mr.mortified Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 Installing the game right now, currently at 10%. I'll have some games with anyone 30 minutes from now. edit- Can't read this disc. It may be scratched or dirty. Clean the disc with a soft cloth and try again. (This fucking blows) 1)borrow someone else's disc 2)install game 3)???? 4)vidya gaems can be played This is mainly since the game disc is only necessary to verify the existence of the game. The game will then read off of hard drive afterwards and the disc is no longer in use. In another note, its been waaaaay too long since I've trolled around here
mAc Chaos Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 In another note, its been waaaaay too long since I've trolled around here *puts character select cursor on Arakune* *leans back* better watch yourself first
mr.mortified Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 Is it right for me to assume that I am a netplay general OG?

abadlime Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 ggs nemesis. I found that being on the laptop destroys our connection. Literally went from 0 to 2 when i logged off. Didn't think it was THAT MUCH of an issue when i played with others but it seems it is. We should do more imperial codes... unless you hate noel then i understand =)
Nemesis Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 GGs bad - sorry it was cut short but so tired now and I respect ur seeking out difficulties instead of bitching about them - that's the attitude thats taken me as far as I've gone
ShelledMenace Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 Oh sounds like he was still on then. GGs earlier Nemesis, somehow I forgot to say that lol. Also yeah for whatever reason, I've had the same thing when I've got the computer on. Even when it's not doing something it's eating the bandwidth I guess.

Well in some networks having multiple things on can "confuse" the router for a moment (and we're talking milliseconds here). "Are these packets going to the 360 or the PC? The PC -No wait the 360!" in English. Especially if you have a router -> router -> stuff setup (which you should never have, use a switch instead)

I need to sleep too (but i can't for some reason =/). I find the difficulties fun to deal with. Feels nice when you can get past it... or at least see what you can manage against it now compared to before. Oh sounds like he was still on then. Even when it's not doing something it's eating the bandwidth I guess. I usually just have dustloop on and nothing else. Occasionally switch out to other sites but nothing much. Perhaps i shouldn't be netplaying while someone is on anything... which works out fine since i'm a night player and everyone else is asleep. Ctrlaltwtf Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 I gotta learn how to manage the internet/connection instead of letting my parents handle it. I feel like since they started "experimenting," my connection overall has been worse. I can back that up, that one time we played like 60 games of Haz vs Tsubaki the connection was fine. Ever since then though there's a noticeable delay that wasn't there before.

Ever since then though there's a noticeable delay that wasn't there before. I'll probably have to test this with you. I remember the delay recently, but i was definitely on my laptop during those 60 games. My mom started work at home which requires the internet to get calls which may have to do with it. Though that's only during the day. Perhaps an upgrade would be helpful. Should i replace my router every once in awhile? Not knowledgeable on the internet so any feedback is helpful.
toanenadiz Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 GGs to everyone yesterday, especially TectalEASTSIDE and LittleSubby. The controller is still my biggest enemy but it looks like I can still get by with just the basic Lambda stuff.

Mmm I wouldn't replace your router unless you have a reason to, like it's hella old and out of date or something. I'd try speedTest and pingTest first to see where your stats are at. Then if you're having a laggy day you can check them again and see if they change. Also probably wouldn't hurt to set DMZ to your 360. Probably won't make much difference but won't hurt either.
Chickzama Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 Woohoo, it's the weekend for me, nothing can stop my gaming maratho- zzzzz (See ya'all on netplay <3)

Ctrlaltwtf Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 Woohoo, it's the weekend for me, nothing can stop my gaming maratho- zzzzz (See ya'all on netplay <3) Seems like we share weekends then. I'll get on for a bit if you're still up for it. I think my massive lag-spike has passed (brother was updating EVE online I believe)
Sadeyo Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 I'll be lucky to find anyone in the same city that plays the same game as I do, to make matters worst I can't even download ggac+ on my psn.

Still no luck with installing BB to hard drive? As for GG, my honest opinion is that the game really isn't worth it with it's net code. Sure it was fun and all to play BB's predecessor, but the game does show it's age. I would definitely play it semi-regularly if it weren't for the horrific netcode.

Ctrlaltwtf Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 How old would you say is old? As far as i remember, it's a 7-8 year old linksys. That is pretty old, especially in the hardware world. You can browse on newegg.com for new ones. That's where I always go for new electronics/computer hardware. That being said, I want to stress that you only really should consider replacing the router if you're sure it's causing problems. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"
Sadeyo Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 It's basically a lost cause with installing the game into the HD. I'll just continue on with psn and just return back to xbl after BBCP drops, I have to drive off post to find a used copy of the game since it's still going for 39.99 new LE.
