Nakkiel Posted July 19, 2008 Posted July 19, 2008 The FRC is useful for getting out of whiffing a VT, but it's not hard to counter, so it'll work maybe once if the opponent isn't expecting it. Most (good) Ky players won't VT on wakeup unless you constantly get in their face with unsafe oki moves. Personally the only time I really use VT is for AA (when 6P or 2HS won't hit/come out fast enough), on CH it's completely untechable, leading to a free combo for Ky (assuming you're high enough for him to land quick enough or if he used SVT)
ky0n01 Posted July 19, 2008 Posted July 19, 2008 Yeah, rising javelin FRC is a pretty good tool for escaping safely. On top of that Ky has a lot of anti-ground options(air stun edge frc, j.HS). BTW rising javelin FRC timing is 3 frames, pretty strict huh

Sytha Posted July 19, 2008 Posted July 19, 2008 The problem with the FRC is he can't use it to escape really. Unless the knockdown was by an aircombo (He retains jump properties on wake up this way.) He can only throw out an attack or block. Thats it. And those 3 frames are Ky's easiest FRC window. So I don't think many Ky players miss it. As for Good Ky players wouldn't use the move. A Good player would use all his tools and if he knew that would get him out then yea. He would use it. It's something that Slayer (Any character really.) has to at least worry about. Despite it being like the 2nd or 3rd worst uppercut in Accent Core (For Reversals.) Not sure if it was mentioned but the safe time to burst Ky is VT. (For the most part.) Cause most the stuff he uses in combos is overly burst safe and your just going to get reset if you guess wrong.

Yeah, that's why I said it only works on people who aren't watching. So basically, if Ky whiffs VT he's pretty much fucked. Even if he does get the FRC off, it's not hard to air throw him.

I see, so they can jK me before i even FRC but the combo will surely be messed up .... Good thing i only VT a lot on scrubs.. its good to know that FRC's not safe after all T_T still, VT is very effective if you don't use it too often XD
