer0kage Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 Oh, I see. Then if HOS's EX colors are from /, are his normal colors now totally different ones? One of his new colors is a pimped up version of / K color (best imo lol). Think of K color but the default red bits are now black wihth gold trimming. Charge cancelling seems to be a beast in pressure. It seems to significantly reduce the recovery time of his normals like 5S CC run in 5S again. Are there definite + frames off that far 5S CC or even 5HS? 6HS doesn't seem to be cancellable from the start though. Edit:- Looking at the vid discussions. Expect a flood of players to come and post here in the future.
reaVer Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 Yeah, and don't be surprised if they all 'know' OS all of a sudden:P
maxbenoit Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 I'm worried about the comboable IK. I mean, it's not as if it's near impossible to get in the situation. Now that Level 3 is easier to reach to (Which I'm very thankful for) and one could merely burst for the tension, it's really not that hard. Sure, the input is crazy but given a few hours in training and you'll be able to do it like, 90% of the time. This is the first time an IK has been put in this situation. I'm sure it won't BREAK HOS but it'll definately give him an interesting edge. Good enough players will be able to put enough pressure to force away the Tension or the Level. Still though, a comboable IK is an option that no other character faces in the game =/
reaVer Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 The IK isn't that bad, it will only damage them when they are above 50% of their health. Only if they end up below 50% and then receive a Dragon Install, then they can get IK'ed. And when they are at that point with the amount of level and tension OS has, he has easier ways to finish off his opponents.
4r5 Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 HoSol's "Instant Kill" doesn't kill unless the hits before the IK-hit kills them, otherwise the IK-hit doesn't come out. In other words, HoSOl's "Instant Kill" is just a really cool looking combo, that looks even cooler if you use the combo to finish someone off.
reaVer Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 No, even when the opponent blocks the IK WILL come out if the dragon install started off with them having less then 50%.
TITANIUM BEAST!!! Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 Um, no, because if they block the DI, you don't even get to do the auto combo. It ends right there and HOS goes into stun.
reaVer Posted December 25, 2006 Posted December 25, 2006 nope, you still get the combo, it's on some vid showing off IKs, they showed all sorts of reversals after blocking OS DI. If the DI fails, the best thing you could do is press no buttons, that way you don't go into stun.
TITANIUM BEAST!!! Posted December 25, 2006 Posted December 25, 2006 Are you making stuff up again? I know that if I go into training mode and do OS DI and the computer blocks it, he goes straight into the stunned animation without being able to start the autocombo. Maybe it's a glitch you're talking about.
reaVer Posted December 25, 2006 Posted December 25, 2006 No, I wasn't making stuff up, but now that I've tried myself, you're right HOS does enter stunned state. Now I gotta dig up that vid:'(
pimp2303 Posted December 25, 2006 Posted December 25, 2006 He can jump cancel right b4 he goes into stun that way he never enters a stun state. IIRC ask kensou I seen him do it and not go into stun a couple of times.
drzero7 Posted December 25, 2006 Posted December 25, 2006 HOS seems to have gotten nothing BUT improvement. His manual Charge is actually USEFUL (i.e. charge cancel) faster charge and recovery, better far.S and j.S. (Good range, thank god) better Ground Grab. (The wall pin thing have better juggle set-ups) better Gunblaze. (HUGE fireball!) Man, I like his overall improvement so far. But still, not in "top-tier" or "broken" level IMO.
TITANIUM BEAST!!! Posted December 25, 2006 Posted December 25, 2006 Maybe not broken, but definitely has the potential to be a high-tier character. He's seriously like a better Sol at this point.
drzero7 Posted December 25, 2006 Posted December 25, 2006 I agree with you Titanium Beast. From what I've seen, HOS is at least High-Med tier. Reminds me of Mist Cancels back in GGX and GGXX of Johnny. (Before it got toned down)
Ceirnian Posted December 25, 2006 Posted December 25, 2006 If I'm not mistaken, gold sol will continue doing the dragon install combo even if you block the first hit. Can't remember, and I can't check since I don't have the correct memory card right now... so if someone wants to feel free.
