Moy_X7 Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 This match blows, it all boils down to who gets the momentum here first. You do not want to go against Taokaka in the air, you will get CH'd and eat a nasty combo. Plat is just too slow to even hold a candle to Taokaka in the air. You'll have to rely on your anti-airs and ground footsies to score a hit. Pray that you get the bat as often as possible as that's one of the only ways to get out of her pressure. You could push buttons but Taokaka will frame trap you sooner or later.
Endo x Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Yea Shes quick so pray for bat and missiles, I like the 214C bubble out near me for distraction or other random hit help. Zoning her out for approach what It usually comes down to tho
rawrrawr45 Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 (edited) If you can start pressure, tao has no reversals without meter. Another interesting thing that i found today is that 6B causes tao's counter assault to whiff, giving you a free counter hit. Not sure how useful this is applied to actual reads (probably not at all), but it's food for thought. Edit: I keep forgetting that tao can crawl under missiles. I find bombs infinitely more useful. A.X.I.S. Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 Tao's crouch walk beats our 5A so don't be obvious with it. 5B is a good poke. If you are in the air do not whiff anything unless you already tested the players reaction. If you get caught by Tao IB barrier or wait for a chance to mash out.
Cirno Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Tao's 2A also outright beats our 5A. Don't spam AAs, as they'll be baited. Bombs are great in this matchup, but missiles are less so, as Tao can get around them easily and still be too high for you to punish her for it. If you get missiles, try using them one at a time, well placed. If you can get Tao to block, keep her there. Always go for oki unless it'll kill, and bait her CA's and bursts, as many Taos will burst/CA as soon as they're hit/caught blocking.
