cookiehours Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 Am I right to assume you have to zone him out for this match? I fought this match a few times last night and that's what I was basically trying to do.
YukiBlue Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 Well, Ragna is now the very definition of Autopilot. Hits hard, gets damage of pretty much anything and everything, amazing normals and a top quality defence. This is without a doubt in his favour. HALP

Dont_Explain Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 Well, Ragna is now the very definition of Autopilot. I think you got him confused with CS1 Ragna.
YukiBlue Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 I think you got him confused with CS1 Ragna.Uhm...Nope. Just checked, I'm definitely playing Extend. *NO DERAILZ*
Zeron_X25 Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 I am practically scared of him now. .__. lol it's ok cookie I mean you no harm. This matchup is weird and I don't get it but... 3C jump cancel for Relius all the time. Better be baiting DPs 24/7 cause Relius' pressure is very tempting to mash out of.

YukiBlue Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 It's momentum based, and you need airtight pressure to stop Ragna players that love ID a little too much. You have tools to keep him at bay for as long as Ignis holds out, But you should plan pretty far ahead to make sure that you have enough Ignis meter to keep him honest. Lanto is boss in neutral. Unblockables will get ID'd (Bait it, Use 214D but simply omit the 3C) Val Tus Oki is expensive but the reward could justify it if you provide a decent mixup / Land it All of his distortions are good here, Though I think 236236D is the best simply because of the carry, Mixup, Mindgames ect. His Normals demolish yours If Ignis dies, Good chance you'll follow. You will pretty much lose all AtA battles *add more later or w/e*
Zeron_X25 Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 What do you do when Ragna doesn't do the DP motion at all? I found that Relius' go for obvious grabs/6A after 2D or something and it's usually very easy for me to tech or block. But I think 2D is great for this matchup cause it locks the guy in place and you can jump around and if he DPs, he's fucked. Something else I noticed is that Relius' j.B completely blew me up the first couple matches I had with Silfer21. It's pretty good air to air against Ragna imo.
YukiBlue Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 j.B is great but I kept loosing to j.C's amazing priority. I don't know the specifics but w/e, Maybe I was slow? I think when you play against Ragna you second guess yourself on committing to wakeup pressure because you don't know if you should expect a DP. So it's forces you to revolve your game around taking that tool away from him. Let him mash it, Make him hold that 7K for mashing DP. Goes for anyone with a DP really. FUCK DPS
BloodyRootBeers Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Led Ley 6D works pretty well at neutral against 5B, and canceling into led ley 6D in a blockstring catches him trying to DP.
Judgemastar Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 One of my favorite set ups for mixing up and baiting Inferno Divider is, after j214B, use 2D (assuming ragna didn't jump), and jump over Ragna while barrier blocking. If he D.P.ed, you'll block it, and Ignis won't go away. Which will be a free punish. If he sat there like a good boy, you get the left right mix up with both hits of 2D, and can now go for the high low mix up. You can backwards air dash and jB, land and go for 2B or 6A, whatever. Otherwise BloodyRootBeers method is pretty good. Just don't be too obvious with it, cause ragna can grab you out of Led Ley.
Guardian Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 (edited) Led Ley 6D works pretty well at neutral against 5B, and canceling into led ley 6D in a blockstring catches him trying to DP. Ragna can easily bait Led ley setups with 5A into 5B; 5B hits ignis superarmor yes, but it also makes it active ALOT longer, causing him to CH you as you recover from Led Ley. You'd have to do 6D/2D before you even commit to Led Ley, which kills the point of trying to bait anything with Led Ley at all. The second hit of 2D (edit, thanks TD) can be backdashed/DPed. I hate this match up. He can just press buttons all day and you have almost no choice but to respect it. I just throw ignis at him a lot and try to ease my way in. Relius has to zone a lot in this fight, b/c once he's in 5B range it's pretty much time to block. Edited March 2, 2012 by Guardian
TD Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 @guardian 6d is the 1 hit ignis bitchslap, 2d is when she shanks you twice. l dont think 6d has any super armor against physical attacks.
Remius Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 If ragna DPs alot and you can bait it, you can get absolutely ridiculous damage off of him using Relius' Fatal Counter, ESPECIALLY in the corner. with 100 meter a simple 6C fatal > punchball super > rapid > corner rape combo will do upwards of 7k, i THINK. Regardless, 6C > Super works anywhere.
